Anyways, I learned a thing or two from the write up. Please proceed with the good information you are giving. We would like to see you succeed in your saving plans and leave this nay sayers. yemiosinbajo: What I'm confused about is what problem you have trying to analyze another man's mother. Well, Yes teachers earn over 130k in Nigeria even as a government worker level 13 upwards. It is her call and that of her family to go wherever and rest so wetin happen? Haven't you heard of people holding top positions in firms in Nigeria and earning that 400k or more relocating to Canada? It is not about luxury but a working country and trying to secure the future of one's children. Why didn't you stay back too.. Please quit trying to understand what is none of your business and let the guy be! 63 Likes 4 Shares |

oluayebenz: You guys crying foul just just shut your mouths please. If you have a problem with the thread, state it nicely and move on, or just shut up altogether. You are simply pessimists who dont believe anyone can do great things. If you cant make such in 100 years, that is your problem. Do you people even know that amount can be saved in Nigeria. I know people making not less than 5k USD monthly in this Lagos from their "Homes" LEGITIMATELY!.. The OP worked and saved 7k in 2 months and you are crying. Please go else where to bury your faces abeg! I hope @atutupoyoyo2211 does not get moved by your silly comments and continue. If he does, shame on you guys as you have proven to be a total failure who cant motivate a rat. I pity your children @opebiboy and others. 42 Likes 3 Shares |

Nanain: About the spring semester resumption. It is not true. Each student have their term and you will be classified as spring semester term. A friend of mine resumed UG in February and there is no problem at all. Yes you can fly anywhere you please during holidays and whenever for that matter provided you have required visa/papers. As for working, I don't know. |

It is okay to be skeptical, especially when traveling to a place for the first time. Truth is that many that tells you to be careful and all only do so based on information online. They haven't really been there yet. It is not a recognized country to the world, this it true but you can do pretty much everything you will do and more (compared with Nigeria) with a fully acknowledged country. They are in close relationship with Turkey, which means they stand on Turkey's shoulders for everything. In other words, Turkey allows them to do everything as a country. Whatever cant be done( eg visas for some countries) or may not be recognized bearing the TRNC status can be done in Turkey. I have tried it so I know. Notwithstanding, there are enbassies here. US and Turkish embassies I know for certain. As for the schools, don't let anyone deceive you further. The schools are recognized globally. Students transfer and get admitted to schools in US, Canada and Europe with their North Cyprus diplomas everytime. Again, the accreditations are from Turkey and other international bodies. North Cyprus although small, is far better than Nigeria in all ramifications. Everything works here. Make your plans before things get tougher to get in. Most importantly, have your funds to care for your stay and school.. Jobs are scarce and cant pay your tuition if you are lucky to get one. Language is a problem. Despite the lies everywhere and little truth in the exaggerations about North Cyprus, I came here last spring and I confirm that many are not true. You can always get things done. Dont do drugs or illegal stuff, dont fight or cause trouble and you will enjoy Kibris. Good luck friend. |

Hello New Students, Congratulations on your admission and Visas ( best wishes to those yet to get theirs). I am a Masters student at CIU. As @Wip7 always say, be financially prepared before coming to the Island. Your first task will be to secure an accommodation. I can assure you, it is not the easiest as a new student. If you arrange airport pick up and you know nobody on the Island, you will be taken to the school hostel where you are to pay about 50 Turkish Lira per night. So be prepared to pay for your accommodation immediately. An idea of the fees is between 350 - 400 GBP per month (Lefkosa axis) for a 3 bedroom apt which can be shared. Contact me if you would like me to help you secure a place(your room) and save yourself from paying per night.. Welcome to Cyprus, you will love it here if you are clear headed. 1 Like |

veifiedceejay: Both speculations are false. You can book a one way ticket and can also fly other airlines like Egypt air, Qatar airways etc as long as you hold an unconditional letter because they will ask for it at almost every point especially at MMIA and Ercan. The advantage of flying Turkish air is that you fly directly to Turkey from Lagos and to Ercan. In less than 9hrs flying time you are here while other airlines will first take you to their country before connecting to Ercan(North Cyprus) and are generally cheaper but longer. |
