Hmmm.You can say that again.
The information on this thread is valuable. Like I was surprised, I applied last week 19th online early hours and did biometrics same day,got request for org.passport over the weekend and passport back today valid 2019.
All I attached was same as overlord77 application mentioned on this thread, whom I read his profile and followed same as well as other infor on the thread.I also read the student thread as well to understand the application requirements.

Congratulations again. But do you have Canadian TRV valid till November 2017 before you applied for this? Perhaps thats why it was fast tracked.

Depending on where you are in Ikeja, take a bus going to Obalende or CMS. Drop at the last busstop. Take another bus going to Lekki Jakande. Drop at Ikate roundabout busstop, cross over to the other side of the road and walk into the estate gate. Immediately you enter the estate just walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes and you have arrived at your destination (Manor Hall)which would be on your left. You cannot miss it because immediately you enter the estate gate, you will see those photocopy guys, passport photo guys etc asking you if you need their services. be careful with them though. ensure you go straight to the building (manor hall) and talk to the security about your reasons for coming. They will issue you a number and let you into the compound and direct you to the Canada office. All the best.

Thanks a million.. God bless

Go straight to the airlines website.I reserved on air France and Ethiopia airlines. They don't require that you put in credit card details. Just choose the option of paying in their office. its valid for 2 days or so. Don't bother about the duration of the validity. Just reserve, save on your desktop and upload. They know its not a confirmed ticket cos they don't require you to pay for one b4 you get your visa.

Great.. Thanks for the information

Even if you have an invite letter, what is the purpose of your trip? I know some people provide a day to day activities and what they will be doing in Canada. When I invited my mum for my graduation. I uploaded my graduation invitation as her purpose of travel and on the IV letter I wrote she would stay for a couple of weeks afterwards cos I had not seen her in 2 years.Yes you can upload your flight itinerary/reservation. They advise you don't pay for a ticket until your visa is approved.

I tried to reserve a flight for itinerary purposes but it requested filling in credit card details on flighthub. How can I reserve a ticket and have the pdf itinerary without paying for it please?

I know this is not convenient but please can you post a screen shot of your application status here. You can track it online at https://portal.immigration.gov.ng/visa/OnlineQueryStatusReport and enter your application Id and reference number from the slip you were given when you registered. Or you could post it if you cant do the wahala and bot mind. I want to know what your last "current application status" showed before you collected it..Please..

I finished service May 4, applied April 12. Include your NYSC letter of posting and acceptance letter carrying possible date of discharge. If you are close with your boss at PPA, they can also add a letter just to show that you have something doing in Nigeria hence you will return. All the best.

Thank you very much. I have a nice rapport with my VP (Serving in a secondary school) and will try to get a letter from her although I didn't want her to know my plans but now I will.

I applied via paper route.
Yes you can use the documents as home ties. Since the building plan shows that it isn't a bare land. I think that's fine.

Congratulations.. I went through the documents you submitted. I see you included NYSC Call up, POP and ID card. This insinuates you are currently serving. Is this correct.? I have been thinking very much about this as I am currently serving and want to apply for a Canadian TRV but kinda scared to declare my NYSC status. You know the " you are not allowed to travel out of the country except on approval of the DG" nonsense... Was scared CIC know about this. Please clarify your nysc status at the moment of application.. I think I will use it as home ties for a visitors visa. Also, how did you avoid getting a letter from your POP or LGI.. I'm just wowed.please respond asap please. This is very important to me. Advise is welcome and appreciated.. Thanks and Congratulations again.

I'm a student in the US. I submitted the following:

Teaching assistantship letter
Payslips
Employment verification letter
Lease agreement
Bank statement
Proof of payment of tuition
Fellowship letter
Proof of enrollment
Detailed itinerary
Letter of explanation
Invitation letter with all her details

That's about it.

Thanks. Your situation is quite different but somewhat related.. I can see the ties to US clearly. I appreciate you time. Thank you

It's not cast in stone. I got a visa to visit my fiancee.

