Concerning legalisation of documents for admission, that depends on your school. If they request that you legalise your documents then you have to. If they don't or they give an alternative to legalisation then you also follow that.
However for the visa application, you must legalise your documents

For POF, you can't do half and half. You have to use one if the three options: Blocked account, Sponsorship (Annexe 32) or Scholarship

Hello beautiful people I have a question
I am a Nigerian who lives in armenia came here to do masters in management and I want to do a masters 2 in vub university in Belgium.
My docs have been authenticated at min of edu in Abuja do I still need to legalize to apply to universities ? And also how much is proof of funds for visa application and can I use my family friend who is a Belguim citizen as part sponsor example , maybe I show 4000 euros in my own account then I submit his own account for like 10,000 euros .
Please anyone with info can reply to this thank you and God bless

Student jobs are available and easy to get in Belgium especially in the Flanders region. You work 20 hours a week, but can work more hours during the holidays

Belgium gives you 1 year after your studies to look for a job. The requirements are similar to what you need to get your permit: Insurance, proof of funds, Belgium degree certificate etc. I believe are the main ones. You can search for more details online just Google "zoekjaar Belgium"

For the Belgium study visa you need one of the three: blocked account, Annexe 32 (Sponsorship) or Scholarship

Learning the language is always advantageous. Getting a job without knowing the language depends on your experience, what you studied, skills and certificates you have etc

Guruindahouse:
Is there anyone in Belgium that can tell us about work as a student. Is it that difficult to get any form of job for a start as a student? What are the requirements to get post study permit after your study? Do we need block accounts for the visa? Is there opportunity to get tech(Data Analytics) jobs without proficiency in their languages?

Travel / Re: Anyone Studying With Scholarship To Belgium? by DeeKeem(f): 5:25pm On Apr 10
There are 3 ways to prove financial sufficiency for Belgium
1. Blocked account
2. Annexe 32 (Sponsorship)
3. Scholarship

The Scholarship has to be something official, where you and other candidates have applied and based on your application the Scholarship was awarded. You cannot just generate a document and say you have a scholarship

If the person in US just wants to help fund your travel then he can pay in the amount into your blocked account.

Good luck

chidosky4ril:
Hello everyone,

I'm seeking advice regarding my student visa application for KU Leuven University for entry in September 2024. A family friend who owns a company in the US has generously offered to provide a scholarship document to cover my living expenses in Belgium. I'm wondering about the feasibility of obtaining a visa with this scholarship and what specific documents would be required from his company. Since he's based in the US and there's no direct family relationship, I understand the Annex 32 form wouldn't be applicable. Does the scholarship document need to be legalized with the Belgian Embassy in the US before sending it to me or just the documents only? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated to avoid potential errors and visa denials.

Thank you!

Chidi

Thanks. One question: if one's sponsor resides in Belgium, how does the sponsor go about getting the sponsorship form? And is it required for the sponsor to send the form from Belgium to the student in Nigeria or the sponsor can submit it to them over there?

They should contact the Stad where they live. They will provide detailed information about how to sponsor a student

1. Please can anyone share any details about the questions they were asked during the interview? For Example, Did they ask about your flight details or for your statement of account.
2. I am using a blocked account, and on the visa application form I indicated that the school would be funding my stay, Is that the correct thing to do?

Thanks in advance.

They won't ask about flight details or any other proof of funds (since you are using blocked account)

2. You are supposed to indicate that the visa applicant is funding his/her stay (since you used blocked account). Also I hope you filled the online visa application form

Send an email to me, I'll tell you about the interview questions

Have already followed the steps and posted it last week. But haven't gotten feedback from them. That's why am asking if someone had used that method recently, so I can know what's happening.

If you did everything exactly right, you will hear from them.

If you are still worried, you can call the embassy to find out if something is wrong

Is a waec certificate sufficient to apply for a Bsc program in Belgium?

Yes. But you might need other documents like SAT,TOFL/IELTS etc depending on the school.

Also note that there are not many Bsc options in English in Belgium.
But check schools like:
KU Leuven
Odisee University College
Thomas More
VUB

(Check as many schools as possible)

- collect and fill form with passport photo at 8th floor
- collect legalized documents on 8th floor (signed and stamped)

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS [ABUJA]
At Foreign Affairs, call Ugbonna Charles*

...Documents required...

