charlesucheh:On one point, you may be right. But again, looking at the big picture, your submission is rather too harsh and lacking in depth. No doubt, many got what they deserved in this on-going utme but it is crystal clear that majority too had their results doctored to save JAMB's face from embarrassment. This year's questions are past questions repeated and if such measure isn't taken by JAMB, over 75% of candidates would have 250 and above. What folks need here is encouragement, some explanations and perhaps consolations not a kind of sanctimonious, despotic and unwelcomed advice such as this one. People have always known that they should read and take responsibilities. But you can only take responsibilities for YOUR action not someone else's. Let JAMB set standard question as they used to when they started and let them stop these abnormal marks deduction as witnessed this year because it can really discourage hard work. When one works hard and ends getting what one feels is far below ones ability, it can really be painful. #withyouistand2016jambites |
When you start a thread or submit a comment here and it wins a lot of accolades, likes, shares and whatever it's called, perhaps, it's because you haven't told the truth. I'm not a muslim and I do not in any way support judging others but it's my worry these days that where have we kept our senses of dignity? Is nudity our culture? And isn't a dry morsel better than a wet one with violence? You see ,It's not everything that appears as "help" or "breakthroughs" that are from God. I'm happy she's making headway and I sincerely do wish her well but things must be done rightly. Caps should be on d head and not d yarns. |
This man is living up to his responsibility. This is what an Elders statesman does. I'm less concerned of your past, I only see that you are trying, if possible, to make the future better and this is what is needed. The "Honourables" should please fear God and have mercy on the masses. |
RexKex:Exactly. The writer made it look like it's socially inept to be chaste. That should be a standard everywoman should want to achieve prior to marriage. We aren't condemning you @OP if you've lost yours but don't send a wrong message across to the younger ones. The truth is: no excuse is good enough for not being chaste before marriage. It's sheer recklessness. |
Why will God create the world in six days and rest on the SEVENTH day ? in isaiah 46. It say that God declare the end from the beginning. A similar verse was in isaiah48. This lead me to the creation story in the book of genesis. The old testament is full of foreshadowing. An event that actually happen in history, also picture somting coming in the future. an example is the sacrifice of Isaac which forestshadow the death of Jesus. In 2peter 3:8, the context was reffering to the second coming of Jesus christ, the bible say that, one day with they Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand year is like a day. so could it be that the six days of creation were you indicate to us the time man will spend on this earth would be about six thousand years?...the SEVENTH day of rest picturing the thousand years millennia reign, when christ come back to set up is kingdom, the time of righteousness and peace. In matthew17:1 it say, that Jesus took peter, james and john up to the mountain, apart from the rest, did the thing we want to know happen up there? Yes. Jesus transfigured before them and they are giving a preview of his second coming glory, now the first word of the verse was "after six days"( after six day indicate the transfiguration happen on the SEVENTH DAY ) why did God throw this in? To wast space? Or is God trying to tell us something that we need to know? note: the time from adam to Jesus is 4,000years [4days] the time of the church period is two thousand years [2days] so could this mean after 6000yrs [6days] God will revive isreal and fulfill his promise he made to them? Hmmm am I reading to much . If am right, BROTHERS WE ARE LIVING IN THE END OF DAYS. REPENT. THANK YOU[/q I must salute your reasoning and analysis. They show a person studying and as well expecting the Lord's coming. Truly, we are at the End of times especially when you review the Daniel's Prophecy as contained in Daniel 2. We are the Kingdom of the feet (partly clay,n partly iron). But permit me to say that setting days or trying to guess for Christ coming is unscriptural. The coming of the Son of man will be like a thief in the night. Whern men least expect. People have tried to do this in the past and they have all been disappointed. Ours is to live our lifes as if the trumpet will sound Now! While we leave the exact time to God. |

Henz24:Your chances depend on the following: (1) Your proposed/desired course- Competition implied here (2) Admission quota for ur dept (3) How many people have been admitted already (on merit) (4) Whether you have someone helping you out or not. All these come to play in what makes up the supplementary list. Maybe you need to keep praying too. All things are possible to him that believes. |
tmosco:Dear, if indeed your brother had 71. Don't worry yourself. His name will come out for the supplementary list. The guys there in the admissions office are just not clinical this year. Or was your Brother part of those whose results were initially witheld? I'll advice you go to Lagos with your slip and there lodge your complaint. Never assume that they know. And don't consider your pocket o. The effort worth it. 71 pass all departmental cut-offs! |
