Nice Kumbaya speech but I have my doubts any of that matters. State governors wont change their hardline stance unless their constituents loosen up. State governors know what time it is without more lobbying the social media storm says it all. I disagree they'll suddenly fall in line it doesn't matter. It's like saying telling conservitive state you're missing out on jobs and taxes created legal marijuana.

Social media tends to lends itself to extremes. Talks about fiscal spending and economics are boring. We all know land use makes it impossible for FG to force program. Lol posted a story about Nigers program months ago nobody cared. Now its trending topic day after day.

Anyway I'll keep my eye out for those states. Other than I want see if NASS pass some legislation on issue. If its better version of BLM that could be good for those that want it.

Ps: Edo Ondo and Benue all denied wanting parts of ruga. Ortom celebrated suspension as victory. Im not sure about rest.

For the states with the noisemakers and internet mob, the plan is all about voluntary participation so it's perfectly ok if some state governors govern based on the level of noise they measured on social media platforms, but I'm 100% sure many sensible, rational and forward-looking governors will tap into the plan and make it beneficial for their people.

If you seek an end to herdsmen and violent clashes within your borders and generate investments, growth, and IGR at the same time, this is a great plan for them to tap into.

It's pretty much redundant to expect some folks in Nigeria to reason beyond their predisposed tribal and regional sentiments or even reason with the FG in any way. If PMB turned the whole of their region into Dubai and put 1 billion dollars in their pockets, he's still going to be the devil and the hate won't go away.

The FG and or the general society cannot change them or alter their predisposed self-loathing and hating ways, but the rest of us must move on to better things.

What is the NLTP all about and why is the fg involved? Why can't they keep the whole thing in the north where they have abundant land? People need to reject this one too. Fulani have no other people's interest at heart and can't be trusted to do right by other ethnic groups, so anything livestock should remain in the north, after all it's a private business.

All the killings have been part of the plan all along to prepare ground to seize other people's native land for immigrant Fulani. I say RESIST! RESIST! RESIST!

It's very tiring going back and forth with paranoid, tribal and bigoted sentiments.

I have zero time for such sentiments.

Ok we'll see if the bait and switch works. It's easy to talk at board meeting now lets see if dave is ready to donate land tothe cause. If he's not it will stay a mainly northern project. I dont think he will since he rejected ruga as you already know.

Nothing changes for any state that doesnt want it. States should be happy theirs less competition for the herdsmen. They can have tax money and employment to themselves. People should stop trying to convice other to take these herdsmen if they're such a steal.

The United states does something similar with Bureau of Land Management. The charge grazers lease and fees for services. Im only interested in that fiscal aspect since I dont care for cronyism. The other option nobody accept a few people like myself is allowing beef imports now or after program starts.

We are too needlessly divided to do anything collectively in Nigeria for obvious tribal, religious and other reasons, we even deny ourselves progress and development just to prove our tribal and regional points.

RUGA/NLTP is a wonderful and way forward solution that addressed so many beneficial issues, but the FG even though did a terrible job selling the plan to Nigerians, but it really doesn't matter because regardless, sections of the country still won't get on board, they will deny themselves the benefits involved.

It is OK to be against FG programs and policies based on sound and logical reasons, but in Nigeria, nothing is based on sane logic, it's always about tribe and tribalism.

The plan plainly asserted that it's optional so instead of railing against the plan in it's entirety, why not just lobby your state governors to either accept or don't accept the plan, it's very simple.

Some states are already implementing the plan as we speak and others are in the process of implementation.

The plan is already off the ground in some states and states like Adamawa, Benue, Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarawa, Taraba, Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Kogi, Kwara, Ondo, and Edo are already onboard.

The internet noisemaker doesn't know what they stand to lose, but at the end of the day, their states will fall in line once the noise dies down.

Let me get this straight they're trying to trick populace with more rebranding. I doubt really doubt the reaction will be different. The states that want will say yes and states that dont wont.

Cattle colonies they said no.
Ruga they said no.
NLTP aka Ruga 2.0 will be yes?

The National Livestock Transformation Plan, under which the Ruga programme is allegedly subsumed, was approved by the National Economic Council (NEC), which state governors as its members and chaired by Vice President Osinbajo. NEC had on January 17, approved the plan, predicating its decision on the recommendations of a technical committee of the Council chaired by state.

https://www.legit.ng/1246749-osinbajo-meet-governors-ruga-settlement-controversies.html

Well, the NEC approved NLTP back in January with the support of state governors including Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, the chairman of the technical committee.

NLTP is a comprehensive livestock plan and I hope and pray it's implemented because it addressed every aspect of livestock investment and production, livestock industrialization, value chain and jobs, livestock trade, distribution, export and so on and at the same time end herdsmen issue, rustling and banditry at the same time.

You claim not to be able to identify killer herdsmen, but you can buy land for them so that they can come and dwell legally within the state where they have murdered others and escaped with these crimes. It’s like you are mentally retarded and suffering from gross delusions. So what happens when the killer herdsmen decide to go on a rampage again? When they wipe out villages because of easy proximity and a gathering of killers, you will now give them the whole village since they conquered it.

It’s like your brain is filled with gutter water. A sane government will resolve the issue of criminal elements and make sure they are prosecuted to at least gain some level of trust. Respect other people’s positions on the matter for now and focus on citing this nuisance RUGA in places where Fulani occupy in the north. Since it has been proven that they are a hostile tribe. But no, the crumbs you are being fed has made your brain start to leak.

For the sake of argument and understanding, I think I should listen to your remedies and solution, please what steps or solutions do you proffer regarding this issue.

