Politics › Dangote Has Given Us The Green Light Is Let's For Us by delkuf(op): 7:25pm On Sep 24, 2024*. Modified: 3:21am On Sep 25, 2024 |
After reading about the dangote interview. I think dangote has given a glue we just need to start asking questions. Dangote said three things. First, he said hie petrol is 15% cheaper. So the question we need to be asking is why are we still buying fuel at this price. Why is petrol expensive. Secondly, he said that the federal government should stop paying subsidy. We now have refinery in Nigeria. So subsidy should stop. There is no need taking crude oil abroad to refine. So is no need dealing with dollars anymore. Because we now have refinery in Nigeria. Refine in Nigeria and trade in Nigeria. But trust our evil govt. They would still be taking crude abroad. They would still want to trade in dollars. Because it pays them more. We need to start investigating this things. Thirdly, he said nnpcl has reduced there stake in dangote refinery from 20% to 6%. Why are we not asking why would nnpcl reduce there stake. What are the reasons for reducing the stake. This are the questions we need to be asking. Dangote has indirectly saw us what this wicked govt is doing but we would just keep quiet as usual. I just pray God help us |

CapitalCee: Yeah Dalot was a steal actually. We should be looking to making these kinds of signings. Vidic was bought for 7m Euros. Evra 5 milkion Euros Ji Sung Park for 4.5m Euros Chicharito was 4m Euros from Guadalajara in Mexico, what a fantastic signing the reason why we are not buying players at this price any more is because we keep looking to buy players from major league in Europe. We want to buy players from England and other major European leagues. If you look at those players you mentioned, they were bought from smaller countries. Look at chicharito for example, he was bought from Mexico. So it didn't cost much |

DeLaRue: No, I don't expect people to keep quiet.
The expected increased official price has clearly come as a shock to people. And the current prices above N1000 in some areas is terrible.
When we as humans face a new reality, complaints and frustration at the government of the day are perfectly normal reactions.
I am simply saying, selling petrol at between N560 - N600 is no longer realistic, unless we want to bankrupt this country for future generations.
Our domestic borrowing already exceeds One Hundred trillion naira. That is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria, and we don't even know how we will pay it back.
Our foreign debt is now around $100 billion. That too is unprecedented.
Truth is, Nigeria as a country is in financial trouble after over 50 years of reckless government spending.
We simply cannot afford to pay subsidy any more. so you won't be surprise if Nigerian start giving into riot and protest |
Politics › Re: Nigerians Are Silent With Petrol At 897 by delkuf(op): 5:03am On Sep 05, 2024 |
onatisi: please bros , what do you want the ordinary Nigerians to do? do you think any group of people just starts rallies, riots, and protests? That is why governments worldwide usually go after key individuals that organise the protest. the last end bad governance protest saw all political leaders and even sowore those who initiated it staying back from the protest and leaving the people without a leader. political riots and revolutions usually have a key figure in front that people will be following and when that is not there there is nothing people can do because there is no one to follow or listen to. w WE DON'T HAVE POLITICAL LEADERS YET WHAT WE HAVE NOW ARE POLITICAL OPPORTUNITIES AND THE PEOPLE HAVE REALIZED THIS SO THEY TOO ARE JUST LOOKING. after following and believing someone, you will just see the same people shaking hands and smiling with the same set of government leadership the people are protesting against, Nigerians have seen this over and over again so now they no longer believe anyone so we would let this rub in again. My brother this people taking us for granted. Are we not particing democracy again. We shouldn't keep quiet. This is becoming too much |

Does this price affect the govt or citizens. You want us continue to suffer from the hand of this evil man called tinubu. |

DeLaRue: What should we do.
Dangote refinery can't sell to us below what it costs it to produce the petrol.
NNPC claims they are owing over $6 billion due in part to subsidy payments. Yet you want them to continue to pay subsidy so petrol price can be low.
If the country can no longer afford to pay subsidy, we need to face the reality that with the exception of the Arab nations, petrol is an expensive product in almost every country in the world.
In Niger Republic, Ghana and many other neighbouring countries, petrol sells for around N1300.
It is unrealistic to think petrol cam continue to sell for N600 here.
If we have to pay between N850 - N900 to Mr Dangote's petrol, we just have to manage it. you mentioned Niger, Ghana with Nigeria. This countries don't have petrol. So it is unrealistic for Nigeria to sell petrol at 600. God help us |
