I just laugh when people compare rotten apples in an attempt to pick out which is good. I can emphatically tell you that no Nigerian University teaches engineering but history of engineering. How can you call yourself an engineer when you can't design? I am a graduate of mechanical engineering(production option) from a federal polytechnic, yes i have an HND not B.Sc or B.Eng. I am a technologist as those degree holders claim we are not engineers but am glad i never read engineering in any Nigerian University. The purpose of education is to teach the students how to think and not to fill the minds of the students with facts, engineering graduates from Nigerian Universities can only talk (theory) and as they say, talk is cheap and even these theories can not be translated into designs. During my youth service, i openly challenged all the engineering graduates there to prove they can design anything since they claim we the HND guys don't know how to design, the fact is can Nigerian engineers design?...if not why are they called engineers? I want to send this message to all engineers who graduated from Nigerian University, stop dragging the technologist jobs with us in companies...please Nigeria and we the so-called technologist(HND graduates) depend on your designs to develop this great nation. so, my point is, guy just join the train and study engineering in any university of your choice, none of them is offering the engineering courses as obtainable in advanced world. If you really want to practice engineering, travel out of the country to study if you must stay in Nigeria, you don't even need HND...go for ND in engineering and train yourself thereafter. The level of engineering practice in Nigerian is still at ND level. I am not saying our polytechnics are anyway better talking about the rot in our education sector but as far as engineering is concerned, you will not loose it all when you study in a Polytechnic as you will learn little practicals and this will serve as a good foundation for you to improve on when you finish your ND and move on to train yourself in an institute like IIT(institute for industrial training). After i graduated in 2009, i took up the challenge to add to my practical knowledge and since i can't afford the cost of training in IIT, i started by learning arc welding as a mechanical engineering graduate with concentration on production...yea, from the local welders and after that i learnt different machining operations and i can now work on lathe machine, milling machine e.t.c, i learnt AutoCAD 2D/3D so i can use my PC to make my design drawings. so presently am at the final stage of setting up a company that will fabricate plastic milling machine, block moulding machine, paint mixing machine e.t.c using locally available materials(i've even fabricated and sold two plastic milling machines, they are presently in use at Ile-epo oja,oke-odo area of lagos by those who source for waste plastic products from dumping sites, mill them and bag the output for sale in plastic manufacturing companies) and now i don't have to run around in search for job. The point is, no school taught me all these but i could only think in this direction because of my practical background in the polytechnic. I dare any University graduate to try this. Education is at zero level in Nigeria but i just hate it when people come to sing OAU,UNILAG,UI,UNN,ABU to my ear, can't speak of other courses like arts for example but engineering is crap in all this schools. WE are still studying history of engineering in Nigeria. |
odinikpo: Good afternoon,Can i see pictures...and whats the power requirement in powering the machines? |
learnt a lot from this thread...thanks guys |
my problem with this NOUN programme is actually the recognition and acceptance of the certificate after graduation. I strongly believe in the school as the most effective and flexible way of learning as obtainable in advance world but we know what is obtainable in Nigeria as regards discrimination of one certificate from the other...are you sure employers will not discriminate this NOUN certificate as against the conventional Universities....I want reasonable answers please, am not condemning the School. |
ukachimo: We have 512kbps/128kbps unlimited and 1mbps/256kbps unlimited for N15,000 and 70,000. respectively per month.So...for any of these now, how much will i need in total for the set-up fee and my first month subscription? |
answers....the configuration is for four thin clients cos am using a try-version timer which can only support up to four stations pmictltd: Dear Deesquare-diddy, |
ukachimo: I can also give you registered Antamedia Hotspot Manager, which you can use as timer in your lab to regulate both the wired and the wireless network or even a thin client network, and save your internet from over-use.presently i run an internet cafe using thin clients...can ur timer truly work with thin clients?....am interested. |
Just few months ago, i set up a cyber cafe using thin clients, the problem of thing client is the timer to use and when u finally get a timer that work, you have to pay exorbitant rate to get it unlike the normal computer timers. Secondly, during usage, the response is always slow, graphics hang, there is no smooth scrolling of pages and customers complain of it. Thank god i have the normal computers, if not i'll have closed down as customers always turn down using the thing clients. |
Please respond to this, cafe operators in Abeokuta as i also need answer to this question. Thanks |
pekelepekele: What is happening here is that they are all Bisexuals ., When Paul met Peter his John Thomas couldn't let him control himself and that led to the three of them living together having each other anuses with the woman Kitty . If not how on earth is that possible?exactly my thoughts...those two guys are gay, how on earth will such arrangement work if the two guys ain't Zap.i.n.g?....lol |
vision2050: Degree holders spent 4-5 years in school employe on level 08/step2I disagree with you on this...for HND engineering/technical courses...its same Level 8, your analysis if for HND graduates of business/management alone. In engineering, both B.Sc and HND have different roles and are both employed to GL 08...why go to a polytechnic that is designed for technical education to study a management course in the first place? These forms part of the reasons that are bastardizing the polytechnic education...my cousin an HND graduate works with bureau of lands and survey in Ogun state. She is in Level 8. |
