@djfrancis please modify your post to exclude your passport number. |
I submitted on the 8th of November. Picked up my visa and passport yesterday. ninab: |
That is the correct number. iyaaliyah: |
Thank you LagosNIV. I finally received an email saying my passport will be forwarded to DHL today. Calling was unproductive though as the three individuals I spoke with today told me they could not route my call to the NIV unit. |
I also received an email this afternoon saying my passport will be sent to DHL today and should be available for pick-up from tomorrow. I called 01-4603400 MzYemie: |
This is unbelievable. Absolutely unacceptable. She has the temerity to laugh at you because this probably has been going on for so long, no one has complained for fear of being victimised, and she's probably always gotten away with it. Funny I spoke with someone as well today and I found the conversation...weird. He kept asking to be patient as the visa may be issued before my scheduled travel date. At some point I had to tell him he was not listening to me. I do not have the luxury of being patient. I am scheduled to travel for work and at this point just want to collect my passport. He finally said to call back again tomorrow. I'm not sure what will be different tomorrow. I guess we got ourselves to this level. Suffering and smiling. MzYemie: |
Dear LagosNIV, Please assist with my request below. I have sent two emails to the LagosNIV mailbox between Monday and today and I am yet to receive a response. I know it is possible with other Consulates to collect one's passport if there is a travel need whilst processing of the application continues. I have read that a B1/B2 application cannot be withdrawn,I am not sure how true this is but I sincerely do not mind withdrawing my application at this stage. I just urgently need my passport and will be grateful if email requests are at least attended to. Surely, there must be a process to collect my international passport. I am sincerely losing my mind. Dedayo: |
I'm in the same boat. I have called, emailed and tracked my passport - all futile. I have requested for guidance on the withdrawal process, still no update. I am happy to make changes to my holiday plans. I just need my passport to travel for work. This lack of clarity and uncertainty cannot be right. MzYemie: |
Dear LagosNIV Please what is the process to retrieve one's international passport? I understand there may be a backlog in processing cases and that's fine, I'm happy to withdraw my application. It is almost a month which is a lot of time given the nature of my job? I have an urgent business travel this weekend that cannot be cancelled. I have sent emails to the Lagosniv mailbox without response. I will be grateful if you can please guide me on how to withdraw my application and obtain my passport. |

LadyGuinivere:Nwa nne m eweliwe biko. No be small harmattan cold my sister. Thanks for the good work you are doing. Enough puff puff loading. I had my interview this morning and it would be totally unfair for me not to post my transcript after having gone through the thread for guidance. So here goes: VO: Good morning ma'am Me: Good morning VO: Please pass me your documents VO: Where are you travelling to? Me: New York VO: Why are you going to New York? Me: For tourism VO: I am sorry? Me: For tourism VO: What do you intend to do while you are in New York? Me: I intend to visit the Empire State Building, Times Square, The Statue of Liberty, definitely see a broadway show and do some shopping VO: How long do you intend to be in New York? Me: 13 days VO: Have you travelled out of Nigeria before? Me: Yes I have VO: Where to? Me: UK, Ghana, Pakistan, Kenya and Dubai (some more than once) VO: Why do you travel so much? Me: It's the nature of my job. I am Bleep at Bleep and it entails a lot of travel VO: Were all your trips on business? Me: No. My trips to XX and XX were for tourism VO: How long have you been with your organisation? Me: I joined in XX last year VO: Ok ma'am. I am going to approve your visa, please pick it up at Bleep in Bleep days time. Honestly, I did not hear the rest. I was just happy for God's favour. I had heard people say it's hard when you are young and unmarried but like the gurus on here would always say - the most important thing is proving to the VO that you have no intention of absconding if granted the Visa. None of my documents were checked, not even my international passport whilst I was in front of the VO. On a lighter note, some people do themselves a great disservice - starting from that queue outside. The lady in front of me was with 2 of her kids all garbed in winter jackets. Seriously? In this harmattan? Abi that is 'dressing the part'? She kept yelling at her daughter in Yoruba and English -"if you take off that jacket again, I would beat the hell out of you". I am no VO but in my mind I am thinking this has got to be the joke of the century. Or the guy who says he is a businessman in front of the VO and then proceeds to explain how borehole is linked to cement - seriously? After the epistle, the next thing I heard was "I'm sorry..." VOs dey try - They must have a lot of rib cracking tales to tell. Thanks to everyone doing an amazing job on this thread and God's favour to all. |
Visa approved. Transcript loading in a bit. |