Oh! Thank you! Some hope there.. However, did you have the home ties hurdle? When did you get the visa? If you don't mind, can you list docs presented especially the ties? I need to see my wife seriously... Loneliness is killing me o

Hi deejay102, why do you have so much doubt? You know every application is different. People who earn four times my salary get denied visas daily while secondary school students get approved daily. Every application is assessed differently and circumstances differ. Ties evaluation is a wholistic approach. Please make sure you eventually clear these doubts before applying to get value for your money. If you apply for a visa with doubts, it'll hardly come out well. A VO is trained to see through your application. Be patient. Best of luck

Thank you once again for stopping by. Always appreciated. What I am doing is actually trying to clear my doubts or at least address it in my explanation.. I understand applications are different and each treated uniquely. I am doing my best to have an air tight application to the best of my ability and as confidently as I can. Thank you again.

He can abandon his house, have someone else run his shop and he probably isn't the only grandchild his grandparents have. Having a girlfriend/wife in Canada is a strong tie to Canada and that is problematic.

Is it a crime to have a gf/wife in Canada and want to visit? Even though this is what experience says, I feel it isn't cast in stone. If you have a job, kids and all here as home tiez, the individual can also abandon them all if the motive is to stay and look for means of bringing the kids over later. What if it is the entire truth that the applicant has a house, a shop and grandparents as the only ties? Does that mean he will never be granted a visa? Na wa for this canada ppl self.

Hello all,

Please, does anyone know someone who has applied to visit Canada while still undergoing NYSC and got approved please?

I wanna know if to use this as a tie or not

Please help With the above. Also, is it compulsory to attach marriage and birth certificates of all my siblings even if they are not requesting visa. I saw this in a pdf file on cic. Problem is their certificates have been altered and I don't want any kind of falsification whether directly or indirectly. Thanks

dear deejay102, ties to home country are what VOs are looking out for. it is good to be honest here but a VO is specifically trained to weigh your connection to your home country and the reason for your visit and judge if the applicant will come back. i neither know how they're trained nor how they judge circumstances around an application but you already have doubts. this means your application will most likely be refused. your ties are limited and apparently the most important thing/person in your life now is in canada. the VO knows about this.
why would you want to stay back on a visit visa anyway? this is the 21st century and things dont work easily that way anymore. you cannot work legally on a visit visa and canadians are too loyal as they will ask to see a work permit even for the flimsiest of jobs. you dont have medicals covered as a visitor and as an overstay, if you get into a situation and end up in a hospital, it may be from there to detention then airport for deportation. if you hear police siren, you heart will skip. you cannot open a bank account or dive a car because once you get pulled over its a problem and if you eventually get deported, you can kiss Canada, US, UK, Australia and Newzealand bye for at least 5 to 10 years as they use a very cooperative immigration history system.
my advice is to clear your doubts before applying. if your nysc is significant, use it as a tie. if the land can be yours or shown to be yours in the future, get documented evidence. maybe finish nysc and get a job, preferably in line with what you studied and work for a while. maybe have your wife visit again and take more pictures with a camera that imprints date in pictures. also have pictures from her previous visit and the wedding. you have a great burden to overcome so throw at it all the evidence you've got. relevant evidence i mean.
best of luck.you need it.

Thanks alot for the detailed insight. I have taken cues from your write up. I will be giving it a shot. I'd appreciate more advise knowing I will go ahead.. Thanks

I know its 60k if one party is a non-Nigerian I am not so sure if its also 60k if both are Nigerians and one party is abroad, So is your spouse a foreigner if yes the 60k is in order, someone from Benin rep wanted to marry a Nigerian the day I went there and it was 60k plus a lot of documentations.

As for the license or certificate stuff, whatever you hear from their staff you meet at the registry will be the authentic info.

Get the phone number of another staff at the registry and confirm again.

Thanks a lot

They are different. A marriage license is to hold the wedding ceremony, and then you have to file a marriage certificate in the appropriate registry.

Thank you very much

When I wanted to get married, they told me the same thing. Although it was about N45k or thereabouts in 2010. The list of requirements were cumbersome so we didn't bother and just got our licence in UK.

Thanks.. Is marriage license same as marriage certificate??