Drdonzeez:The names you saw there were for those who met the Merit and catchment. Others would be added to them from Pre-degree/foundation programme. Others would come from Long leg and connections, others by sheer luck, others who are 1 or 2marks short off the cut-off while others would simply be by Grace. Ultimately, be assured that not less than 95 names would join that list. This is because Unilag admits about 150 medical students annually. The anxiety now lies in whether you'll be among the lucky ones. After the Merit list, any other person that gains admission is by luck. Contact one or two persons that you know and talk to God also about it. (Prayer) I have a feeling that if you get 65 and above, There may be some hopes. So what did u score? |
In the event that some individuals do not meet the merit/catchment for MBBS (as i have abt 2 of them) and they passed the merit for Dentistry, would it be safe to apply for COC into dentistry? Please if you are familiar with Unilag terrain, kindly reply asap. |
jorrn:Both the catchment and the merit cut-offs will be released at once. And that's while one needs to exercise some patience. It'll not take more than 2weeks at most. Here is how cut-offs are determined. (1) General performance (2) maximum quota a dept can take. (3) regionality which we call catchment. Take for instance; of the 150 candidates unilag will admit for medicine, at least 50 will be by merit (not considering where u are from), 20 will be left for hustlers and long-legged individuals. While the rest 80 will be shared among the 6 states falling in the catchment. To favour candidates from this states, marks up to 2 or 3 are usually reduced from the standard merit cut off for them. E.g if the merit for MBBS is 70, for individuals from any of these states, it may be brought down to 67 or even 66. The implication is if there are two brothers one from Ekiti and the other from Imo aspiring to get medicine and both scored 66, the brother from Ekiti would be picked at the expense of others. So, here is my advice again: check last year cut-off for merit and catchment (if it applies to you) for your course. No doubt, even if it'll be by 1point, this year's cut-off will be lower than last year because of the general performance. But the difference is still not going to be that much. In as much as the general perfomance isn't that too good, the truth is that people still passed! That's why MBBS may never be far from last year cut off and same applies to other courses. So if last year cut off for your scores says 67 (just for example) and you got 66 or 65.something this year. I'm telling you, your chances are like 80% but if you have 60 or fifty anything, beging to consider COC. That's an honest advice from a brother. I wish everyone success and no matter what, we shall all make it. N.B this post may not be directly useful to you but it may just be what someone following this thread may need to know at this time. |
eliyoung22:Something tells me this is not far from the truth. Let's waith till the full list is out which probably will be next week. Then, we'll see the catchments too. But in any case, I think this isn't concocted |
joviegghead:There's no doubt this year's post utme score is somehow low. It's only a hand full of individuals that have managed to sail above 60%. The larger percentage of those who passed are between 50 and 59. (I tell you, if you scored within this range, you be baba or mama as the case may be) I said it in my earlier post that applicants should braise themselves up for something different this year. The moment I realized a CBT exam which was supposed to be released almost immediately took a week, I knew NORMALIZATION was on-going. JAMB uses this method and so, it's not your raw score that you actuaclly get. Make no mistake, the 0.25 that was added to some people's aggregrate is no mistake or generosity. It's part of the process. It'll end up making the difference between the "boys" and the "men". By next week, the cut-offs will be out and I can assure you it won't rise higher than last year. Just begin to match your scores with the cut-offs. The difference is not going to be more than "minus 4" at most. I.e if your catchment was 65 last year, it's likely not going to go below 61. Wisdom therefore demands that you start studying which course you can change to now. It's the situation we have found ourselves in this country. We struggle and compete for almost everything - including death! Many are capable and willing but are denied because of limited space. Please don't give up brothers and sisters. Join the "league of strugglers" and do your best to enter this year. Any course. You may keep that bird in hand while hunting for another one next year. Congratulations to all who have checked their results and passed. The best is yet to come. Those who didn't do too well, God will make a better way for you. You aren't a failure! The test is even called quiz. It's not a true test of your character! Braze up for other times. It is well. (Interestingly, dedecoder is a graduate of Microbiology from OAU ife and an aspirant for this year's Unilag's MBBS. Hoping to meet my prospective "colleagues" . Shalom! |
Jamb: 258 PUTME: 27 Final score: 66.25 Programme: MBBS State: Osun Please, guys who are familiar with Unilag admission stuff should help assess this result and the chances. Thanks |
That something is going on as regards this year's Unilag post utme is no strange thing. The wind of change is blowing. Fasten your seat belt and guard your loins for the biggest surprises. Meanwhile, all statistics flying over here are baseless. Keep calm and wait. Wishing all success |
