State policing is a brainchild of Goodluck Jonathan's national conference. It is very much welcome but just like every other thing associated with the average Nigerian politician, it is subject to Bastardisation because of political witch hunting and other antisocial activities of state power brokers. I weep for the black man. We actually live out what president Botha of South Africa said during the days of apartheid when he said that guns given to a black man is to kill each other with it.

There are already a lot of uniformed mad people with guns out there, let us look well before leaping in this state policing too.

Focus on your state, if you don't like a state policing system, stay in your state, you can advise your own state governor against it. You have no right to speak for other states. Mention your state and tell your governor that you don't want state police, you are not from every state. Your state can do without it, we need it in our states.

You seem to talk a lot, but seems you don't understand a thing about systems of government...first of all, your opinion is for you, you are insignificant, you can't decide for everyone, secondly,.you can't have regional government under a federal system, we had regional system before this federal system, hence regional government and federal system are two different forms of government. Thirdly in Nigeria, we all have been shouting we want our own country, true federalism is the closest to that, under true federalism all state are for themselves. You don't live in every state, focus on your state, that is your concern, if your state and other states in the region wants to cooperate, no one will stop you. I have seen that it is lazy People and states, parasitic states that are afraid of true federalism, you can't force people to deal with you or cooperate with you, so a state with its people can easily cooperate with themselves and come together to determine it's destiny...the reason we are calling for true federalism is so we save this nation from future violence.

It's not about what you feel or what is in your myopic head, true federal structure allows for state police, if your state likes you can open your state for bandits. Stop speaking for everyone, speak for your state, that is your business. We want state police in our own states. People are dying and more government forces are required to beef up existing numbers, we need more good men with AK 47, this is why we are calling for state police, it's a necessity, it's about survival, people are dying and being kidnapped and raped daily, not about your little feelings.

These governors are greedy, instead of using state funds and IGR to start state police, they are looking for money to stash and divert.

People are saying federal police is not good, that there is insecurity, that people are kidnapped and killed by terrorists, it's only necessary to have more officers out there with more automatic AK 47, to tackle terrorists, period. This is the issue.

How can people want state police and still expect federal government to run it for them, Nigerians are clueless and quite unintelligent, they deserve the governors they have.

Yes but the advantages far outweigh it's disadvantages. Amotekun is a case study. Despite the noise made back then, how many times have they fought or been used to fight opposition? How many times have governors sent them to harass the opponents? Don't they bear arms too?

The federal police are worse. In my presence in lagos, they've snatched ballot boxes, intimidated voters, been used several times by politicians nationwide to harass their enemies. With the State police, you'd know everyone in your domain and if an officer misbehaves, you know where he's coming from, who sent him and his family and you can call him to order.

No mind those lazy youths from lazy states, they say they want decentralisation and want their own control and autonomy, but state police is a way to decentralise power and lead to true federalism.

Most Nigerians are always looking out for their myopic interests, but the issue is, state police for now is a necessity, people are dying, the clowns are thinking of politics.

3) Rights of states to make laws, to protect their culture, traditions, spirituality and heritage.

States can remove trouble makers and extremists from their land.

Everyone focus on your state, let's work according to the spirit of true federalism, the men who chose this system, realise our differences, hence we all can individually determine our individual destiny, without dragging anyone back.

Are you in every state?

You have no say in what happens everywhere, focus on your state, if your state don't want police, leave it like that, you have no right to speak for everybody. Everyone wants their independence, nobody trust anybody, stay on your own.

In a federal system, states have rights to their own police, their own laws and resources... focus on your state, you are insignificant to speak for everybody.

We are talking of survival from terrorists and bandits you are talking of politics...you need to survive first before you do politics.

State police is supposed to be an inside business of states, but lazy Nigerians and their governors are waiting for Tinubu to start state police for them, later they will say president is controlling their state police.
