Before collapsing. No column/pillars anywhere. They just put the long-spanning lintels on 6-inch blocked walls

I personally use Colums to support structures be it Bungalow so far am not the one that molded the block to specification, and secondly if the structure is going to carry concrete at a height above 2.8m to 3.5m. Just to be on a safer side. Using 12mm Colums even at 150mm width gives you a better chance next time. Concrete will always be stronger than block any day any time...

Just my humble opinion.

Others can equally share a different view.

Thanks for staying with us here.
The long awaited project is now almost completed.

We were really hit hard by inflation from the budgeted allocation for this project.

From 2m budget to 2.9m spent on this project as we speak.

WC alone was budgeted for 16K, we now had to buy at 26K... That alone was over 100K...

This applies to almost every materials herein.

But we thank God so far for how far we were and are able to navigate this to still give the students the quality they deserve.

Some times is better to read and move on. Many people don't understand how this things work. Imagine talking of 20m, as hard as it is in Lagos 20m can buy land and build average 3 bedroom in average neighborhood mortgage free for life

Correct. A 3 Bedroom can be done with 20m with good finish. But that's gonna be a Bungalow not Duplex... If it's to be Duplex, choose of finishing materials would be very key to fit in to the budget.
