deyemia:
The Person I Intend To Marry Just Told Me This!!!

Dear Nairalanders,

I've come again to hear your views about this issue.... especially married "Egbons"

So it all started like this, My new fiancee and I just finished a sunday service and I was about going to drop her at home when one of her single friends asked if she could join us which we agreed.

On our way they started talking all wife stuffs sharing their views on a marriage and shii, then one thing led to a financial topic where my fiancee started saying she can never support a husband financially, that a man should be a man and take all responsibilities of every penny to be spent, that the reason she's working is to be able to afford all the things she wants that all the responsibilities of the household is for the husband shocked. I acted cool at first.

Her friend was even saying that she doesnt like to be a liability that at least it should not be the man's responsibility 100% that the wife should be able to support financially, My fiancee outrightly disagreed with her saying support doesnt have to be financial from the wife, that it could be through prayers.

I couldnt keep mute anymore I had to ask her "what does it mean when people say supportive wife? " she replied she doesn't know, that she's sure it doesnt have to be financial.

At some point when the friend had already alighted, I asked what if the man is building a house and needs immediate support for just window frames, she said never!

She even said if she has money in the bank and their is no food at home, we will all drink Garri.

Now here are the facts,
-We got introduced through match making,
-there are some good things about her that is worth consideration.
-I dont think she has dated before because she obviously has no experience whats so ever when it comes to relationship behaviours. she's "efikko" kind of.
-This her ideology seems deep rooted in her upbringing and family., her mum is rich.

My Challenge is,
Should I stick around and try to change that ideology or just move on because I am sure it's a destructive ideology.

Bro, this is very simple If she doesn't want to be a supportive wife, It means she doesn't need to work or do any business. Perhaps she wants to be a full time house wife, then you will not need to hire a nanny, gateman or even take your suits to the laundries. She should be responsible for all of that, at least those are not financial assistance. Whenever she needs money for her hair do, make sure you delay it for at least two weeks, since it's the duty of the man to provide all financial needs it should always be the duty of a man to take all decision, don't consult her for anything, let's see how far she can go.

Romance / Re: Please Help, My 4 Years Relationship Seems To Be Crashing Down by delonz(m): 11:22pm On Mar 03, 2016
Lawz20:
Good day my fellow Nairalanders, I have a very serious problem which I so much believe that with your kind and generous advice, I might take the right step. I met this girl around April 2012 at my work place and since then we have been together after I proposed to her last year. The fact is I love her so much and I thought she also loves me.

I went down with her to her village around April 2014 to see her parents formally and they were so happy, her mum, dad, grand parents and even her siblings welcomed me wholeheartedly and I was so happy. I stayed with them for two weeks just to see if I can picture out any bad behavior but seriously, non was found.

The problem am having with her is that she has too much male friends and most of them are always sending her love messages both on 2go and Facebook. I once stumble on her Facebook inbox and I found a chat between her and another guy and he was just thanking her for coming to spend good time with him, bla bla bla and how he enjoyed her. I was so mad because during this period she went to the village alone and promised to return in a week but she didn't until after 3 weeks, this is what she always do, she travels like 4-5 times in a year and never return on time. When she returned, I confronted her and she said she is not the one that did that chat with the guy, I tried asking her who did but she never gave me a good answer.

Later that week, she gave me her phone to help her charge it in a barbing saloon, then a strange number called and I picked, the person hissed and cut the call, he later sent a message saying, "you're picking my wife's call and asking me who it is" I replied him that he should check the number that he might be wrong, he then mentioned her name. I went back home to ask my fiancee who own that number then she said its that guy I saw his chat and I should not worry, she will fix it.