√ Waec certificate
√ University degree
√ University Transcript
√Birth Certificate from Local government
√Police character form (Alagbon) (5,000)
√ Medical report from St Francois Ikoyi (50,000)

I'm not sure if I understand your post or not.
But you don't need to authenticate and legalize the medical report. (Actually don't even open the sealed envelope)

Also you don't need birth certificate for study visa

Pls where can I do police character clearance in Abuja? How much does it cost?

Technically you can do the fingerprints and fill the form in any major police station.
But it rarely works that way, you'll need a contact

There is a document on the VFS website, I think it is called 'Approved medical practitioners' it has the address and phone numbers for the approved hospitals in Lagos and Abuja

You can call the hospital to confirm the price.

Good morning all,

Quick questions,

In filling the visa application form,

1. What should be the duration in days for a two years master's degree program? I was planning to write 730 days. That's 365 X 2

2. In filling the Funding part, I made use of BLOCKED ACCOUNT. My mother is my sponsor. Should I pick the option for personal funding or sponsored funding. Thereafter, how should I specify that means of the fund is through Blocked account. Cos there was no option for it.

3. I wanted to opt for multiple entries. But their is this caveat about having sufficient medical insurance in choosing that. Any advice on which to pick, single entry, double entries and multiple entries?

Thanks

The other questions have been answered.

For number 2 since you are using blocked account, stay is financed by VISA APPLICANT
They don't care where you got the money from, and the document you will present to the embassy for proof of blocked account has only your name on it (it doesn't mention where the money came from)

Good evening everyone,

I am trying to legalise my documents at the Embassy, which I will use for the purpose of applying for student visa.

Do I need to legalise photo copies of the documents bearing in mind that the embassy demands submission of two photo copies of each document during visa application submission

You legalize only the documents needed (not their photocopies).

After the documents are legalized, you will then make photocopies for the visa application.

For all that are applying for visa:
Please read the document attached and follow all the instructions.

It tells you the documents you need, what you need to legalize, the documents your sponsor needs to provide etc.

Please make sure you have this document and have read through it thoroughly.

Good luck!!

Greetings,

Please I will like to ask if VFS global usually ask for additional supporting documents aside the ones listed on their website or the embassy during interview. Like letter of introduction from employer/academic institution(for students), hotel reservation or travel ticket reservation?

Thanks in advance.

VFS follows the checklist exactly. They will not ask for any other document that is not on the checklist. Just make sure your documents are legalized properly and everything is complete.
After the submission and your documents reach the embassy, they will reach out if they need any other thing.
But you won't be asked for things like ticket reservations etc.

It's not very likely that sponsorship letter 'expires'.
A couple of friends have been using the same letter from Feb 2017 till this session. And they study at KU Leuven. Meaning their Stad is Leuven.

Okay then, guess I got wrong information

Have you tried to use anyone from say the UK or the US? You don't have to necessarily be family with them. They just need to present your related documents at the Belgium embassy and state that they'll sponsor your education. I'll advise they state the year to be at least up to the end of your study so you don't have to redo it annually.

Thing is that, it's quite tough to get people to help you with such inside Belgium as many have 'taken charge' for other students or not earning enough to add a family member.

For your friends, they must be earning enough. As they will have to show payslip. So better to use someone who's single or with a small sized family with reasonable income.

My Resumption is in September, when is the appropriate time to legalize my Annex 32?

Usually when you process the Annex 32, the legalization is done at the same time.

But on a general note, you can apply for the visa at least 3 months from your travel date.

So you should do all your legalization(s) and document processing around the same time.

Great. Thanks for your input.

I will do as you suggested. My only problem would just be getting to the facility from France here. I can get a train from France here to Mol. But from Mol to the facility, I might use Uber.

What's the general language in Mol?
French or Dutch?

Uber seems like a good option, hopefully drivers will be available.

Mol is in the Antwerp province, so it is Dutch speaking. Most people in the Dutch communities speak English really well, and are also willing to speak English.
