I have not been able to confirm that. But if that's true (which we pray it is) it's surely a good news. Meaning the rest are on d way. But may I know your source? Sultan5: |
You can trust people have reached to JAMB and they said they are aware Kemade has no results yet. Just keep praying and hoping. opytom: |
The power of togetherliness can never be underestimated. It's no news that thousands of candidtates who sat for the just-conluded JAMB UTME at this centre (Kemade Highflyer, Ile-Ife) have not seen their results days after the exam. No one should talk about malpractice here cos all results beginning from 13th to 20th have not been released. Get your voice heard by telling us your day of exam and time. CC: All mods. |

Chai! I pity those who opt-in for jobs like this. See requirements, see pay! People trying to use others. 1500 Naira or dollars? You think churning in a 500-word essay/article of high quality na beans? topsquino: |
I can. Dedecoder@yahoo.com |
jstbeinhonest:When people compare Unis, there has to be a basis for doing that. We are talking about academics here and the highest decision making when it comes to approval of courses in our Ivy leagues has come with the message: You don't have what it takes to run this programme; stop doing so fraudulently. I hope you know d implication of NUC action were it to have been a private Uni? Go ask the likes of Lead City |
LARRYDKING:I do not expect anything less from a Uites. We sympathize with you folks on this huge loss/blow. We expect that soonest, perhaps when you give honour to whom it is due, you shall have your faculty re-accredited. I will not come here to say OAU is the best Nigeria can put forward. Far from it. A lot of things below average are obtainable there. Take a look at South Africa Unis and you'll weep for your dear country. My point is this: in the midst of blind men, a one-eyed man reigns! |
LARRYDKING:Courses who's accreditation status read: Up to date. The faculty of pharmacy, OAU is the first of its kind in sub-sahara Africa. |
There is a rumor (although unconfirmed) that those candidates whose JAMB scores have been held allegedly due to malpractice is untrue. That the truth is that their answers were erased from JAMB database. That the said statement by JAMB is just an attempt to save face. https://www.nairaland.com/3823010/lies-jamb-which-way-nigeria Something is definitely wrong dear and JAMB hasn't come out to tell us what the issue is. All the candidates that wrote at the said centre haven't seen their results. Just keep praying |
And this is the University some dudes are comparing to OAU? I thought only up-coming private Unis are the ones normally faced with such embarrassing fate of disacreditation. Well, I pray UI gets out of the wood. |
Can you imagine results still not yet out after several days the exam has been written? Indeed no better caption suits the anomaly. |
DavidTheGeek:As in, Kemade seems to be in for it this year. Many candidates who sat for their exams there haven't seen their results. |
I have been involved in the usage of computer for conducting test for students and what I know is that results are normally ready as soon as exams are concluded. But I'm amazed and dazzled that candidates who sat for the just-concluded UTME as early as 16th, 17th and the rest haven't seen their results yet. On the part of JAMB, they will want us to believe that they are fishing out possible cases of malpractice but this can be contested as other centres and sections of the country have had their results released. Ordinarily, they ought to have released statements stating clearly why the delay is happening. Or how do one calm down a candidate who had seen every other person's result but his/her own? Authorities at all levels in this country have to be more sensitive. In case they are not aware this exam is everything to some people. I advise you if you are among those repeatedly being told "You do not have any result yet" to be more prayerful and patient. So long as you didn't involve yourself in any malpractice and you followed all laid-down rules, It shall be joy afterwards. Remember the best are sometimes reserved till the end. |
Anything called CBT should not be this long and irregular. Some who did theirs on Thursday have seen their results while others that did on wednesday and even tuesday haven't seen theirs! Just hoping that something fishy isn't going on. I'll encourage all in this shoe to keep hope alive and pray for the best. By friday, we'll know if to keep hoping.. |
dfrost:You are warmly appreciated. I think I responded on the wrong post/comment. I've got nothing to gain in misleading anyone. |
opeyemihendrix:Not at all. That was for last year using UI model. Some other schools adopted the same style though. But like I earlier pointed out, we expect harmonization of grading system this year. Maybe that would be made known after the whole exercise is over - I mean UTME Hope you find this useful |
dfrost:I wonder why and how people boast on what they don't know. I was intimately involved in the admission process of last year in the schools I mentioned. Go confirm on UI page and you see the fact speaking for itself. |
ugwuvictor58:It's only few Unis that I'm sure of. Other institutions did use what seemed best to them. But expect harmonization this year |
daamazing:O'level = 50points; Jamb Score = 50points. So, for ur utme, divide it by 8. E.g suppose you scored 288, it'll be 288/8 =36. That means out of 50points accruable to utme, you've secured 36. For O'level. This is how it goes: A1=6points B2=5points B3=4points C4=3points C5=2points C6=1points So, let's say your result looks like this Maths B2 (that's 5points) English C4 (that's 3points) Physics A1 (that's 6points) Biology B3 (that's 4points) Chemistry A1 (that's 6points) Summing the points together, you have 5+3+6+4+6 =24 (out of possible 30) It'll now be: 24/30*50 = 40. (It means for O'level, you've secured 40 out of possible 50). Putting the two together, you have 40+36 =76. So, your aggregate is 76. You'll realise that though the grades and scores are impressive, a candidate who had this last year would not secure admission to UI, UNILAG or OAU medicine. And that's the import of my post. With huge scores this year, the cut-off may even be higher. Hope you find this helpful. |
Evidence1000:You got the message cllearly. Rejoicing just because you pass 200 may eventually not last. But honestly, someone needs to speak to the team of examiners of JAMB to brace up. They should not be coerced to lower the standard. WAEC questions this year, to me, beat those of JAMB's both in structure and completeness. And before now, it used to be the other way round |
tdayof:Last year, the cut-off mark for U.I medicine was 76.76 and not 71 as you opine above. Unilag placed theirs at 80 points. The two schools used the 50/50 idea. But then, I agree with your submission. It's better to be sure of one's aggregate now and then take the right step |
I have read with keen interest many of the wonderful results students have been celebrating in this year's UTME. Folks who have had to wrestle with the exam severally now bask in the euphoria of having had fantastic scores. No doubt, in some quarters, the new leadership of JAMB should be applauded. At least it gave everyone "a sense of belonging". If you scored 260 or 270 and yet couldn't get your dream course or any admission at all, be consoled that at least you "passed". The Magnanimous Unilorin Ex-Vc has made life better. Unlike other years where you expect 290 and you check your result only to find 206 or 220. He must be at least be praised for letting everyone know they are "brilliant". Be that as it may, there is a sad reality on ground- the available space. The admission process may be a little bit "stuffy" this year because of the plethora of big scores. Don't forget, WAEC of this year too seems to be loose. So, in the journey to the Nigerian University for 2017/2018 session, the film or if you like, drama has just begun! Legs crossed...

