Afam4eva: As a matter of urgency, i think Nigeria needs to close it's borders from British citizens who are coming to Nigeria to seek a better life. One good turn deserves another.
Couldn't agree with you more.

Now you see why I think Lagos' borders should be closed to never do wells ibos.

We seem to be on similar wavelength today.

mikeansy: If this policy comes to effect Nigeria owes it as a duty to herself to place harsh conditions to all British interests in Nigeria.

All British expatriate workers should require to pay 5000pounds visa fee and 1million pounds bond to come and work in Nigeria

The tax policies for all businesses with British ownership should also be raised to 50%

We really don't need Britain anymore to be honest. It is time to isolate this arrogant good for nothing country!
Well, I'm sure that is a negligible price to pay as far as the British government is concerned when cognisance is taken of the number of Nigerians present and willing to enter the UK in sharp comparison to the very few Britons who work in Nigeria.

I wouldn't mind paying such price if I were the uk. Britons in Nigeria majorly highly skilled tax payers whose expertise are highly sought after as opposed to prejoratively low skilled economic migrants who troop into the UK.

The UK wins.

Ah well, Nigeria's itinerant shoppers will simply have to strike Britain off their list.
Meaning only the wealthy would be allowed.

Makes sense to me, judging by the manner in which Nigerians and other Asian countries abuse that country.

PoliticsRe: Ladipo Traders On Rampage by Desola(f): 11:05pm On Jul 28, 2013
You are taken aback by my utterances? Are you a newbie here?

It is an open secret that I detest ibos and a self professed ibo slayer on this forum so I'm quite surprised that you take me to be someone else.

I would one day make decisions in Lagos and trust me, it would be with delight that I frustrate ibos so much they would run at the mention of Lagos.

ALTRUTH: Let me say it loud and clear that Igbos are peace-loving people and law-abiding citizens of this country. It is so bad that people are quick to draw broad generalizations here on Nairaland. It is also sad to read from doyakau, trying desperately to generate hatred against the Igbos by spreading lies. Also very surprising are the comments I have read from my own Desola, asking Yorubas to boycott our goods, stop selling land to us and even stop marrying us (what should I do about my feelings for you?).

Let me say it here and now that Lagos is a Yoruba land although the truth is that various ethnic groups have been actively involved in the development of Lagos especially the Igbos. It is wrong for anyone to say Lagos is not a Yoruba land because Igbos are now in millions in the state.

We Igbos are not nursing any violent agenda against the Yorubas as some of you think. We as a people love peace and development. I am shocked when I hear Yorubas say that Igbos do not allow other tribes buy land in the East. My question is have you gone to purchase land and you were turned backhuh I know the answer is a resounding "No!'

The reason why you see Igbos all over the SW and even in the North is because our land is too small for us (check the Nigerian map). Competition in the East is so stiff that is why we pour out in millions. Yorubas who think that the East is not being developed are ignorant. Take a tour through the East and you will see that we are really putting things in order.

And for the Yorubas trying to advocate violence against the Igbos, let me say it loud and clear that any aggression towards the Igbos would be the biggest mistake the Yorubas could ever make. Violence against the Igbos would be suicidal! I urge Yorubas not to make that mistake! Destroying your relationship with the Igbos would ultimately backfire, time will come when you will need our help against the invaders(I leave this for the mature minds to ponder).

If Yorubas no longer want to be part of Nigeria then you could call for a referendum and vote to opt out and start up Ouda republic. I know that a well managed Igbo-Yoruba relationship can produce fantastic results. let us think please!

WE DON'T HAVE ANY HIDDEN AGENDA ABOUT LAGOS.

Lol... Who is the young lady being radicalised by Dayo?

Hahahaha...perhaps you are new on this forum. Lol...I would radicalise your own region sef. Pshew! Jokes of the century!

You must think that this is my first time of seeing that video. Nonsense!

Ibo alakuko

remark D: Why are you guys so concerned of the welfare of the Igbos? if you hate them so much as your want us to believe, why warn them of something that will lead to the "internal combustion" or elimination of the whole race as you wish?

Have you seen how you are your own problem(s)?

In front of our eyes, Dayo is radicalizing a young lady and promoting Akintolas speech from 50 years ago to generate more hatred in 2013 against Igbos...

You know, man... I aint worried at all. Because when you hate someone so much, and cant do anything about it... its just gonna eat you up inside... and you end up taking rat poison out of frustration.

If killing 2 million Igbos did not give Awolowo the satisfaction and peace in life that he wanted....

If the indigenization decree that transferred ownership of premier companies in Nigeria to yorubas was not enough to give the brains behind it some happiness and rest/peace in life....

then no matter how many Igbos, by omission or commission that happen to leave Lagos....

no matter how uch bribe is given to Baba-ole....

no matter how many customary laws of the yoobas that the Igbos choose or refuse to observe...

you and I know that you still wont have peace in life.... because allo that stuff is not the problem....

look in the mirror, and you will see that the person looking back at ya aint an Igbo niggga

"Onye ji mmadu n'ala ji onwe ya."

geeez: Well my sis, I don't buy things from them because I dont trust them. How can a shop owner claim to have and sell authentic and fake merchandize in the same store? Who does that? Most things I but are from Americans, South Africans, Indians and Chinese
Well, that is good but you must start to sensitize those around you too. You are not boycotting them only because their products are substandard but because there is a subconscious/conscious war to polarise your land. Always remember that one Nigeria is a fallacy.

Enough of talking about politics, lets get into politics and make changes. The future of Lagos and the west of Nigeria lies in our hands.

We must set forth at dawn!
PoliticsRe: Ladipo Traders On Rampage by Desola(f): 9:08am On Jul 28, 2013
Yorubas should stop all these talks and start boycotting their markets, abi?