Recently again, she has travelled and up till this moment, she is not back, she promised she won't stay upto 2 weeks but yesterday makes it 5 weeks. That same yesterday, my mum's pastor asked my mum to call me that he has a message for me which I later went, he greeted me and say, while he was praying for me because of my mums request, that he was shown that the lady I am planning of marrying is not mine alone, that if I go ahead to marry her, she will wreck me and leave me, he said she travelled now and I said yes, he said she was seeing someone else in the village, he said if I doubt him, I should go ahead.

It was then my mum now said, my younger sister told her of a dream she had, that I caught my fiancee with another guy and it leads to a fight which the said guy killed me. I myself have had such dreams too. The pastor gave me 3 days fasting and prayer. I am confused, despite all her cunning ways I still love her but what should I do and how do I go about leaving her. I will be 30 by 5th April, am not getting any younger. Please advice.
Run as fast as your legs can carry you. Only love is not enough for marriage. We have heard of men been killed by their wives lately, don't be the stubborn fly that will go down the grave with the corps.

Culture / Olu Of Warri Pays Historic Visit To Ijaw Monarch. by delonz(m): 11:40am On Feb 17, 2016
UGHELLI—THE Olu of Warri, HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli, yesterday, visited the Akugbene Mein Kingdom in Bomadi Local Government Area, Pere S. P. Luke Kalanama VIII and the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, HRM Wilson Ojakovo, in Ughelli North Local Government Area, both of Delta State, in furtherance of his resolve to foster peaceful coexistence between the Itsekiri nation and neighbouring communities. The visit to the Ijaw monarch is the first since the Ijaw and Itsekiri conflict which claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent citizens with property worth millions of naira destroyed on both sides. Appealing for peace among all ethnic groups in the state, the Olu urged monarchs to continue to sustain the current peace in the state with a charge on youths to be patient and tolerant of their neighbours. He said: “During my coronation, I promised to build bridges of love, peace and harmony between the Itsekiri nation and its neighbours. This is a display of such show of love. “My visit to Akugbene was an epoch event as no Itsekiri king had ever been there before. I am personally happy that I am making history. “We may have differences but we must understand our difference. Anything that concerns you should concern me. By the time our subjects see us display such brotherly love, they will emulate us.” Describing the visit as historic, the Pere of Akugbene Kingdom likened the Olu’s visit to the 1982 visit of the Oba of Benin to the kingdom. He said: “Some people did not believe you would come, considering our past, but today you are here.” The Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, in his address, said: “Ughelli has made history today because this is the first time the Olu of Warri is visiting us. I believe that this show of love will continue unabated in order to keep both kingdoms closer than ever.”

Unlike Ameachi, tinubu etc. Fayose's case has a lot of evidence to charge him to court such as an audio tape, witnesses e.g. the captain, Mr Aluko and also confessions from omisore, obanikoro stating that a meeting occurred.

Fayose makes noise to divert gullible Nigerians from his case knowing fully well that Nigerians are forgetful people.

May God have mercy on us all and lead/ direct us to the right path and from this selfish so called leaders.
are you say these people you just mension their names don't have the right to strategize for an election? A meeting occurred and so? What evidence are you talking about? Ballot box snatching or fake result sheets? Politics/ election is all about strategies. There was no issue of murder, there was no issue of ballot snatching and their was no issue of fake result sheet. The audio records you are refering to, never talked about murdring anyone, snatching ballot boxes, producing fake result sheets, no under age voting was also talked about, I think these are the most serious election offense. Mr, Aluko just got himself into some mess, he will soon regret it, because very soon he will see that those supporting him now will disappear.

Politics / Re: Sagay, Ogunye Fault S’court Judgments On Gov Polls by delonz(m): 9:54am On Feb 05, 2016
Descartes:
Eminent lawyer, Prof. Itse Sagay, and a Lagos-based legal practitioner, Mr. Jiti Ogunye, on Thursday, queried the recent judgments of the Supreme Court, which dismissed all the cases challenging the polls of some governors, including those that had earlier been overturned by two lower courts.

A seven-man bench led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, on Wednesday, affirmed the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission with respect to the Abia and Akwa Ibom states’ governorship polls.

