The Sage has spoken. We are Africans, only a slave have no culture, from his progenitors and ancestry. We are what we are, no matter how we try to run from who we are, we can't, we will still need to embrace it. All the experimentations with other overseas cultural faiths, and finding what's not lost, is why we are in this quagmire today as a nation, as it relates to insecurity and terrorism in the north.

This land bore us, this land will keep us, show respect to the land, by respecting it's cultural heritage, heritage of growth, peace, tranquility and respect for nature and mystics.

IG is an appointment position, not by year of service. It's the president's prerogative... according to the law... personally I don't think president should unilaterally appoint IG, etc, I think they should be a more democratic process where institutions like NBA, Judicial Council Police Council, Labour leadership can suggest candidates and a decision is made by the senate to select one out of all the suggested candidates. But as it is now, the constitution gives the president the prerogative.

You are the one rambling here. dederoc is teaching you crude oil geopolitics, instead of taking the time to learn, you are busy claiming the knowledge you do not possess.
Market forces are in charge now, there is no unified price now, OPEC only intervenes in times of emergency and adverse periods that requires intervention, but this rarely happens.

We operate a free market for the oil business now, there is no unified price. Economists and industry experts only speculate rates based on geopolitical and economic trends. This shows he doesn't know anything about the topic. This is not bloggers section...most of you should get basic knowledge before derailing discussions without any form of contribution. Intelligent contributions and debates is what bring solutions not ramblings. Give me valid points.

Northerners don't really love each other, everyone is just using the other over there. The way they treat their people, the value they attach to their people...not nice.

SeizeTheMemes:
This is a dream. Without OPEC we would be exploited even more because their would be no unified oil price control. Do you think we have the geopolitical power to just do that? Do you your government even wants domestic growth?

Every oil producing country is in OPEC apart from Russia which an observer and regional power and the us which is a global power.
Exploited by who?

I don't engage shallow people, let's keep the discussion intelligent, talk with evidence... exploited by who?

Am saying within Nigeria, you people talk for argument sake... please read to comprehend, I said in dire situations. Let's talk like intelligent people stay in context. I said in dire situations we can opt out temporary to save the economy, internally, within Nigeria...don't know what you are talking about 'unified price'...we don't have unified price now, market forces are in charge.

Please understand a discussion before jumping into it.

Basicend:
Hmm. If we pull from OPEC and start dictating our own price and production quota, it still does not solve the issue honestly.

The issue is not with revenue, but proper allocation, supervision and usage of the derived proceeds.

Our process is too weaved with corruption. That's why we are in same shoes as Venezuella etc.
We can still go back, but we can step out of it, at critical times. A lot of nations step out of international conventions that are not legally binding to protect their national interest, a lot of nations do this. Nation must thrive first.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Economy In Shock – Edun by dederocs(m):
We must indegenise our local economy policy, this is critical. Step out of using global rates for crude for now. We are a sovereign nation. It's better for the bulk of the money to be in circulation rather than be in the hands of political leaders or government...what I mean is, is fuel and diesel is cheap, based on our local rates, businesses, and Nigerians will be able to afford diesel and pms, which processes all our economic activities. The economic activities is the life blood of our nation, because less than 30% of the population is employed by formal sectors, the rest relying on the buoyancy of the economy to make a living...it must flow.

Go resign am. DSS are you sleeping?

That INEC chairman was duly positioned there now being threatened...if it's activists now they can be seen.

That man whatever he calls himself have no say or previledges in our constitution, he is an ordinary citizen as far as the constitution is concerned, I don't know why we give religious people previledges, that is why the north is in a dire situation now, giving undue previledges to people who contribute nothing, they are here to cause division, always dividing the people along religious lines. They hate him because he is Christian, but we have been having muslim INEC chairmen all these years, CAN didn't complain. This false sense of superiority is an illusion and will destroy the bearer.

What a disgrace to yoruba, are you now fulani pawns?

