I just got my visa approved about 30 minutes ago . Thanks to everyone who took their time to post on this thread , it helped prepare me for the likely questions.
However, I made sure to not read people’s answers because I wanted my own responses to be unique .

Hi, did you cancel your appointment? If yes , were you able to book another for a later date or you’d have to pay another MRV fee for another interview ? Because I don’t think I can come to terms with paying another MRV fee when I didn’t even initiate the cancellation. It won’t be fair

I am also wondering if it’s possible for a school to give over 2 weeks extension , wouldn’t it even affect the whole process if you go for interview 2 weeks after classes have resumed

Guys please urgent help is needed. The consulate automatically rescheduled my appointment from the 24th of December to Jan 28th loun loun when my start of classes is 13th of January. I tried requesting for an emergency interview but for reasons known to them , it was denied. I also can not reschedule because it is showing that I have rescheduled once ( please note that I wasn’t even the one that did o, they did ��)

My heart is broken but I’m considering a deferral like someone advised. Now my question is , is it possible to defer to summer so that I start my program during the summer instead of waiting all till fall

There is no problem getting new passport photographs if it won't cost you much. During my time, I used a 3 year old picture for my DS160 so I don't think new look or old look really matters.
I've seen people that don't resemble the picture on their international passport, yet they still travel everywhere with the passport

I recently changed my look, i cut my hair for some reasons while i had really long hair when i filled my DS 160 form. Do i take another set of passport photographs with my current look when going to the embassy for my interview or use the old passport and wear a wig for the interview. i'm confused. The old passport doesn't really look like me though, i think i was really stressed out that day.

Please it’s urgent. I want to confirm if the bank needs to send a soft copy of my financial statement to the embassy before my interview. The account officer is saying they need to forward the soft copy to the embassy and I have never heard of such anywhere. Is it true ? Who knows anything about this please

I have been trying to upload passport on DS 160 site , everything about the passport looks great but it keeps saying illumination poor. I have done everything possible but not working, I’m exhausted

I left a comment here about GCE ( Global Credential EValuators) marking down my cgpa and giving me Fs in some places. Well, it turned out that the error was from Unilorin oooo so i urge you all to always ask to see your transcript for confirmation before it is sent to WES or any evaluation company you want to use. They were so nice, tried to save me money by asking the school to send the correct one via email, even told me to only pay for the delivery of another report to the school instead of paying another fee all over again but before all of these could be done, the school already gave me admission with the former report they sent.
Id totally recommend GCE guys, fast and amazing service tbh.
I had my transcript sent, evaluated and gained admission in less than 20 days!

I came here sometime last month lamenting about WES because of the waec thing and the delays, there was someone here who had been waiting for over two months for WES.

Well, I ended up using GCE and even though their website says 10-15 working days for no rush service, i ended up getting my report in 5 working days without paying for rush service. It cost me about 68k as compared to 90 something K by WES.

Now the only coma is, unlike WES, GCE marked down my GP. For everywhere that University of Ilorin left blank because we were not awarded grades for industrial trainings, GCE gave me an F so they gave like 3 Fs in all 3 unit Industrial training courses instead of leaving it blank

I was given a gpa of 2.86 which isn't bad but compared to my 2.1 cgpa , i was furious. They already had it shipped to the school and it is still okay to get me an admission but i will reach out to them for a review if its possible.

So if you are stuck in making decisions , this might help you especially now that WES has cancelled Waec ( It was cancelled couple of days after i paid for GCE sadly)
If you have a low Cgpa , Use WES
If you have limited time frame then you could consider other options.

That’s crazy. I am a lady though and I had a 2.1 in civil engineering. Hopefully GCE doesn’t slash my CGA but I will try them out because I don’t even have time off from work to be doing any WAEC waka. Let’s pray yours is ready soon

If your Degree is ‘somehow ok’ pls just run from WES bro. I’m begging you. I started my Evaluation since late June, this is September and still i’m Yet to get result. A lot of fund spent. My Application deadline submission is Oct 1. I’m very sure I won’t make the deadline due to this ‘WESing’

Thanks a lot for this. I just realized the school said we are allowed to use either GCE or WES so I think I am going to be opting for GCE. Though some people say WES has a better grading system

I heard WES started the WAEC inclusion of recent, which is actually annoying and cause delay and stress with EXTRA CASH

PS: there are other Evaluation agency aside WES thou, which are also accredited like WES. E.g ECE, GCE etc which do not even require WAEC for there Evaluation. Lesser Money sef.

I'm Currently stuck with WES atm so i'm advising you to check others out.

I recently just started my application for a graduate program at Praire View and while I am still awaiting the reference number from the school , I stumbled on the Wes website and posts from people saying apart from transcript evaluation, I’d have to submit waec results and scratch card.
I am confused because my friend did his around August last year and only submitted his university transcript.

I agree with the person that replied. Ago is mostly dominated by igbos but not tribalistic. It's really a friendly place to live in, a conducive environment to raise children and it's a secured place. I currently live in Ago Palace and no regrets for almost a year now.
