Politics / Re: What Kind Of Restructure Do We Really Need? by Desmondum: 8:55am On Nov 25, 2020
The system itself needs to be changed : All people in power and their relatives sudnt be able to travel out for educational, recreational or for health reasons again.

Their children MUST always school in the country. ( In the process of being in the office and after)

Governors should be paid according to how much money their state makes ( by this, they will be more functioning).

A suitable environment, where investors can come and thrive so there wud be enough jobs for people.

Government itself should invest in agriculture for easy access to food.

All the government officials salary sud greatly be reduced, they mustn't earn more than professors. Those money sud be spent on reasonable things like security, health and education.

Local government sud be more open and accessible to folks.

Solid citizenship data should be recorded from time to time.

It goes on and on like that.

The fact is, these people know what to do, they just wudnt do it. I think all black people need reformation or restructuring self, selfishness is tooooo much. That's the problem.

So happy to see a comment like this... don't mind Op, this is how they mislead ppl and kill the self esteem of those innocent graduates.

Most of them do not know what labour market is all about, they will just start typing anything that comes to their hand.

In the real sense, most companies do not care about ur grade any longer ( tho, few still do) majority of them are after u making money for them.

U are not the only one my brother, imagine some Yahoo guys recently post on top famous job websites, covering under one company.

Only for them to be able to get people who will be sending erotic messages to their clients.

The most ridiculous thing I have ever come across in my life. Just Imagine Yahoo guys developing that kinda nerve these days.

It's better if they are verifying truly, so they can also keep their own image intact.

As for Cflead, those people will not make heaven. U'll think u av applied for a reasonable job only for these spammers to be messaging u, I don report them tire.

Education / Re: Do Not Study A Course Just Because You Like It. by Desmondum: 1:48am On Nov 11, 2020
galantjoe:
Based on my 15years practical experience during job interviews on what employers really want, the following courses if well studied can always fetch you food on your table.
1. Medicine and surgery
2. Pharmacy, becoming certified
3. Law and becoming barrister
4. BSc nursing and having RN
5. Accountancy, becoming chartered or knowing your onion.
6. Computer science, knowing your onion
7. Computer engr. Knowing your onion.
8. Civil, machanical, chemical engineering, knowing your onion
9. Architecture,
10. Applied art
11. Music
12. Food science, technology, nutrition and dietetics
13. Actuarial science
14. Mathematics with finance/IT or applied maths with options computing, finance, analytics, etc
15. Physics with options in practical Engineering, technology, mechanics, electronics, computing, IT, ETC.
16. Chemistry with option in. Practical engineering, paint production, industrial uses, etc.
17. Education options in English, local languages, science education, technology, etc.

Only Medicine and Nursing really worth it among the listed. There's one useful course u didn't add - Business Administration/Management ( tho, the field is highly populated, causing some sort of setback)

Pharmacy and Food sc/Nutrition- these can work if only u have money for establishment on ur own.

As for computer science/IT related... good, but its market is falling already as a result of millions of people heading in just one direction.

From my experience tho, no course is useless, it's just the harsh situation our leaders has put this country as a result of their selfishness.

Klass99:
My Job Mag and Hot Nigerian Jobs, remain the most reliable job sites to me. I have been shortlisted for interviews through these sites. Some interviews ended in a job offer, as far as I am concerned these sites are authentic and simply the best.

As adults we should take some responsibility for due diligence in our job search. Don't expect that these sites will do all the heavy lifting for us and spoon feed us.

They already do a great job by informing of us open vacancies, expecting them to verify every vacancy before they post, feels like, too much of an entitlement mentality to me.

If you receive emails from Cflead just press the delete button and move on, if you feel like it, write them an email blasting them and ask them to leave you out of their mailing list.

Hot Nigerian Jobs posted a vacancy from an organization that used a Gmail account. I applied because the role appealed to me and it played to my strengths, by the time I was invited for an interview I was pleasantly surprised at the employer/organization behind that gmail account.

The HR person later informed me that, he avoids using the company's email account for recruitment exercises because when people see the company name, they flood their inbox with applications to breaking point, making the selection process and entire exercise extremely difficult.

I could have ignored that advertised opening because a Gmail account was used (in our warped minds we automatically assume it must be fake) but I am glad I didn't. My point is simple, apply for jobs and see where it all leads to, if you don't like the direction in which it's going, nothing stops you from removing yourself from the recruitment process.

No one is taIking about spoon feeding here.
No one is saying these job sites are not trying.
No one is saying he/she can't remove him or herself off any fake recruitment.

No one is saying he/she can't take responsibility for due diligence in his/her job search.

