madamgrace: So you mean someone is gullible for having preference? If not for transcion phones how many people would be using Android phones in Nigeria? Currently, itel... is blazing, I could easily use 30k to buy s16 (quality phone), but can I use same amount to buy non transcion brands? Pls stop sermonising us. Minimum wage is still 30k I just taya. They say ' Variety is the spice of life' and i-tel offers just that. Dash these guys an i-tel device and see them turn to sycophants. I'm very impressed with their strategy of targeted manufacturing instead of flooding the market with high end devices already being massively produced by other so called flagship brands; i-tel has the capacity to do this; it's deliberate I guess. |

I like that they optimized its battery (5000mAh) and RAM (2GB) even while maintaining its S16- esque build - Double S Lining + AG Effect And maintaining a slim girth & weight The selfie cam too is great (8 MP, Face Recognition, 1080p@30fps video capture.) Aprops to i-tel. |

I need your suggestions. Thanks. You know that with that price range, there's only about a few options right? I advise you try out the itel S16 Pro.; it's within your budget's reach and dons cool feature even + your specified 2gig ram. https://www.nairaland.com/6184232/meet-selfie-smartphones-without-limits |

PRYCE: Just googled it.
Has a 3GB RAM variant as well.
Costs between ₦25 to ₦32k
"It sports a 5-megapixel camera on the front for selfies, with a 1.4-micron aperture."
Impressive 5MP at f/1.4 aperture? Large pinhole for adequate lighting and wide angling. This is audacious from itel. I hardly come across this kinda cam spec. Left to see what users have to say about its general capabilities |

Looks cool too. |

maseki: What nonsense are you saying? A phone of 1/16gb with an ancient of days processor almost irrelevant camera will beat S16 pro? Goes to tell you the disdain for itel & its new releases. The disrespect is criminal mehn In what world does someone who's smartphone savvy (or not) compare 1/16gb to 2/32gb, the processors on both devices and their cam setups? The itel S16 pro 4G LTE def trumps it hands down. |

chariisGRACE: The lady said she applied IG filter. Don't make it look like it was taken straight from the Itel S16. Filters can do just about so much if the cameras aren't great in the first place Miss Grace. What's so hard in believing the itel S16 took this even with her admission that she applied filters? The camera set ups on the S16 series are great and taking pictures are much about ability as they are about the Cameras themselves. I've taken pretty ugly pictures on some so called "flagships" before; doesn't take away nothing from their cameras sha. |

talk2ekpa: Alright, as you wish. https://www.droidafrica.net/gadget/itel-s16-pro-4g-lte/ In the link above, I tried to elaborate on the key differences between iTel S16 Pro and S16 Pro 4G LTE. But some people are not still getting it. There are three smartphones in the iTel S16-series(The standard S16, S16 Pro and S16 Pro 4G LTE) These three device might have similar naming scheme, but there are not entirely the same. For example, vanilla S16 has just 6.5 inches display, while the S16 Pro and the S16 Pro LTE has 6.6-inches.
Secondly, S16 Pro and Pro 4G LTE has same design and looks, but with different internals. The S16 Pro has same CPU on the standard S16 which does not offer 4G network, but only the S16 Pro LTE has 4G network, and is probably powered by an octa-core UNISOC SC9863A CPU.
I could go on and on, but you can read more for yourself in the link provided above. Great exposé. I was thinking about doing a similar thread but you beat me to it which is OK. The itel S16 series all have distinct features (In price & specs) which prospective buyers should understand. The S16 is the least packed in the series as compared to the S16 Pro 4G LTE which is the elite of them all. The itel S16 pro 4G LTE does it for me though as it's more in touch with the times we are in. |

theFilmtric: The main reason most Xiaomi fan boys are filled with hate for other brands especially Transsion brands is the unpopularity of Xiaomi in real life Nigeria.
Xiaomi is clearly not as good as nairaland fan boys rate it.
I have been a guest on Nairaland for about 3 years now and I have seen a lot of hate coming from Xiaomi fan boys.
But lately some transsion users are starting to return the fire.
Buy what you want to buy don't be based on Nairaland in your choice!.
I use a blackberry device.
theFilmtricsay I seriously don't understand the hate for these transsion devices like Itel. These phones have succeeded in what they were intended for; to afford even the less privileged some inclusiveness. These smartphones are so popular, you cannot dissuade Nigerians from patronizing them so it frustrates them. |

