Politics / Why Nigerians Appreciate My Government - Buhari by deluxegift(f): 8:17pm On Aug 24, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari has said Nigerians are appreciative of the implementation of policies and projects of the his government because they were aimed at improving the standard of living in the country.

Receiving the leadership of Kano Traders’ Association, led by Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Sani, Chairman of Kanti Kwari Traders Association, Friday in Daura, Buhari pledged that his administration will not relent in doing the needful to create jobs, expand trade and encourage greater productivity.

The President told members of the business community that under the Government Enterprises and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) and the CBN Anchor Borrowers Programme (ABP), more traders and farmers have expanded their trade and increased food production.

According to the President, some of the policies and projects were misconstrued by some critics at the beginning of this administration but with steady and rigorous implementation they have realized that these interventions are very beneficial for the development of the country.

The President promised to look into the concerns of the traders on the GEEP programme as well as the influx and dominance of foreigners in the retail sector.

Earlier in his remarks, Sani had commended the President for reviving the $2.8 billon Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline, which was abandoned by the previous administration due to corruption and mismanagement.

The market leader also applauded the Buhari administration for the ongoing works at river ports in Baro, Niger State, Lokoja, Kogi State and Oguta in Imo State which were abandoned for about a decade but will now be completed before May 2019.

‘‘It is also another gesture of Mr. President in fulfilling his promise to end fuel problem in Nigeria by signing the Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of a new 150,000 barrels per day refinery in Katsina State,’’ Sani said.

Politics / I Would Have Abandoned Nigerians To Suffer, If I Were Buhari, Itse Sagay by deluxegift(f): 10:31pm On Jul 11, 2018
Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay, has said if he was to be the current head of state, he would have abandoned the anti-corruption war and ‘ungrateful’ Nigerians to their fate

This is he revealed that despite lack of appreciation especially from the “corrupt Nigerian elites”, President Muhammadu Buhari administration has recovered assets worth of N1 trillion within Nigeria alone with about $800 million recovered from abroad.

Sagay disclosed this in Abuja on Wednesday during the 1st African Day of Anti-Corruption and Roundtable of the AU Champion Against Corruption with the theme: “Enhancing Domestic Resources for Sustainable Development Goals by Improved Asset Recovery and Asset Return”.

In his opening address titled: “Fight Against Corruption and Attainment of Sustainable Development Goals Under the Buhari Administration”, Sagay lamented that despite the enormous achievements, some Nigerians especially the elites are pushing a contrary narrative to frustrate their efforts for the simple fact they no longer have access to easy money unlike the past administrations.

Sounding disappointed, he wished that Buhari had thrown in the towel and allow Nigerians wallow the misery of not having an Anti-Corruption champion.

He said: “So a lot is going on and I said the elite, and I will always emphasize the elites, because the ordinary Nigerian is appreciative. The elites are pretending not to know what is going on, they’re pretending that they are not seeing change. They are pretending as if we are carrying on in the way, the wasteful and turbulent way this country used to be run, because they are beneficiaries of the bad system. Easy money is no longer coming to their pockets, they are now having to work for their living and therefore they are grieved and pretending that they don’t know that anything is happening.

“This government is a very patient government. I personally I am an impatient man. What if I were head of state I would have thrown in the towel and tell Nigerians ‘go and suffer the fate you deserve. Go and suffer the fate you were experiencing before 2015, so that they can go back to that system of bribery, corruption, rottenness which we have seen this country to a state of total destruction.”

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kogi West Elders’ Forum, KWEF, has said it will vehemently reject any attempt to impose Senator Dino Melaye as the sole senatorial candidate of the party in 2019.

Chairman of the Forum, Shaibu Momoh, who spoke on behalf of the elders forum said this after they met yesterday in Lokoja, the state capital, to deliberate on Melaye’s official planned defection to PDP.

Melaye posted an Instagram clip on Friday night, saying he had missed PDP and could not wait to be back “home”.

