kayusbrown:Abeokuta PCMs |
etibaba:This is so wrong If you register Early, all the states will be available for you to select from irrespective of States visited until any of the states are filled up. States visited will not in any way make any state unavailable unless the state is filled up. |
Mightyify:She is right by telling you not to go to anyhow cyber cafe that are inexperienced. YES, there are accredited registration centres which was even uploaded on NYSC site the first year they started their online registration. These were the cafes handling JAMB registrations. YES, you can register on your own if you have all you stated but do you know how to configure the biometric scanner? If you do, is everyone tech savvy like you? This is why they should patronise experienced cafes for the registration. The importance of patronising an experienced cafe is to avoid errors or data mismatch. |

Look at the expressions on their faces. The one who truly owns the tire and is about to lose ownership is already feeling sad while the one that want to snatch the tire away is smiling. B truly owns the tire. |
Dyt:Just one thing, you're lazy. How can just one person give all these excuses? If you could give all these excuses as a reason for not trying, then you do not merit any form of emplyment. I will never employ someone like you. The OP made reasonable points and intelligent people would reason above the hawking of pure water and gala thing as its only a way of making people know how small they can start. Apart from the points stated by the OP, the biggest of all reasons why young graduates all over the world find it difficult to start their own business is fear. The quest for immediate job security, financial security, fear of the business succeeding or failing and the mentality that only salary jobs can guarantee financial stability. We must also know that business is not about buying and selling alone. Rendering of services, manufacturing, consultancy e.t.c are all businesses who also started small before they became multinational corporations. Even those big companies you're all dreaming of are doing businesses just on a large scale, its all about exchange of goods/services for profit or reward. I agree we can't all be business owners, else who will work for businesses that are growing? But if are unemployed, and you can overcome that fear... I encourage anyone to start a business no matter how small. No one can tell how big that business will become in years to come. Let me share some info about myself. After NYSC, I followed the normal job hunting path just for months cos i've known right from time that I will end up working for myself. I only scouted for job cos I felt it'll be easier to raise capital from the job. But then, I only applied to oil and gas and multinational corporations that are reputable and can pay very well. I knew I can make 100k min per month from my business idea should I choose to start, so its all about jobs that would pay more. Eleven months after NYSC, I could not get job in any of these companies( shell, NLNG, e.t.c) , so I started my own business. Did I tell you I got other small jobs? (which include graduate engineering trainee at Dangote Group...80k as pay per month) I turned them down cos I knew I deserve more. I started my biz in 2012 with just me and my brother as staff and with one office, today we have 3 offices, 6 direct staff on payroll and 4 part time staff (freelance ICT tutors). we are still growing. Never despise the days of humble beginning. Did I tell you I'm a graduate of mechanical engineering and i graduated with distinction?... now I found myself in IT. Thanks for reading. |
This is so funny... the last picture really cracked me up. lol |
''Farewell to a king and a weak soldier Recalled again To darkness and silence and slumber In blood and pain, tears and agony My country is Kiltartan Cross, My countrymen Kiltartan's poor, No likely end could bring them loss Or leave them happier than before. I can't believe the news today Oh, I can't close my eyes and make it go away ... And for a single moment, my voice is everything The time has come, to find the Cost of Freedom For What It's Worth, the new king sees fair as fair Oppressors are dead, the poor shall wear the crown Reign of Justice, Unity and Joy. Two roads diverged in a wood We took the one less travelled by A lot of difference has been made One day you finally knew what you want to do and began' |

iCool:Just visited that site now, there are a lot of courses. Can you please recommend the courses you think I should enroll for, mostly those that are practical oriented. I am considering: Crane Operations - Mobile, Offshore, Overhead, Tower and IADC HSE Rig Pass What do you think? Also, the training fee is not specified on their website. (Sent them an e-mail already) Thanks |

iCool:I'm very grateful bro, really appreciate your advice. The major problem i have is failure to secure an entry level position immediately after NYSC, i ventured into personal business (IT related) and its 4 years after NYSC now without any engineering experience. Not that i'm not doing well with my biz but i'm still passionate about working with my mech. engr certificate. Most of the entry level positions that are advertised these days screen me out agewise. My biz has reached a stage i can hand it over to someone to manage for me but i'm really finding it hard to secure an engineering job. Still, i appreciate your contribution...really finding it hard to secure an opportunity in manufacturing industries(not necessarily O & G) without any related experience. outside drilling course, i also came accross a school in India(Technocrat Automation). They train on industrial/process automation : http://www.technocratautomation.net/ The main reason i'm considering professional training is due to the fact that i lack the needed experience and i think the training will give me an edge. The question is, is it really worth it? I will welcome other people's advice. |
iCool:What advice will you give inmy onw case? I’m an HND graduate of mechanical engineering and I wish to take up drilling as a career. I am no more a fresh graduate as I graduated in 2009 and I’ve been running my private business since then after all attempt to secure paid employment failed. Also, securing a trainee drilling engineer position is a bit difficult now because of my age; most trainee positions require younger applicants. After extensive research, I realized it’s a bit easier to break into the industry with some trainings/certifications. I need necessary advice and guidance as to how to go about it, the necessary training/certification to enroll in and where these trainings are administered here in Nigeria. I’ve researched two training institutions; PTI MUD School: http://www.ptimudschool.com/ and IDPE ASSISTANT DRILLER TRAINING PROGRAMME: http://www.idpe.org/public-learning/12-assistant-driller-training-programme.html I’ll need close to #600,000 to enroll for either of these courses so I want to be sure it’s a step in the right direction before I will cough out such amount from my business. Is it really worth it? Will any of these certificates really boost my chances of getting a job in any drilling coy in the shortest possible time? Can you experts help me with any tips or advice which will help me get my career on track again? |