Umidigi isn't strong, it is just beautiful
If u want semi durable + beauty go for xiaomi
If you want durability + beauty buybl iphone or nokia Durability trumps beauty afterall. itel succeeds in this area. With my level of carelessness, had it been any other phone, I'd be phoneless. My itel keeps pulling up for me. |

theFilmtric: Get trashed on Youtube?? How does that relate to Nigeria Is Youtube Nigeria?
Years of criticism by Transsion fans? If you don't know in Nigeria if I put an hot 9 with 6000maH and any Xiaomi or Umidigi with that price range an Average Nigerian will go for the hot 9
You are obviously not the Average African
“So you think an African would want a phone that would lag soo much that the only way to use it comfortably is to restore factory settings every few months and lose all your data?” This is a lie My sis has been using an hot5 for about 3 years now the only problem is the 16gb space and it was always telling her to free space. She bought an SD card and that was solved!
And mind you when I am talking Transsion I am talking about Tecno and Infinix You can't buy an Itel phone of 20000 and expect good specs!! Its clearly for the poor
I am not a promoter of any brand
But the main reasons I don't like Xiaomi are 1.The chinese name “XIAOMI” too chinese for me 2.I personally don't fancy their MIUI (I even prefer XOS to it 3.Spare parts are scarce I know you might try to come up with all that durable talk but when it comes to durability according to what I've observed transsion phones are more durable 4.Chinese version and Global version WTF 5.Rubbish space My second sister bought a Redmi 7 or so The supposed space was 32 Gb What we met there was 10 Gb available Nonsense system apps and MIUI had taken 22 Gb 6.No acessories in the market e.g pouches,Screen guards etc 7.From what I've seen from Xiaomi users in my 3 year Guest stay on Nairaland They seem insecure, bashing everywhere with Xiaomi I obviously don't want to feel insecure because of a phone!
theFilmtricsay Allow these critics. Brands like itel have their products tailored to low-income people. The fact that phones are affordable means one thing; they aren't fully packed but somewhat to meet the VERY basic needs of the targeted consumer. If they pack all the specs, then it wouldn't be affordable would it?? These guys are just frustrated that itel and other transsion smartphones have captured a very large swathe of the Nigerian market. |

The pro is less than 40k
You can look it up What I'm saying exactly. There's only few options out there with these specs under 40k. Most phones with this camera setup (triple) are way past 35-40k. Then u got 4kmAH, and this screen size. This is great. |

God forbid even if things go south for me, I'd rather remain 'phoneless' than torture myself with this piece of calamity. Your comment here is an affront on low income people u know right? I'm sure some are managing themselves with something as little as this and you saying you'd rather remain phoneless. If your cloth is bigger than this, kindly let those whose size it is to explore na bro. Penaldo: As beautiful as selfies appear, they sometimes suffer from beatable limits like taking bright pictures of ourselves. Or inefficient power set-up to keep the shots coming. This is the challenge itel Mobile’s S16 series seeks to address. Comprising itel S16, S16 Pro, and S16 Pro (4G LTE), the selfie series is giving the promise of bright selfies, functionality and appealing designs. The series equally resolves the troubles that come with keeping selfies, perfect selfies at that, stored in a safe and secure space. All of these are about value for the smartphone user, particularly selfie-takers. Released recently, the itel S16 Series offer: Bright Selfies 24/7 Running on AI Selfie 2.0 technology, the series provides clear modes, in different forms, to users for great selfie experiences. The AI Dirty Lens Detection preps things for these experiences. With this feature, the smartphones recommend having lenses cleaned when they are dirty to ensure clearer selfies. While AI Face Beauty 3.0 makes sure users’ selfies are properly enhanced based on their age, gender and skin colour, the AI Portrait HDR feature applies compelling clarity to the faces of users in selfie shots. Gallery Go by Google completes the serving by keeping the selfies safe and organized. Right Mood, Game Time The beauty of a great selfie lies in the power of a genuine smile. When users spot the smiley face, the Smile Selfie Feature on the S16 series draws on this to automatically capture selfies. Both itel S16 and S16 Pro are appropriately designed to take care of this with ease. And you'd find this playing out in the output (beautiful selfies) that are captured afterwards. Style and Varieties The series meets the standards of a proper lifestyle product. This is easy to spot in the itel S16 with its 6.5’’ Waterdrop FullScreen. The story is the same on the S16 Pro which bears a 6.6” Dot-notch FullScreen. It’s quite interesting that both devices are shaped by the 8.3mm Slim Uni-body Design which makes them accessible for one-hand operation. For itel S16 Pro, users can choose between the 3G and 4G options to browse, connect and stay updated. Both itel S16 and S16 Pro run on a solid 4000mAh Big battery supported by an upgraded AI Power Master for longer battery life. Put together, these features put the itel S16 and S16 Pro in a good place. The devices set a new mark for how lifestyle products should look like, taking on major improvements for the end-user’s delight. itel S16 series is available at itel dealer shops and mobile phone stores in your city. The edges on it are sleek. 4000 mAh is great. 6.6 inches screen LTE A dogged processor And a camera system great in low light are the new benchmark in premium. I see this one comes with 90% of these. Time to change?? |