What we are saying here:

It does tarnish these sites image : of course, we love and appreciate them and we have so much trust in them, but why is it that no one visits Jiji job site again?
The answer is simple... posting of fake jobs, which also affects their other businesses...most people do not trust them.

That's what we are saying here. It only comes as a piece of advice to those Admins not for any other thing.

And if u read carefully, u'll notice some of them were mentioned, and we clearly (myself and former contributors of this thread) pointed out they were doing wonderfully well before now. Of course, I got my present job by applying through hotnigerianjobs (just willing to quit due to personal reasons) and I always appreciate that.

Only all of a sudden, things changed (perhaps as a result of present economy of the country), they may not know at their side and u think we that noticed will be doing them favor by knowing and keeping quiet?

The rate at which these scammers are easily penetrating to their affair is alarming. We all know they are everywhere, but let's say 1 out of 10/15 jobs wud be from these scammers before now.
But since it's now 7 out of 8... don't u think these scammers are desperate and do not care if they paint these people's sweat another color entirely?

If you care about them as they care about you, u wudnt keep quiet knowing something like this.

This thread has not been created to embarrass or harm any of them, it is to call their attention. Besides, only those searching for job at present can fully understand this thread.

Hotnigerianjobs website - kudos
Of course, Hotnigerianjobs used to be the best as for me too. But these scammers have really gotten to them too these days, more reason I created this thread. I think the best thing they sud be doing is comfirming these job vacancies from the companies.

All companies at least have a number they can call on their website n I'm sure after proper introduction, they can get to the HR department on request. It's not gonna cost them much.

It's serious. I wish the companies those scammers are impersonating cud just come across those job adverts online, track the mails and sue them.
Jobs/Vacancies / Are All Jobs On Job Sites Now Scam? -Do job sites confirm jobs before uploading? by Desmondum: 4:52am On Oct 20, 2020
Am I the only one noticing this?
If you apply for 8 jobs online, 7 out of the 8 will be CF lead and others. Sometimes the 8 self. These people post real jobs but u later end up getting mails from these set of fraudster.

Do job sites try to confirm job vacancies from the hiring companies?

If not, I think it's high time they started that, cos these scammers are painting them another color. Or are they just about traffic and adverts alone?

Not even a single job site can be trusted these days. These scammers are really getting to them.

Op abeg if you see any such App mention me...the Truecaller block and my phone block ain't doing me any good.

Some people I blocked almost 3 years ago are stilling calling me with the hope that the busy response my number keeps giving them will one day go through, and I can't afford to change this my number.

Some people are just stone cold persistent. grin
As at now bro, I don't think there is, cos av bn on this for a while. There was a time I needed to block someone, i tried researching but to no avail. Same thing is happening this time, I think I'll just do the usual blacklist and have my peace.
But in case u later find a useful App anytime too, kindly mention me also.

Please does anyone know how to block someone on mobile phone without the phone saying the usual ' number busy'?

I mean, I would like the blocked contact to hear things like number not available or switched off.

Is there an app for this or something?

@holadhayor I mentioned you together with morzook so you could see one of the reasons I uploaded the list here, many people wudnt still believe no matter what. That's why I had to do it that way.

I used to be like morzook too until this happened to me. Who knows? Exposing them to the core might just help some more people, not just doing this for myself.

The list has been removed anyway, but I'm glad some people were able to see it.

Jobs/Vacancies / Government Recruitment In Nigeria Is Scam: What Happened In Oyo State by Desmondum: 11:18pm On Sep 01, 2020
I have been hearing people saying this but I never believed, I used to think those people are just finding excuses for their failure. Now it has happened to me.

We applied for advertised jobs at the Oyo State Hospital Management Board around November last year, qualified applicants wrote CBT around February this year. The results were out around March and people who failed and passed were able to see/check their result one way or the other.

Now, wen the list for shortlisted candidates for interview was pasted just last week, it was not up to 10-20% of the people that passed. It became obvious that only connection worked here.

My question now is that, is this how we are going to continue in this country?

What exactly is the future of youths in Nigeria?

For how long are we going to remain this way?

Kindly share your experience if you have passed through a situation like this either on State or Federal level, I would also appreciate other people that applied, passed and denied employment in Oyo State Hospital Management Board to buttress this. I don't want to keep quiet because our silence keep making things worse in this country.

Below is the list of people that passed in my department. I'll upload the few list for the final shortlisted candidates next to it, just 18 people.
Apologies to anyone who might not like his or her name published, but I just have to do this, we can't continue this way in this country.

Mods, I'll really appreciate if you guys can move this to FP.