I hope Unilag is not up to anything sha? Post utme scores are released within 24hrs that they are written. Unnecessary delays like this encourages some kinds of manipulations Anyway, guys should calm down. No amount of upgrading can debar anyone who has worked and prayed hard from gaining entrance. Typically, every university leaves certain percentages of their admission quota for runs and big-legged people. So, in a dept that has 100 as the maximum, 80 pple are going to be by merit while the rest 20s are by ............... (Fill in d gap) In my own opinion, I think the result is a little bit late this year cos Unilag wants to do what we call NORMALIZATION/EVALUATION in biometry. Anyway, legs crossed. |
I'm happy that while many have been ignorantly ranting and foaming over my earlier post here, the sharp ones have taken note and cautioned themselves. To my cavilers and bigoters, I'll say in my mother tongue. "Igbeyin l'o n doloku ada" (what that one means, go find out). I have many other silent dedecoders in the house closely monitoring the garrulous ones. There's no need picking offense at my post. It's a word I said was sufficient ONLY for THE WISE. Keep pouring out the questions - all the alanis in the house
|
It's not only Childishness, it's stupidity for some individuals to come online and share their questions with the public when they know others haven't written theirs! In case you don't know, you are only technically knocking yourself out! In a competitous exams like this, wisdom demands that you hold your peace and let others feel what you felt. By letting the cat out of the bag, you are giving others undue advantages over you. They will do better than you and KNOCK YOU OUT!!! Same happened last UTME, it's happening now. Thos that did last passed most cos others have rehearsed all the questions into their ears. A word they say is sufficient for the wise |
nnachukz:I've always said it that there are indeed intellectuals on this platform. May you walk and never stumble sir! I'm looking keenly to see the difference between "stealing is not corruption" and "money alone is aid" as implied in this post. If you don't need aid, why leave the shores of your fatherland for 4days? You may say you don't need financial aid and we'll pardon you even though we know it's a big fallacy. But to say you don't need aid generally? I comment my reserve..... Lol |
Dear, I'm still wondering how you easily believed that she wasn't even testing you. To get a woman make such direct confession is rare. Believe me, a girl who can tell you that truth with such ease can as well take hold of herself. Is your relationship wholly and only tied to sexual intercourse? Or let me put it better, is it sex that attract you most to her? If so, you may do yourself some favour by just quitting NOW. Though I perceive some insincerity somehow on the part of the lady, I'll agree for this sake of this comment that she's telling the truth. If that however be the case, and your greatest attraction to her is s*x, again I say quit. Your trust for her has been tampered with and it's only a higher motivation that can restore it. Before you quit, take time to analyse if the act was a mistake or an habit. No mistake is below or above anyone. However, if it is an habit she has, what else can I say? Quit!!! It's better to have a broken courtship than a broken marriage! |
siraj1402:You could have left Jesus out of your comment. That name is precious and not to be used recklessly and for senseless jokes. Its appearance in your comment is needless. |
MRBrownJ:Dear friend, having read through virtually all the comments here, you sounded so articulate, tenacious and vehement that I'm begining to think that perhaps you are even the GUY in question. Maybe you have chosen this thread to respond(all a joke bro). The young Lady has admitted she made a mistake - one which is not really so uncommon anyway. But the greatest error she made was to have allowed Him get under her skirts! Now, sister Let me tell you one truth as a guy. The Lady we truly value, we don't behave as such as you have just narrated to. 7years isn't a joke and I feel issues like this should have long been settled. What am I saying? You may want to ask... I see that your gut is already telling you "DANGER". Why not prayerfully follow your mind? The still gentle voice is always there telling us the way but oftentimes, we allow our emotion and sentiments to cover it. Nevertheless, I urge you to take this one more step before you ACT. Calm down, give yourself time to reason. Take off the thought of marriage for a while and relate to the guy as usual. (Except sex)- I call this the Delilah's technique. As much as you can, demonstrate your love to Him and then meticulously express your fears. Let him know certain things are making you afraid. Then watch his countenance. Watch his deamenor. Listen to his response and then objectively consider them. If he still loves you, he'll allay your fears and give you a re-assurance but if you meet resistance, fight, anger e.t.c, then the handwriting on the wall is clear... QUIT!!! |
Another display of mediocrity in our Nation's journalism. Must you struggle this hard to find headlines? The man is only satirising. And if you know how to listen with understanding, the above headline is not implied in GEJ's speech. |
fallout87:Fine comment! The fact as it is! |
Both of them. |
?? You all are just throwing Unnecessary tantrums like small children, don't go and think of how to construct yourselves better than the "YOU" that just failed, stay here and complain....RUBBISH....una need slap.
