Its not fair, I have witnessed a situation whereby the woman always threatened to stab the husband and the man several times had to run away from her. But one day he had to face her cos he was given opportunity to run, of course fight ensues ,I heard the sound of the woman crying judged the man as mad, but when I heard the full gist wthe man and confirmed by the mother in law(the wife's mum) I was speechless the wan was quick to blackmail the man in our area with her tears

Many of this happens, many men dies in silence some for the fear of been seen as weak in the society, my neighbour was reporting to the family instead and they kept.on settling it 'amicably'

I know many men are abused and I encourage them to speak out just as women do and I strongly believe that the woḿen involved should be punished accordingly. I know of a family where the man and woman are both stubborn. The man tries to use his fist and his woman carries a knife because she does not stand a chance with her fist only. The man runs out of the house and they both exchange words through the window. he said he will reach her not to carry knife again when they fight. One they they started to fight again. She carried a knife as ussual and asked him to hit her if he dare, he rushed at her and in that fight, she actually stabbed his leg. He no dey hear word, she too no dey hear word. He went to report to the police, she claimed self defense. True true if she no carry one, that man for beat her like pounded yam insid motar. They're​ still married, beating has stopped but they still argue and quarrel sha. Me, I don't know how they do it. But I believe they deserve each other.make Dem no carry that crase go marry innocent people. I don't know any man's family that will settle amicably a case where his wife wants to kill their son. Unless he does something that they believe if he stops doing, she would not react the way she does. If na my brother, I will suggest sepperation for a while at least.

That life woman in the past lived, would you wish it for your daughter's and all the females in your lineage? Should they cower and endure throughout their lives? Would you personally be happy to live that way? If no, why not fix it?

And those women found d guilty are dealt with accordingly too. When a wife assaults her husband, she is naturally judged harshly. No one makes excuses for her unlike when a man does same. Even if a man kills his wife for cheating,many men will understand with him, they will say he was pushed by the woman's action but if a woman hurts ( not kill o) her husband for cheating, she is judged harshly and condemned.people would want to believe the man was a saint until his wife pushed him to violence. A woman has a lot to risk if she missbhaves in a marriage than a man. So there is likely hood that a woman surffers some form of abuse(husband behaving badly to his wife)) in her marriage compared to a man(wife behaving bafly to her husband)
As fir me I dont care about your gender once you turn violent, you should be dealt with.

Some Nigerians esp Yoruba's don't know about south. All they know is that if you are not hausa, or Yoruba, you must be Igbo . How soon should she have waited? Don't you know the influence Nigerian society esp family, friends And religious bodies have in domestic abuse. The first time it happens they say maybe you did not park well, go and build your home. where do you want to go to? Do you think others out there are better? Think about what Christ would have done, think about the kids etc., they encourage you to forgive and forget. If you say NO, they say you were not even ready for the marriage, you are a bad husband/wife etc. You keep enduring until the last straw and then you are so angry you want to get justice for every time you were used or abused. Some can overlook and move on with their lives, while some want justice. Just as some overlook the cases where doctors kill their loved ones, burry them and move on. Whereas some want justice served and there want it served hot. I will not judge anyone for their approach to situation, it's them that were abused, As long as the pursue it legally.