Reports reaching us from candidates who have just concluded the 2017 UTME suggest that the much-anticipated examination may not be as difficult as feared in some quarters. Though some complained of insufficient time, majority asserted that the questions were "relatively" simple. It is hoped that the results too will justify this claim. Candidates just finishing theirs can also check in here to enlighten others. Heard just 5 questions came out of the prescribed text. What was your own experience like? |
ENCOURAGEMENT FROM THE Don't even bother asking me cos I know how it feels. I know just how unwanted disappointment in admission can be. The policy change of this year really affected many otherwise sound guys. You are not alone in your groans if you didn't make the cut-off. So, don't do what I won't do. E.g taking rat poison or planning to employ "miracle center" to bail you ou. Re-try again next year. Don't be discouraged, as you put in more effort, God will crown your personal effort. If your O'level is weak and you want MBBS, sonsider taking the next SSCE and bag your As. It is well |

"And Joseph said unto his Brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall CARRY UP MY BONES from hence" (Gen. 50:24-25) It was the tradition of the Jews never to leave dead bodies for long before being buried. However, in the case of Joseph, he instructed his brethren to not bury him right away nor embalm him as it was the custom in Egypt then. Rather, he gave them the instruction to carry up his bones with them when God delivers them out of Egypt. The fulfilment of this deliverance was however going to take some 400yrs! Here are the lessons: (1) God's word will never fail regardless how long it takes. In the case of the Israelites, it took some 400yrs but it eventually happened. God did visit his people (2) Truth Faith believes that whatever God has promised, He is able to perform. It was God's promise through Joseph to deliver Israel and no matter how unthinkable or unfeasible it may, appear, genuine faith believes He can! (3) True Faith trusts God's promises. Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways of answering our prayers of which we know nothing. Exactly how God will deliver Israel from Egypt, joseph didn't know but he kept on assuring: God will Surely visit you. (4) God's promises brood No delay. They may appear late in our sight but they aren't in God'. He does things perfectly in His own time. Just be still and know that I am the Lord. (Psalm 46:10) (5) True faith waits patiently on the Lord. One virtue that qualified some Isrealites to witness the fulfilment of the promise was patience. Wait patiently on the Lord, I say yea wait on the Lord (Psalm 27:14) (6) True faith lives a pilgrim lifestyle. Do you know that all the time Joseph was in Egypt, his heart was in the promised land? That was while he made the pronouncement "Carry up my bones". You can be in Egypt today (the world, a job, an education e.t.c) but you heart ought to be in Canaanland (Heaven) (7) A true believer cherishes the blessed hope. Joseph was actually looking forward to the apocalyptic day of judgement when God shall ultimately deliver His people from the Egypt of this world and settle them in Canaan Land. That should be our own obsession too. |
There is an unfortunate trend in christendom today in which the acceptance of a person by God and his/her chances of getting saved is linked to either the G.O of the individual's christian denomination or his or her lineage. Inconceiveable as it may sound, there are many folks who rely on their parents' religious piety to presume that they would inevitably be saved. The truth, however is that, if the scriptures can be trusted and if Indeed the God of heaven and earth is not a liar (Numbers 23:19), every one of us will be answerable for our individual deeds before the judgment throne of the Almighty. Your parent's righteousness will not deliver you neither will their unrighteousness be the reason you didn't make it. In the light of this, it is expedient that we all "take our destinies into our hands" by studying the scriptures for ourselves and getting to hear God directly without any intermediary. Don't just follow what anyone says no matter how highly placed in your church he/she may be. Cross-check with your bible and ask the Holy Spirit to guide and He will. "Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it (an unrighteous city), they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord God" (Ezekiel 14:14) |
I'm sure it's God's spirit contending with you on the subject you just posted. First and foremost, Sunday is not the "Sabbath of the Lord thy God". A careful study of the Bible will reveal to you that Saturday, not sunday is the sabbath. Now, to answer your question. The breaking of God's commandment is a sin. No human rationalisation can change that. Going to work on Sunday is never a sin. Rather, refusing to keep a commandment of God that a special day, the 7th day of the week which is saturday, be set aside for Him is the real problem. One can work on the sabbath. The question is just that: whose purpose does it serves? Yours or God's? If what you are doing on the sabbath is YOUR own way, dear, you are sinning. "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, NOT DOING THINE OWN WAYS, NOT FINDING THINE OWN PLEASURE, NOR SPEAKING THINE OWN WORD" (Isaiah 58:13 KJV). If you are a doctor, the sabbath should not be used as an excuse to abdicate your role of saving lives. However, needless task and other things that can be done on other days should be avoided. It's a day God had fixed from the inception of this world to commune specially with his children. Just a pity that majority of people are missing out! |