Where is your yoruba culture and heritage...I wonder how millions of yoruba will seat and watch people hijack their heritage, people that have been induced. What a shame. Awolowo and Akintola will be rolling in their graves.

Protect your rich culture don't abandon your culture and become subjects of an inferior culture...I don't know what is fashionable or interesting in that Arab culture that inspires bokoharam, iswap, lukurawa etc, seems you people want to take your peace you presently enjoy for granted.

Oracleee:
There’s a difference between lived reality and book reality.
People keep quoting theory like war is a classroom. There’s something called rules of engagement, yes but those are written for controlled understanding, not the chaos of real combat.

You’re told during BMT you must not shoot a defenceless enemy. For example, if an enemy is parachuting from a damaged aircraft, the rule assumes you don’t shoot until he lands. I remember this clearly when we were doing military law back then during BMT.

You’re also told you can’t shoot an enemy who has surrendered. In theory, once he drops his weapon and raises his hands, you’re meant to capture him, not harm him.
Now bring that into real life.
In actual combat, nothing is that clear, tension is high, and decisions are made in seconds. You don’t know who is truly defenceless, who is pretending, or what threat is still active.

That’s the gap people don’t understand.
It’s easy to talk about spacing, mine checks, and perfect decisions when you’re not the one moving into an ambush or trying to reinforce your own men under fire. Real situations come with pressure, adrenaline, incomplete information, and responsibility.
War is not a movie. It’s unpredictable, messy, and unforgiving. What looks obvious in hindsight is never that simple in the moment.
When the jungle matures, even the lion will eat grass.
Read what I wrote, no need to blab, not saying they didn't do their best. Stop repeating yourself. If convoy trucks are well spaced out they have an advantage.

For those giving unsolicited advice from the corner of their rooms, saying “they should have done better,” you really should understand this first.
It’s always easier said when you’re not on the front line. It’s easy to analyze and criticize when you’re not the one under attack.

When you’re in that moment, when the enemy is right in front of you, everything changes. All your training, all the tactics, all the strategies you thought you knew… they can fly out of your head in seconds.
What you’re left with is you and your instincts to survive.
You and your adrenaline.
And in that moment, you’re not even thinking about your country, your mission, or anything else anymore. You’re fighting for your life. You’re fighting to survive the next five minutes.
So for those on the sidelines saying, they should have known the areas will be compromised, honestly you don’t fully understand what you’re saying.

Maybe you’ve never been there.
Maybe you’ve never experienced that kind of pressure, that kind of fear, that kind of reality.
But if you ever have, even once, if you’ve ever been in a situation where your life was truly on the line, you’ll understand this better.
Because in moments like that, logic fades.
Tactics fade.
Even training can fade.
And what you’re left with is one thing,
Your instinct to survive.

RIP Colonel Muhammed.
Convoy trucks must give space from each other, at least 25 Meters apart, it will be hard to ambush them all at once this way, as few casualties will be recorded from an ambush and the others incoming can counter fire...even mines will be less effective. Anti mine forward vehicles are needed.

You are right, imagine NSA and Chief of Army using words like our brothers,
Egypt, Japan, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, America used this tactics, and they have no internal terrorists problems. Nigerian leaders are horrible and weak, very weak, all about consumption and enjoyment to them...this plus the extremism prevalent in northern Nigeria, but even with that, if the leaders are firm, brutal and decisive with terrorists, they will either leave Nigeria or be dead.

The US are always hijacking and seizing ships on international waters. It's high time the world stops that nonsense.

It's the same with High way robbery
US has opened the strait. Iran won't be able to sell oil, Iran will stop threatening to mine and blow up cargo ship, which is a terrorist act. The regime uses terrorists tactics. America didn't stop cargo ships, Iran did. The US will allow other cargoes except Iran till they stop sabotaging the world economy and intending to carry out international sea piracy extortion. International waters are free, we can't allow a bad precedence of extortion on international waters as Iran has clearly stated it will be collecting toll...which is unacceptable to international maritime law. I wonder how you people thought Iran will be allowed to extort the world.