In separate telephone interviews with our correspondent, Sagay and Ogunye said the Supreme Court judgments were not justifiable.

The Court of Appeal in the case of the Abia poll and the election petitions tribunal with respect to the Akwa Ibom election had taken a position different from that of the apex court.

Earlier, the apex court had affirmed the governorship election in River State, despite contrary findings by the appeal court.

The apex court had also affirmed the governorship polls in Ebonyi, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Delta and some others.

The Supreme Court is to give full reasons for its decisions on most of the governorship elections later this month.

The apex court’s decision has not been delivered in the appeal with respect to Taraba State election.

Drawing an analogy between the Supreme Court’s decisions and the attitude of an ancient king called Draco in punishing all offences with death, Sagay said on Thursday that the apex court’s streak of judgments was strange.

He said, “It is not something I can just pounce on. But all the judgments have been the same. It’s very interesting. There used to be an ancient monarch, who punished every crime by death. He was called Draco. That is why when somebody does anything extreme he is called Draconian.

“If anybody steals one kobo, you kill him, if he kills someone you kill him, at the end, there is no distinction between offences.

“There should be distinctions. How can all the governorship cases go the same way? How is that possible? That is the question we are all awaiting when they will give the reasons for their judgments.

“I don’t know how to put it, but it’s very strange. We will wait for them to give their reasons and see how that magic occurred that every governorship election was valid and in line with the Electoral Act. It is very unprecedented. We will see when they give their full judgments, that is it for now.”

On his part, Ogunye said he was met with ‘shock and disbelief’ following the apex court’s decisions.

He expressed fear that the Supreme Court’s judgment might ‘unwittingly become an anti-technology, anti-innovation and anti-science precedent’ which he said was “sad for our democracy’.

He said with the trend of the apex court’s judgment it would have been impossible for the likes of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo, Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun and former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, to assume governorship positions.

Those mentioned by Ogunye had become governors by an order of the Court of Appeal at the time when the Supreme Court had yet to have jurisdiction over governorship election appeal cases.

He also said, “Nigerians and the international community were living witnesses to the conduct of the polls in the states where these election petitions emanated and the conclusions were that the elections were terribly mismanaged and marred by violence and malpractices.”

I remember, that immediately after the general elections, the judiciary promised not to upturn any election victory through the courts. In this regards, I think the judiciary is trying to promote peace. I support the Judidciary on this. If these people are having doubts about the governorship elections across the Country, then they should also question the presidential election. I think we should allow peace to reign. God bless Nigeria.

Crime / Chieftaincy Title Obligations Led Me Into Bank Robbery - Ex-militant by delonz(m): 6:09am On Jan 24, 2016
Clement Millions was a respected titled chief before his recent arrest by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team. His venture into armed robbery landed him in the police net.

Millions, 42, after his arrest confessed to the police saying, he was installed as a chief in 2014 but that the demands of the title soon became overwhelming so he had to resort into armed robbery.

“In 2014, I was conferred with a chieftaincy title of Ebimewe, which means someone who is doing well, but the high financial demands of my new title made me to join a bank robbery gang to get enough money to maintain my new status in the society,” he said.

Clement Millions, from Ogbembri village in Delta State, revealed to the police that he joined the gang of robbers that came through the creek to carry out robbery operations in some banks in Lagos, but noted that before his foray into robbery, he lived in reasonable comfort.

He said, “I am one of the militants granted amnesty when we surrendered our guns. The Federal Government used to pay each of us N65,000 every month and I was also involved in black market oil sale. I was making a lot of money from it and I built a mansion. I actually helped people.”

The names of his other members he said were Kelly, Kakadu, Dike, Ossy and John Togo.

Millions in his account of how he acquired his 20 years experience in armed robbery and kidnapping, according to , said he and others were doing well in their oil business before Togo lured him into the robbery gang. He recalled that he had participated in about four bank robbery operations.

