LordAdam16: Have you read the EGRP?
The same EGRP that took 20 months to put together. Or how is it going to be funded when implementation of the 2017 budget is less than 30%.
What areas does it want us to be self-sustainable in?
Oil--it's counting on Dangote's refinery, which may not come online until 2020. Rice--Rice revolution had already started in 2013. We already recorded more than 60% reduction in rice import by 2015. By the time the EGRP was unveiled, it was already a success as CBN complimented the past administration's efforts with the launch of the Anchor's Borrowers Plan.
What else does it have. 5% growth rate? We were at 7% growth rate in 2013.
Buhari and his administration is a disaster. A bunch of class 3 pupils would do better.
Talking like the EGRP is some magical blueprint.

even using the opec Chart ... 2010 =77$/b 2011=107$/b 2012=109/b 2013=105$/b 2014=96$/b 2015=50$/b oil never sold for 120$ throughout GEJ tenure..... 9jakohai: From your source..
Whereas from mine...
You used local American prices...I used the international price...as determined in New York, and London.
Here is OPEC'S chart....shows oil above 100 USD from 2011-13. |

Well, the price of oil was never 100-140/barrel throughout GEJ tenure ..... 1998 $11.91 $17.26 1999 $16.56 $23.42 2000 $27.39 $37.54 2001 $23.00 $30.68 2002 $22.81 $29.92 2003 $27.69 $35.55 2004 $37.66 $47.04 2005 $50.04 $60.44 2006 $58.30 $68.27 2007 $64.20 $72.98 2008 $91.48 $100.00 2009 $53.48 $58.75 2010 $71.21 $77.10 2011 $87.04 $91.37 2012 $86.46 $88.93 2013 $91.17 $92.40 2014 $85.60 $85.34 9jakohai: There is a simple explanation, and no i am not defending the govt.
1.During GEJ'S govt, the oil price was $94-120. That meant we had enough dollars to buffer the naira...and as a result the value of the naira was stronger..meaning we needed fewer naira to import rice.
2.Now, during Old Man Bubu's govt, the price of oil has fallen to $28-65. This means we have less dollars to buffer the naira, and the value falls.Meaning we need more naira to import the rice.
3.If oil jumps up to $100 again, rice prices will fall...see1 .
4.What does this mean?
a)INCREASE DOMESTIC RICE PRODUCTION...via mechanised farming and irrigation
b)Get other sources of dollars...ie industrialization., industrialization.

The guy is a true democrat, ...i still blame him for that, frankyychiji: Yes you are right about the kid gloves. Jonathan pandered so much to the sentiments of northerners e.g Buhari who declared that an attack on BH was anti north. Jonathan wasn't man enough to arrest the silly old enemy of state and make him explain what he actually meant by that!
He pandered so Mindlessly to there stupidity when he declared a quasi state of emergency in the affected states and still allowed the governors to remain in office while empowering them with huge allocations. |

well, like i said apart fro NE Nigeria was relatively safe at least used to travel from lagos to ibadan , no single checkpoint...and was safe wirinet: Relatively safe? Maybe you were living in nigeria in an alternate universe.
The south south, the south south, the north west, apart from the north east and even Abuja was highly unsage diring GEJ era. I am not saying that things have improved much apart from north east and Abuja, but to say nigeria was relatively safe during Jonathans reign is a white lie. |

Well, under GEJ we had growth, single digit inflation, in agric he did well, fought corruption, IPPS, TSA , BVN, ,health they didnt badly, p0li0 eradication, telecom, extended internet coverage, infrastructural renewal , many roads were rehabiltated, many , airport refurbished, raiway brought back to life, cashless policy,...the list is long, blame yourself for your poor choice like many others are doing right now doctokwus: If GEJ had done well, would I have thought of Buhari? Even if GEJ had done averagely well,by arithmetic he won't have lost. Let me tell you why:GEJ's performance was so abysmal that the electorate in a core support base of his,the SouthEasterners,in the SouthEast, became indifferent at best to his re-election.In 2011,Jonathan was scoring averagely 700,000 -1million votes, per each SE state, with some rigging admittedly. That gave him about 3.5-4million vote margin from the 5 SE states. Fast forward 2015,average vote for same man was 300,000/state,giving him margin of 1.5million. GEJ lost the 2015 elections, despite the tsunamis in Kano,Kaduna,Katsina,Bauchi etc,by a mere 3million votes. That 3million would have been wiped out if the SouthEasterners that also felt disenchanted with his rule, but could not imagine themselves supporting the disaster now ruling us,had come out to vote(4million 2011-1.5million 2015=almost 3million)for him as they did in 2011. |