well...after reading all the post on this thread...here is my view I don't believe there is anything like late or early marriage, rather one should marry when he/she is financially, mentally stable to raise a family. Now, permit me to say this yoruba adage "bi Taye se yanri, ko ni kehinde se yan tie"...meaning that even though twins were given birth to same day, they may not share the same destiny. So, the issue of marriage has a lot to do with choice, luck and destiny. Its always better to marry early if you meet the right partner and have the financial/mental power to support a family(am sure everyone desire that) but what if you can't find the right person(mostly ladies) as you so desire or you're still struggling with finance(mostly guys), will you kill yourself?(marry the wrong guy cos of early marriage "for ladies" or marry in abject poverty subjecting your children to same thing you went through while hoping things will get better?) Now a lot will say i don't have faith, and that's where we do get it wrong in Africa hence the level of poverty we are experiencing. We believe one has to raise kids immediately after marriage(no chance to plan before the kids start coming)...so,if you are lucky to have it all at a younger age, pls marry early, its good but if you can't get all you want in marriage on time, wait till you're ready. Don't bow to pressures of age limits...marriage no be beans o. For ladies who come here to boast they don't want to get married and/or raise kids(but crying and praying in silence cos their time don dey pass, market don dey finish for shop), its a lie. Even though this marriage issue is just about following conventions and societal values, every man/woman want a family of their own, even when they don't admit. If you say marriage is bowing to societal pressure,we all bow to societal pressures everyday...about 70% of the decisions we make in life are not really ours but that which people expect of us,take it or leave it... Finally, marry early if you're lucky to find the right partner for you and ready(mentally and financially) to raise a family. If you're not ready don't ever rush because of your age, pressures or because your mates are married. The future of the kids you'll produce as a result of that marriage should be your concern,if not people that hail you for marrying early will mock you when things go wrong...if God bless person with money and better wife/husband, marriage sweet o....lol...(law of karmal(my own version) states that ladies/guys that feels they are single and happy will end up regretting at older age....the mam will not have children to inherit his kingdom and continue to bear his name, the women who use themselves for aristo, market will finish in the shop, guys will no longer appreciate it, the need to satisfy sexual urge will be there because the P-point is used to different D-stick...so all the money they collected from the sen, chiefs and alhajis will be paid back to sugar boys to help them brush that thing...isn't that karmal....hehehe...at that stage(45-55yrs),the single ladies of today will be so desperate...their eye go don clear...lol |
danny301: If your father got married at 35 and could not keep his marriage then i feel that should not be blamed on early marriage because their is nothing early about a man marrying at 35 or woman marrying at 26..... Am sure if ur father had waited till 45 and ur mother 40 their marriage would still fail... Maturity is needed for any marriage to survive but you must know that 'age is no guarantee of maturity'... A good example of the fact that age is different from maturity is what u are writing about some one u called ur friend in a social net-work just becos he took 40k from u and/or u assisted him in fending for his family, such is immaturity on ur side and perhaps it was something like that, that affected ur father's marriage.... I feel People like u will still have fail marriage even if you marry at 60, becos u look like one who talks too much which is the greatest problem in marriage.#Gbam!#...guy you too much o....u dey treat people Bleep-up die...lmfao |
danny301: The take-home point from your comment is that u desire to marry but Mr. Right hasn't surface yet, that is understood, but trying to rubbish nobility of the institution called marriage and the blessedness of child-bearing is batty..... After all the poster did not ask you to go and commit suicide becos u aren't married rather he was saying if one is afforded the opportunity marry early it's a good thing...... Talking about being successful in ur career, if look around u will see married people that are more successful in their careers more than u think u are hence being single or married does not guaranteed anybody a successful career neither does it distract people...... I don't where you live but i know that marriage is one institution that is esteemed in all societies, beside all rational human beings (and even some animals)regardless of their status see child-bearing as a special blessing so if in ur thirties u don't think or imagine that u are suppose to have children some days then u need to examine your kind of person.#gbam!#...u just dey treat people Bleep-up here....lwkmd |
First i'll say congrats to them and HML in advance. But then,i need to correct something.Even though am not ruling out the fact that she is a virgin or not(who knows?) but i'll disagree with the guy who said..."confirm,the guy is marrying a virgin"...how did you know?...You see, in Nigeria we seems to believe its only people that appear to be religious or from a strong religious background that are morally sound, this is wrong. I know a lot of pastor's/imam's children that are very wayward. I've dated a pastor's child from one of this penticostal churches,my God...she is so holy at home, quote and preach the bible to people(she dare not preach to me) but she is so wild on bed,she can make any guy go mad with BJ.Also my neighbour in school has a girlfriend who is an Hijab sister, she do come to my friends house with pants and bra covering with Hijab at times and they swing to action immediately until my neighbour run for his dear life and come to my room to rest....she normally pass the night there but u'll never know cos she keeps it clean(coming late night after reading in class and leaving very early)...a lot like that. So, the point is...never assume until u're sure,my cousin married a lady(26yrs) he met on Facebook...and she was a virgin, you'll never believe it cos she is so playful and sociable....so heaven does not only wait for those who congregate,God is down below and up above,He knows who cares and doesn't care. |
well...if i'll advice, just surprise him. We guys like surprises ...tell him you are pregnant.....lol |
HAH: Apart from Innoson is there any local assemblers of Buses\carsi love the word assembler....it baffles me when we talk as if there are real automobile manufacturing company here in Nigeria. but then...its good to start from somewhere...hoping we'll get there. |
ladies, what do u like on a day like this?....surprises uhn?.....am gonna suprise my girl yeah! believe me. Am gonna introduce my new girl friend to her.....lol surprise! surprise!! hit like if u like that surprise. |
Am already seeing a Nigeria vs Ghana final.... |
where did you get that from? |