He said, “Melaye is seen as too controversial and his unacceptable behaviors are the serious negative views of the public against him. He cannot win any election in a free and fair atmosphere and PDP should therefore not gamble with him as a candidate for now

Crime / What Buhari Said During Meeting With CAN by deluxegift(f): 8:48pm On Jul 05, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari met today with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) from 19 Northern States and Abuja and solicited their assistance in bringing to an end the spate of killings in the Middle Belt and Zamfara.

Buhari recounted the efforts by the security agencies , the hundreds of arrests made against the slowness of the judiciary in convicting the suspects. He added that it is Satanic for anyone to suggest that he is indifferent about the carnage.

His Speech: I thank you very much for taking the time to pay this visit today and for the issues you have raised.

The recent killings in Benue, Zamfara and lately Plateau are wicked, condemnable and completely unacceptable acts.

When some, for clearly political purposes, attempt to suggest that this government is doing nothing about the killings, and that I, being Fulani, must be encouraging these satanic acts, it seems to me that there is no limit to the evil in the minds of men.

Health / 5 Weird Things That Happens To Your Body After You Die by deluxegift(f): 8:37pm On Jul 01, 2018
1. Your heart might refuse to die

some corpse often cling to life long after they've been declared dead. A UCLA Neurologist Alan Shewmm dug up 175 separate examples of dead bodies that survived for more than a week after the person had died. they have demonstrably dead brains yet their hearts or other organs seems to function. Rather than resting in peace, pieces of you may insist on living.

2. Your heart might restart

CNN reported that in 2004, a patient, seemingly breathed his last, sealed in a body bag and off to the morgue until he starts writhing in his body bag. Guess is that his heart somehow restarted via defibrillator he previously had inserted under his skin.

3. Your brain might know you're dead.

your demise might still show signs of afterlife. your brain may remain intact long enough to realized that you died. CBC Contributor, Mark Beaulieu said people can still recall resucitation. Temporarily, corpses could still remember the measures taken to rescue then. They couldn't cope with the shock of being shocked by defibrillators and witnessing the mad scramble to undo death. study showed that 2% of patients were fully aware of dying, 46% were partially aware.

4. Corpses that donate items appear to feel pain.

According to BBC, organs such as lungs, liver and heart cannot be removed if a patient's heart has stopped. simply put, only beating heart cadavers can be deceased donors. However, these technically brain dead bodies appear to feel pain when you slice them open. As anaesthetist Phillip Keep explained " you stick the knife in and the pulse and blood pressure shoot up. infact unless a dead donor is sedated, the patient may start moving and wriggling around.

5.You could turn into soap

According to Atlas Obscura, cadevar fat sometimes interact with anaerobic bacteria in a damp alkaline environment, during a process called saponification. The result is a soap like substance called adipocere. Accumulating adipocere envelopes the body and allows human remains to remain relatively intact in the form of a soap mummy.

Crime / Why Herdsmen Killed 86 People In Plateau, Miyetti Allah by deluxegift(f): 5:31pm On Jun 25, 2018
Danladi Ciroma, the Chairman, North Central zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has reacted to the recent attacks on Plateau villages by suspected herdsmen where over 86 persons were gruesomely killed.

Ciroma in a statement claimed that the attack was in retaliation of the killing of over 300 cows in the last few weeks by the villagers.

He said despite the efforts of the state government, some criminal elements hiding among their people were still frustrating the peace efforts.

“These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission.

“There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities but the communities are hiding them.

“Fulani herdsmen have lost about 300 cows in the last few weeks – 94 cows were rustled by armed Berom youths in Fan village, another 36 cows were killed by Berom youths. In addition to that, 174 cattle were rustled and the criminals disappeared with them to Mangu.

“Since these cows were not found, no one should expect peace in the areas. Even soldiers that went after the criminals to recover the rustled cows were shot by the armed rustlers and eventually escaped with all the cows.
