1) What is the probability that militant, terrorist won't infritrate it? If at national that could happened how much state?
2) tribalism
3) religion input
4) if ordinary local vigilante can misbehave like operate, the issue in Anambra etc what is the probability ut won't be worse under stare police?
5) political influence
6) power tussle between the federal and state police.
7) recruitment process: will it be strictly for the state indigenes or everyone? Etc

Has good as it sounds, nigerian will destroy it and the aim won't be achieved.

Federal system gives states the right, what you feel is inconsequential and unimportant, your governor can leave your state for bandits and kidnappers.

We are not one, we are a collection of tribes, focus on your state, this is what concerns you and what you can speak on.

Your state can be without it, mention your state and say we don't want it, not speaking for Nigeria, you are insignificant...you can only speak for your state. Nobody invited you to other states, if you don't like a state policing system you can leave.

People should focus on their state. I wonder who gave you insignificant people the right to speak for others, you can leave your state open for bandits to come rape your women and destroy your lands. Speak on your state, you are not everywhere in Nigeria.

A workable state police solution should be one where the number one boss is not a political appointment but appointed by a civil service process based on years in service, awards won while in service and inputs from civil society groups/community leaders. While a governor may have power to remove the person, he must not be given power to appoint. Even the removal must be only when there is evidence of corruption, abuse of due processes or serious petitions from the public on issues involving partisan and criminal behaviours from the leader. Upon removal, he must be entitled to his salary for life - incase it is politically motivated so that officers in that position will not bow to the whims and calories of the state governor even if they take operational instructions from them. The police boss salary must be deducted straight from the state allocation before the state gets it's share

These kids talking against it, should simply tell their own governors they don't want it, if they are not pleased that a state has it, they can leave the state. The police of a state will operate by the laws of the state, passed by it's parliament...some of them are typing from safe havens, if they ever have been kidnapped, they won't be talking against it.

State policing is a brainchild of Goodluck Jonathan's national conference. It is very much welcome but just like every other thing associated with the average Nigerian politician, it is subject to Bastardisation because of political witch hunting and other antisocial activities of state power brokers. I weep for the black man. We actually live out what president Botha of South Africa said during the days of apartheid when he said that guns given to a black man is to kill each other with it.

There are already a lot of uniformed mad people with guns out there, let us look well before leaping in this state policing too.

Every state parliament will make their laws that their police will follow, if you don't like it, stay in your state.

These northern politicians have evil intentions beneath this open support. They may be looking for a state police they can use for 2027 election rigging since it will be under their control. Tinubu has completely emasculated them and strapped them of their electoral value. I guess they are seeking to use the state police for a come back.
Northern politicians are not known to supporting good things. So this calls for suspicion of their true motives. Northern politicians who even lied that no more insecurity under buhari are now shouting everywhere about insecurity. Their brand of politics is unfortunate one

The reason we call for state police, is to allow every state to take charge of their state, and stop infiltration of terrorists and bandits. State parliament will make laws that their state police will follow, if you don't like a state system, live in your state.

State police is about survival, fighting the existential threat posed by the Fulani herdsmen and kidnappers...when you get kidnapped you will see the need for state to have their police.
