Lessons To Learn From Osun State

With sukuk funds Osun built structural steel schools which are the first in Africa with 216 classrooms, 3 ICT halls, 18 laboratories and others that have the capacity to bear great loads in tension and compression, high resiliency and performance under harsh and difficult conditions. Osun steel high schools can be shaped by many processes, ranging from standard rolled sections to custom castings and digitally generated components. Osun steel high schools are wide, the buildings’ cladding highlight their durability, technical capabilities and aesthetic versatility. Osun State is the first to build steel structure schools in Africa that can accommodate more than 9,000 students.

Osun steel structure new high schools are part of the series of the state-of-the-art schools currently being constructed across the state. With Ilesa, Osogbo and Iwo steel structure sukuk high schools, Aregbesola’s government is committed to Osun schools a model in Nigeria, Africa and the entire world.

Another good thing is that Osun Steel High schools can be easily modified during the lifecycle of a building to accommodate changing occupant requirements. As the most recycled material in the world, steel is an environmentally sound building material choice. Today, structural steel is 97% recycled with the primary source being automobiles.

Architects praise the natural beauty of Osun steel schools and are excited about exposing them in the design of their structures to emphasise grace, slenderness and strength.

Where's the wisdom in taking a huge debt to award contracts for schools. The IGR that's going to pay salaries of teachers for next 50 years is left unattended to and some persons are here praising mediocrity.
...but your own region haven't commissioned anything even though they collect and pocket your taxes and allocations and last I checked, they have debts too.

Sad how you people monitor Osun state and know everything about Osun state than your own worthless and unproductive project-less states and incompetent governors with nothing to show.

Shame no dey catch you people at all.

It's unfortunate the youths of that region has been misled by kanu. They are hate personified. Instead of channelling their productive time to self development, they are screaming biafra. When it's too late to cry, they will start to envy Yoruba success and scream marginalization
The fact is, they can not raise and train their children with hate, paranoia, bigotry and tribalism and expect a different outcome.

I don't even see the situation getting any better judging from what their youths of today are displaying all over the place which in turn are going to be passed down to their own children too.

It's a sad and vicious circle.

Just like Nnamdi Kanu, all his brainless followers called Ipob are loud, brash, violent, xenophobic, paranoid, abusive, conspiratorial, greedy, sneaky, brutish, nasty, devious, uncouth, unwashed, uncultured, savage, barbaric, fickle, feral, myopic, shallow, illiterate, and irritable. No wonder they were made to believe that secession can be achieved through hate and propaganda. Ipob followers are not intelligent enough to realize that Nigerian constitution does not recognize self determination or secession. Just like General Yakubu Gowon said after the evil civil war caused by a greedy and uncouth igbo man named Ojukwu, keeping Nigeria one is a task that must be done. Nnamdi kanu has been silenced and defeated by the will of patriotic Nigerians and federal government. So will any other group of nuisance who come out to disturb our peace in the name of a conquered biafra that was dead and buried in 1970. Instead of demanding biafra, why can't the easterners be grateful to Nigerians for our hospitality towards them after the civil war they caused? Why can't easterners embrace one Nigeria and fight for their rights politically? Why can't the easterners emulate the Yoruba's way of life and sophistication? The Yoruba remains the pillar holding Nigeria together due to their academic brilliance and intelligence. Look at how the Yoruba's sacrificed their comfort to develop Lagos into a world class city. Why can't the easterners do similar thing in the east and stop waiting for the federal government intervention? When will the easterners stop shouting marginalization and copy Yoruba people who don't care about stipends from the government before developing the south west? Nnamdi kanu really misled you lots and instead of holding your irresponsible leaders accountable , you're all screaming biafra as if other tribes in Nigeria are plucking money on trees. The unity of Nigeria remains non negotiable. We will crush any useless group of terrorist masking as Ipob to destabilize our nation. God bless Nigeria sad
Sadly for them, they are too self destructive to learn from anybody.

They are who they are and so it shall remain.

You can not be from that region without EXHIBITING the common, sad and pathetic traits highlighted.

It is a communal and societal culture.

The SW built the first skyscraper in Nigeria with cocoa and rubber money before oil

The question you should be asking is what your region and villages did and are doing today before and after oil. The answer is nothing and the fact that you can not survive or make a decent living today without venturing into the SW for survival and your daily bread means your region was and is still worthless.

I know many in that region hate Fashola and PMB for whatever silly, ignorant and warped communal and societal reasons, but Fashola and PMB's name are going to be on the commissioning plaque cemented on that bridge and in our history books, saying this bridge was commissioned by His Excellency, PMB and the Minister of Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola. Siemens to supply turnkey solution for power plant in Nigeria

Azura-Edo IPP

Siemens has received an order for the key components of the Azura-Edo IPP power plant in the south of Nigeria. The turnkey plant with a total installed electrical generating capacity of 459 megawatts (MW) will be erected in collaboration with the local Julius Berger Nigeria PLC construction company. Customer is the independent power provider Azura Power West Africa. Siemens has also been awarded a long-term service contract for maintenance and service of the plant for a period of twelve years.

The picture shows the Siemens SGT5-2000E gas turbine. Three of these turbines will be supplied for the Azura-Edo power plant in Nigeria.
Siemens will supply three SGT5-2000E gas turbines, three SGen-100A generators as well as the SPPA-T3000 control system for the turbines. The Azura-Edo IPP power plant will be constructed near the town of Benin City, directly neighboring the main gas pipelines in Nigeria. Azura-Edo IPP is part of a planned power plant project by Azura Power West Africa, in which a total capacity of 1.5 gigawatts (GW) is to be installed in several phases.

Siemens has received four orders from Nigeria for power plant technology. Three SGT5-2000E gas turbines each were installed in the Geregu I (414 MW) and Geregu II (434 MW) power plants. Two gas turbines of the same model are installed in the power block Afam V (276 MW). Counting this current order for the first phase of the Azura-Edo plant, Siemens supplies eleven SGT5-2000E gas turbines with an overall capacity of 1,583 MW to Nigeria.
Edo is definitely on the move.