He said, “One day, Togo begged me to lend him N300,000 to go and buy something in Lagos. I did not know he was planning how to rob banks in Lagos. I could not say no to him for security reasons.

“I participated in the two bank robbery operations at Ikorodu and the ones at FESTAC, Agbara and Lekki. We got about N66m in Agbara and my share was N2.5m. In FESTAC, we got N23m and my share was N800,000. About 26 of us used 13 guns for the FESTAC operation and we went in two buses. In Ikorodu, during the first operation we got N12m but my own share was N500,000, while in the second operation, I got N800,000 out of the N62m we got.”

According to the suspect, he perceived danger when some of the gang members killed some policemen in the course of a robbery, saying he knew that police would come after them to avenge the death of their colleagues, but that he could not dump the group.

He said, “I even went to church to confess my sins and I vowed not to go back to robbery but other gang members came up with reasons for us to continue and I also needed more money as a high chief. Despite my 20 years as an armed robber, I was not involved in bank operation until last year.”

“After the operation at Ikorodu, I came back and followed them to rob a bank at FESTAC because of my ‘long throat’. I returned to Ikorodu to participate in another operation because my 500 jerry cans caught fire. We sometimes used military and police uniform to beat security. I had one Toyota Highlander sport utility vehicle which I sold for N800,000 and then I bought three saw machines. Then, I relocated to Benin to be able to monitor my sawmill workers.”

Millions, who is married with six children, explained that his wife and children were not aware that he was an armed robber. “I vowed to God as my New Year resolution to stop robbing people but unfortunately I was arrested,” he said.

Meanwhile, a police source hinted that the IGP, Solomon Arase, had promised to track other members of the gang, and that the Response Team had arrested seven persons who specialised in supplying arms and eight other members of the gang.

Romance / 17 Desperate Things Girls Do To Get Married. by delonz(m): 6:48pm On Jan 23, 2016
Girls of nowadays go extra miles in search for a husband. We have compiled some of the things our lovely, single ladies do to have a husband by fire by force.

1. Snatching a Friend or Relation’s Man.

All is fair in love and war! Rumour has it that women have resorted to locking their phones, hiding their men and coding their gist from so-called friends cos it’s a jungle out there.

2. Re-Inventing Themselves.

Pretence is the order of the day. No man wants to tame the shrew or teach the inexperienced or make an honest woman out of a dishonest one so once marriage is desired, women package themselves in pseudo, ready-made, easy-to-use, highly desirable packages. After marriage, what you see is what you get!

4. Praying & Fasting.

This would presumably be an honourable means of obtaining a husband but sometimes the prayers are offered up to deities other than God & other times it becomes a song permanently on repeat.

5. Taking his photograph to places for a prophetess to pray over or a powerful Alfa. Heard it works like a charm.

6. Taking his sp*rm, hair or personal effects to herbalist. Guys, disposing off your c0nd0ms yourself is not such a bad idea.

7. Putting love portion in his food! This is classic and timeless but shouldn’t it be called a ‘compelling’ portion? Because in this case, love is by force!

8. Saying Yes to a Man you Despise!

A woman has two classes of men usually on her case. The ‘correct’ guys and the ‘disgos’. The disgos usually end up as rebounds but many a woman has shocked a despondent toaster with a sudden ‘Yes’ and men have agreed that truly there is nothing God cannot do!

9. Proposing to a guy! Yes it does happen…but I dare to ask, who wears the engagement ring?

10. Toasting a man’s family so they make the decision for him! A friend complained that a girl he detested had over the months gotten close to his family. Lavishing money on them, cooking for them and basically being their ‘go-to’ girl and now his mum had put her foot down that he had to break up with his girlfriend and marry little-miss-went-home-to-mama. Depending on how much power the family use, their word may be final.