Since you and the FG have refused to identify and prosecute these killers, we have no proof that not all Fulani Herdsmen are killers. Who armed Fulani herdsmen by the way? How come there has been no effort to disarm them and prosecute those who armed them? Why do they get army support when they kill innocent Nigerians? Why are they helped to escape? Until you can prosecute these killers, all Fulani herdsmen are killers in the eyes of everyone else. You are a strange fellow. I am sure all the crap you are writing here makes you laugh. Why have they not been prosecuted till today? Can you tell me why??!!! You sit there and talk about human rights! What is more important in human right than the right to live! Freedom of rights does not include the right of animals and the right to use your animals to take away the living or lives of others!

Human right my foot! Do you think we are all fools? You are advocating for human rights for people the president claimed are not Nigerian? Are you mad or you people cannot get your story straight? Well you can’t change the mind of other’s now. Too late!

You are not making any sense, generalization is ignorance, not all herdsmen are killers and the fact that PMB is a cattle farmer doesn't mean he hired herdsmen to roam the country or kill people in your village.

His cattle don't roam around because they graze within the 4 corners of his farm.

Think and reason like an adult and stop blabbing ignorant rubbish and meaningless generalizations.

Even chicken, goats and rams don’t roam aimlessly these days. So animal rights are not something recognized in Nigeria and using your animals to constitute a nuisance to others is absolutely obscene. There is no justification for RUGA, herdsmen killings and the protection given by government to foreigners. Where are Nigerian’s rights? The president himself is beginning to look like an ethnic bigot and all eyes are on him. He did not react to Benue killing like he reacted to Libyan killings.

Spare us your useless freedom of rights. It only applies to you and your kind when necessary but you don’t afford that decency to others. Shame on you for supporting absurdity, criminality and government decisions based on tribal lines. What is bad is bad and state governments need to do more to outrightly ban any kind of animal roaming loosely in their states.

Maybe when state governments start seizing and auctioning loose cows caught roaming herdsmen and their financiers will rest.

Your problem is intentional and paid delusions.0

You are free to rant endlessly and rage against criminal activities by some herdsmen, but you cannot collectively take away people's rights and freedom and you are not better or deserving than the next Nigerian.

@deomelo,i read your ruga epistle, the problem is the way Buhari have handled the herdsmen menance with kidsglove,no single fulani have been arrested. Secondly, the long term effect of ruga is dangerous, the fulani will settle with wives and children, get populated, and try to expand, and take over land with bloodshed.

Right now when crimes are allegedly committed by the herdsmen, they are hard to locate and bring to justice because they are mobile, but when they are confined to the designated location, it means you know where to go when they transgressed, it means an end to clashes between herdsmen and farmers, it means they have no business roaming around your communities, it means regulated, industrial livestock practices and extra income for state and LGs and ultimately, more jobs.

People from your own state are in other states and have settled with wives and children so what's your point? You have more rights than other Nigerians just because they are Fulani people?

Yes, we hate the fact that bad elements within the herdsmen community are killers and dangerous elements, but it doesn't mean we should fold our hands and do nothing or find and institute permanent solutions.

...besides, the program is optional, they are not forcing your state or local governments to participate so lobby your state government not to participate, it's niit by force.

Sad to see the President suspend the RUGA program, but I do understand the reason for the cancelation, but the president shouldn't have cave because the golden part of leadership is making though, critical and unpopular decisions.

Nigeria wasn't built or created to be a successful country and I don't see Nigeria becoming a great Nation any time soon simply because Nigerians are not ready to claim any manner of greatness.

The cry, wail, lament and demand positive actions by the government to address burning and critical issues facing them, but they trash, ground disrupt every government action and solution because of their own self-division, paranoia, ignorance, tribalism and bigotry.

Corrupt Politicians are unaccountable and still loot us day after day because they know we are divided and they have their own local tribal elements and bigots to defend them by playing either the religious, tribal or ethnic card to muddy up the charges against them even before the corrupt politicians hire their own multi-million naira SANs.

RUGA is a practical and sensible solution and it's not even new government policy, it's been around since independence and there are RUGA settlements in Nigeria as we speak.

We can not prevent herdsmen from roaming around the country the same way we can not prevent other Nigerians from leaving their towns and villages to live or seek daily bread in other states.

RUGA means you won't see herdsmen roaming around your towns and villages, it means zero confrontations with farmers and local communities because RUGA is a controlled and licensed environment, a genuine place of business, a tax generating establishment where cattle farmers will safely practice real ranching operations under strict government supervision.

Some of us are hypocrites, socially and tribally confused, culturally lost, mentally twisted and corrupt and we can not make serious decisions to better ourselves and our country because tribal, regional and political affiliations are wells we draw our decision making from, we respond to issues based on paranoia, bigotry, tribalism and gross ignorance.

We can not solve our own problems so we elect and pay our leaders to solve our problems while at the same time turn around to fight every government solution, every government program, and policy.

You did not defeat RUGA, you are the loser.

She had revealed that she gave millions of dollars to the then Special Adviser to the President on Domestic Affairs, Waripamowei Dudafa, to open accounts for her.

Somiari, however, claimed that Dudafa opened five accounts for Patience and that only one of the accounts was in her name, while the other four were opened in the names of companies belonging to Dudafa.

A detective at the EFCC, however, revealed that Dudafa used his domestic servants’ names to open the four other accounts and then deposited the money into the accounts.

Check out the looting and stealing scheme..

She gave the money to her proxies to deposit while trying to hide the fact the fact that the money came from her since.

Her proxies then tried to hide and shield their own ass because they obviously knew it was bad and ill-gotten money so instead of opening the accounts i their own names, they used the names of their servants, but only Patience Jonathan had access and privileges to spend the money, not the poor servants even though the money is technically their money.

The woman is a dumb crook, no more using innocent people to steal and hide money with proxies..
