Let me use myself as an example, I really cannot bring myself to taking my spouse to court or arresting her for instance even if I want to divorce her. I can easily divorce her and move on, why pressing charges again? I really don't see what she stands to gain by pressing charges against the man after initiating divorce aside cutting her own pound of flesh, which rather looks childish.

Well, he beat her up and maybe was threatening her to do some more damage. She decided to report the case to the police to seek restraining order. He prolly went against it and she had to report him again. The police arrested him for not adhering to the order. He was late released on bail. But by then, the govt has taken up the case. Besides, not everyone is like you. Even in your family, not every sibling would be like you. So she decided to report her abuse is not a crime likewise your decision to let your abusive wife go Scot free even after attempting to harm you is not a crime too. People handle things differently. She should not be victimised because she decided to pursue her case. My opinion though.

My point is no one has a right o insist she doesn't things the way they want her to do. You can advise her but not insist she does things as you believe she should. In as much as she is doing it legally and not abusing him innocently because she has the means to do so.

The woman's interest was never considered. What kind of world would a rape victim have to beg her rapist to marry her because it is her the victim that has to face the shame? And her family too. But Oaroloye did not support rape in his statement. I could not find where he said rape was okay. Rather, hr said women should be concerned that some religious people think rape is the woman's fault. Unless I am missing something. The Bible has no strict punishment for rapist unless they raped someone elses wife or betrothed. That is when they are considered bad. If a man rapes a girl who isn't given to be married in the Bible, he is made to marry her that is to say, the woman is made to marry and live with her rapist the rest of her life. I do not take thosr passages in the Bible as anything. To me, it is peoples customs. The Jews had theirs like we had ours.
