GBAM !!
LordAdam16:
First off, I think this thread is a click bait. But I may be wrong.

Even then, all of you blaming GEJ for voting PMB are being insincere.

Everyone acknowledges that GEJ tried, but could have done better. The reason why he wasn't able to do better is the system that lets corruption thrive.

But in 2015, Nigeria wanted a miracle worker. And PMB was whitewashed as a miracle worker. Nigerians have always fantasized about a strong man that would solve all our problems with a flip of a switch. That's why we always jubilated when a new coup happened in the past. Unfortunately, in spite of the serial failures, we never learn.

Now that Buhari has been demystified, you guys are asking why GEJ was not the miracle worker you guys wanted. Well, here's the newsflash. There is no miracle worker in Nigeria politics. You get the good and the bad in one package. In 2019, you'd also have to vote a corrupt individual who would get elected using corrupt money and who would protect his corrupt friends. Anything else is wishful thinking.

GEJ enacted electoral reforms, revitalized the rail, made us believe in agriculture and the possibility of food sufficiency, invested in education, increased minimum wage, designed and implemented processes to limit corruption (BVN, IPPIS, Fertilizer grants, et cetera in case you have amnesia), kept inflation rate suppressed in single-digits, just to mention a few.

You guys said that was not enough. You wanted a bigot and a core Islamist (aka, reformed democrat) who never accepted he lost elections, never improved himself in over 30 years outside of power, and who failed woefully in his first stint.

The joke is on all of you!

I leave you with GEJ's statement (attached) in 2015:

Virtually all the people you guys are pushing to replace Buhari in 2019 contested in 2015. Out of all of them, you guys chose Buhari to replace GEJ. So we've gone full circle. We're back to choosing a corrupt individual who would give us the same stable progress GEJ gave (like we've been doing since 1999), since your ill-fated experiment with your Messianic bigot didn't pan out.

For that, I say Good Morning ALL. Hopefully, you guys don't experiment with the lives of 200m Nigerians again.

PoliticsRe: The Lies APC Told Us About PDP 16years Rule by deji68:
Well, he has disputed it many times, ...he grew the ECA he met to about 9 billion ... accordng to worldank

Crude Account balance increased from negligible
levels at the end of 2010 to an estimated US$
8.6 billion in 2012.
This is still far less than the
US$ 22 billion that the country had accumulated
on the eve of the world financial turmoil in 2008.
Two primary factors prevented a more rapid increase
in the ECA balance during the time of
generally strong oil prices in 2011-2012. In 2011,
a major increase in fuel subsidy payments (4.6%
of GDP) limited the accumulation of the ECA.
In 2012, the Government succeeded in reducing
fuel subsidy obligations significantly, but a
decline in oil output and revenues tightened the
budgetary position of the country
http://documents.worldbank.org/curated/en/934931468291633000/pdf/776840WP0Niger0Box0342041B00PUBLIC0.pdf

Well, i have disputed all your claims with data... foreign reserve,. ECA, or even your oil revenue claim was wrong too because that is the gross earning .NNPC and oil companies share the 60/40 ...that means NNPC get from the 425 billion only 254 billon.NNPC keep some part of 254 bil as running cost and rest are shared among the federating units...

elampiro:
This is not true. The GEJ govt didn't deny inheriting the money, the excuse they gave was that the state governors requested to share the money which GEj granted.

Anyway, you may dispute this because the account was not being monitored, but you cannot dispute the other figures.

Your figures are wrong. GEJ was handed $47billion external reserve from Yaradua. Plus excess crude of $22 billion.

Yaradua inherited $45 billion plus 22 ECA from Obj. Yaradua grew the External reserve from $45 to $63, but used some part to solve global economic recession of 2008 and left $47 for Jona

Jona left $29 for Buhari as at May 2015.
elampiro:
OP, you have to be objective and talk with figures.

This administration has only earned around $60 billion so far, and has increased our external reserve by $11 billion from what it was in May 2015. Cleared salary arrears by bailing out states twice or thrice, paid contractors to mobilize them back to work after Iweala's 2015 budget only cater for 33 out of 210 Capital projects.

In comparison Jonathan earned $454 billion and destroyed our External reserves, incurred $7b additional external debts, couldn't bailout states salary arrears, etc.

PoliticsRe: The Rise And Fall Of Buhari; An Analysis From The London Economist Magazine. by deji68: 2:42pm On Jan 10, 2018
Buhari, 75, is being plagued with failures across every single sector in the economy, the like as has never been seen before. Less than a year into office, the economy plummeted into recession, an economy which had till then grown at an average rate of 7% in previous years (2011-2014). Th e nation’s currency lost 70% of its value, unemployment rose from 6.5 to 26%, commodity prices tripled across many quarters and the state-regulated premium motor spirit prices were hiked by 67% without practically anybody batting an eye.