11. Being your Man’s Maga!

Some women believe that when you finally get a man to be interested in you, spoiling him and overlooking his every fault would get you into a white gown faster than an okada chased by LASTMA! Some men don’t mind a woman who houses them, clothes them, feeds them, gives them pocket money, never gets upset with them even when they misbehave and cleans up after them with little or no contribution from them…Living the good life.

12. Giving him Unlimited Freedom as Long as he Proposes.

“Tell me I’m number one baby, tell me I’m the future mother of your kids and not Amina, Bisi or Ngozi!” Women used to wanna be the ONE AND ONLY in their man’s life, now being the number one is good enough.

13. Revamping Yourself

Change your ward-robe, lose 20kg, buy a truckload of brazilian hair, study the karma-sutra, do a vaginoplasty and change the age on your birth-certificate to read 22. Botox, plastic surgery, a compulsory gym membership and ‘body magic’ also indicated!

14. Becoming a Worker in Church!

Rumour has it that men go to church to marry, the same rumour also reveals that ‘Greeters’, ‘Ushers’ and ‘Lead Soloists’ have the best exposure…praise the Lord!

15. Moving to a New Town or Part of Town so that you are the ‘New Girl’.

This always peaks the men’s interest and at the same time you get to run away from your past and the ‘old maid’ labels! Combine this with number 14 above and ooh la la!

16. Abandoning your Hopes, Dreams and Ambitions!

I’ve heard people say that women looking for a prince charming live unrealistic dreams, virgins are old-school, overly educated women are proud, rich women are not submissive, ambitious women are conceited, women with demanding jobs won’t have time for their families, women who want a faithful man are deluded and women who don’t get pregnant before wedlock have something wrong with their plumbing! So forsake the masters, don’t even dream of a PhD, quit your job, give away all your money and surely a husband will come… And if all else fails…

17. Marry a Married Man!

He could be your friend’s husband, your sister’s husband, your cousin’s husband, your colleague’s husband, even your mother’s husband if you like!

Can you blame these women? The average guy has commitment phobia or is out to play till he is all spent before he settles down or is waiting to make his first ’5 million’ before saying ‘I do’. Even a man with no future ambition or class, much less finances still knows he could have his pick of the best women out there, once he announces he is looking to settle! The last census showed a female-dominated demographic with more women per eligible bachelor. Family and society constantly put the woman in hot water making her personal successes irrelevant till she bags a man.

Dasuki did not wear handcuffs because he has always behave himself. Metuh has history of being unruly, he was reported to have eaten the statement he earlier made to the EFCC, and also vowed not to return any money.
How much has Dasuki returned or promised to return? When the issue of Metuh eating his statement came up at the court what happened? And again the issue of eating statement came before he first appeared in court, why was he not handcuffed then? If their claim is anything to believe, did eat the said statement in the prison, why didn't, EFCC handcuffed him to court when they first produced him in court?

Not at all I was only trying to teach her how to behave.
Your behavior was childish, you were in a public place, are you the owner of the said bench? Did you seek for permission before you sat on the bench? Is the girl your wife or girl friend or even sister that you want to teach moral? What will it take from you if you had allowed her to seat, what lesson do you think you have thought her? People these days really want everybody they come across to behave they way they want them to behave. If that girl had insulted you what would you have done? My dear whenever you are in a public place pocket that your idea of trying to teach people morals.

Criminals during Obasanjo regime were handcuffed. E.g Tafa Balogun

Criminal during Jonathan were not handcuffed. E.g Kabiru Sokoto (Terrorist)

Criminal during Buhari were/are handcuffed. E.g Olisah Metuh

my conclusion : Jonathan is weak, clueless and incompetent.
OBJ and PMB have military background, GEJ is the only true Civilian president amongs them. Simply answer the question. Have you seen Dasuki wear handcuff since this APC comedy started? Of all the people arrested in connection with the said Dasukigate who else have wore handcuff? What they did yesterday just was too childish.
