Politics / Police And Okada Riders Clash In Ogba, Lagos by DefHQ: 11:42am On May 07, 2021
Serious gun battle at ogba right now..

There is unrest in Ogba, Lagos over the alleged shooting of a commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as Okada, by a police officer.

A source told PUNCH Metro that the unrest started yesterday when a police officer refused to pay for the service rendered to him by an Okada rider.

The anonymous source also told PUNCH Metro that two people were allegedly killed last night.

“It’s a bike man vs policemen fight. An Okada rider rendered a service to a policeman yesterday, then asked for money after dropping him off. He was shot by the policeman who refused to pay him.

“There was a sporadic shooting this morning, some minutes ago. All the Okada riders are off their bikes getting ready for a riot,” the source said.

As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, was yet to respond to calls and messages from PUNCH Metro.

Politics / Only prayers will end insecurity – Kebbi Governor by DefHQ: 3:34pm On May 03, 2021
Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu has advised Nigerians to seek divine intervention for the country against its security challenges.

This was disclosed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abubakar Dakingari in a statement on Monday.

Dakingari spoke on behalf of the Governor, when Bugudu hosted top government functionaries, members of the judiciary, legislature and executive to a Ramadan Iftar (Ramadan Breakfast) at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

The governor said it is important for humans to seek repentance in order to ease their life and hereafter.

He appealed to the citizens to believe in the Buhari-led administration to make the country a better place for all.

“I want to emphasise the need for collective and individual supplication towards eliminating problems that engulfed our dear nation.

“I also want to affirm the commitment of incumbent administration to uplift the condition of living of both urban and rural dwellers and I pray God Almighty to shower His blessings on us all,” he said.

Politics / How Over 22 FG-Backed Boko-haram Fighters Were Killed By Chadian Troops by DefHQ: 10:32am On May 01, 2021
How Boko Haram Fighters From Nigeria Were Killed, Captured By Chadian Troops.

scores of the terrorists were killed, but only about 22 of them were captured in a video sent.

“Boko Haram terrorists crossed from Nigeria border into Chad yesterday evening for an attack, but the Chadian troops killed scores of them. The visible bodies are 22, but tons of bodies were laid in the outskirts of the village," the source said.

Just one week after Deby died from gunshot injuries from rebel forces, the Boko Haram insurgents have invaded at least five towns in Borno and Yobe states, attempting to capture more military bases and establish a caliphate.

The invasions have led to the massive destruction of highly-priced and sophisticated military equipment, as well as the killing of more than 50 soldiers and civilians.

On April 20, Deby died, according to an army spokesman, from injuries sustained on the frontlines.

The Boko Haram insurgents might now have a larger stronghold to launch more violent attacks on military troops and bases, according to a report by the SB Morgen Intelligence.

On April 23, three days after Deby’s death, Boko Haram attacked the headquarters of Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Geidam is the hometown of the acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali.

Two days later, Boko Haram invaded Mainok town in Borno State, killing at least 30 soldiers after invading a Nigerian Army base.

Mainok is the headquarters of the Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State. On Monday, the Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents attacked Gwoza and Wulgo towns ‪in Borno State.

How Nigerian Air Force Killed Over 20 Army Officers including three chibok girls In Strike Targeting Boko Haram..

Isa pantami fingered?

AAir Force fighter jet on a mission against Boko Haram extremists bombed men of the Nigerian Army on Sunday, killing over 20 officers, a military source has said.

The soldiers who were reinforced from Ngandu village were said to be on their way to Mainok, headquarters of the Kaga Local Government Area of Borno state which was under attack by militants from the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād.

SaharaReporters had on Sunday reported how the gunmen attacked a Nigerian Army location at 156 Battalion in the community, killing over 30 soldiers.

The terrorists who came in no fewer than 15 gun trucks also burnt down the military base.

A source told SaharaReporters that a reinforcement team of the Nigerian Army sent to the community was bombed by an Air Force fighter jet.

“The Boko Haram terrorists disguised in military uniform and gained access to the camp. They came in different groups and could not be counted. The Nigerian Army were pinned down, they requested for reinforcement, the reinforcement got on their way only to get smoked by the Nigerian Airforce.

Villagers in the past have reported some civilian casualties in near-daily bombardments in North Eastern Nigeria.

Recently, a military jet that came to repel an attack by Boko Haram dropped a bomb that landed in a compound where civilians were holding a naming ceremony.

Some of the Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014 and freed last year also said three of their classmates were killed by Air Force bombardments.