They came to situate their markets in your land because they want your patronage. If you stop patronising them and take your business to your fellow Yoruba traders would they continue to thrive? Afterall, you are their biggest market. The power is in your money and how and where you choose to spend it.

Start patronizing your own and start sensitizing your people!

Shikena!

Trying to be reasonable doesnt work with some people. There is a reason America didnt go into dialogue with Al qaeda.

What Akintola said in his 1964 broadcast about "I before Others" is now coming to the fore

I am listening to his speech now. In UI they employed 112 staffs and 108 were from Iboland, 3 from Yorubaland

Egbe Alakuko would be shouting One Nigeria, One country, One destiny.

Bring an Ibo man you see Ikeji-ani, Iketa-ani, Ikerin-ani till Ikeedoogun-ani

Anyone who understands deep Yoruba should go listen to Akintolas speech in 1964 and relate it to whats going on right now

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErVSJKMRyhM&list=PL815E8285DE730EC6
Akintola really did see the future; he left that message for posterity sake. If only Yoruba youths would stop their falseness, sit up and listen to this message while not feigning their false inability to understand what they choose to term 'conc- Yoruba', perhaps then, a reawakening would start. All these stupid inter tribal marriages with ibos need to stop as well, as if care is not taken, the governor of Lagos state would bear 'Emeka Adele' by virtue of having a Yoruba father. This is the other cunning way in which the ibos are polarising the state and the region. Furthermore, I'm not blind to the foolishness of the Fasola's government in appointing an ibo commissioner because in the next dispensation, as by so doing, he has covertly given the ibos entitlement to the governance of the state so do not be surprised if the ingrates now show boldness by demanding a strong representation should the next government decide that positions should be held by indegenes alone.

Eyin omo Oodua, e je ki aro inu yin ba odofin soro. Ibos are not your friends. One Nigeria is a fallacy! Protect your interests now!

Stop patronising their businesses, stop selling your lands to them and stop giving your children in marriages to them. Mo so temi na.

Akintola has said it all.

0monnakoda: What the Yorubas should be fighting for is driving these barbabic ,unruly ,ungrateful and dirty traders away from Mushin.
They come and convert residential buildings into shops and call it a market.Such dirtiness may be part of their hircine customs but we don't want this in Lagos. If they do not like the laws of Lagos they can try Kwara state. Babaloja WILL REMAIN and Sookoodi can go back to Onisha if he does not like it.
The fact that we are having this discussion proves the Sardauna was right in everything he said about the Eboe
Can you go to Zamfara state and open a Pork market huh This stubborness will lead to closure of the market ultimately and we shall be glad to see their backs
Very well said.

No rule was broken yet one of your colleagues( I cringe at the mention of that because I know you are above board and far more diplomatic) chose to hide it because he could.

I know that the gentleman that you are would stop you from questioning these offendrs but as a bona fide moderator I want to bring it to your notice. As usual, I don't expect you to respond as you hate to be seen as biased to your kinfolk but I do want you to take note.

lastpage: I dont know how old you are but even if you are underage (at least yo have access to the internet and you can type!), you should try and "READ-UP" on your history, instead of asking questions that make you appear silly.

I will summarize it for you but l expect you to go back to your Library and CONFIRM whatever l have written:

1.) The Biafran war was initially between the Igbos (Easterners) and the Hausa/Fulani (Northerners). Igbos were killed in the North, there was Reprisals in the East just like Igbo Military guys killed Northern Military elites and Northerners retaliated... and so on. SO, Igbos wanted "out"

2.) At this stage, the Westerners have NOTHING to do with the war. Igbos tried to "DRAG US" into it, by asking for our support, to join them to fight the Northerners. It was coyed in form of a "We will declare secession and we want you to do the same, when we do ours". The reasoning was that the Northerners cannot afford to fight the war on two fronts.

3.) The Westerners, characteristically take "good stock" before engaging in any action (Read Wole Soyinka's quote about "Bravery not being in reckless actions and words".) They gave it a "second thought" and realized they were NOT PREPARED to FIGHT AND WIN A WAR RIGHT NOW.

4.) While the Yorubas were still bidding for time to "get prepared for a war" (Weapons and Logistics), the Igbos, in their Characteristic manner of boating, reckless bravado and self-over-exaggeration of ability, as a result of their inability to "critically self-examine" (something they termed as cowardice in Westerners/Yoruba) SIMPLY DECLARED SECESSION and that marks the beginning of the BIAFRAN WAR! They never consulted and sought approval of the Yorubas whom they expect to CO-OPT into WAR!

Now, How this is the problem of Yorubas or how we caused them to Declare secession, is still a mystery.

5.) The war has been on for over 15months and the Westerners/Yorubas simply stood aside. Some Yorubas (like Col. Banjo, Wole Soyinka even gave "tacit support" to the Igbo cause because we sympathize with their victimisation (rightly or wrongly), in the North.

6.) Odumegwu Ojukwu, who as a personification of the Igbo war, wisdom and cause .... at one point felt he MUST FORCE THE YORUBAS into the war. We made him understand that "we feel we cannot win the war as we were NOT PREPARED FOR THE WAR. The mallams have control of all the important Garrisons, the armoured battalions even in Ibadan!
Only a stupid man goes to war expecting his enemy to make things easy for him or provide him with weapons and support.

7.) As balanced as the war was at this point, Ojukwu, in his "infantile wisdom" was still adamant on forcing the hand of the Westerners into the war.
OJUKWU HENCE DEVISED A STEWPID AND CLANDESTINE MOVE: HE STARTED ATTACKING THE WESTERN REGION!
He crossed the Onitsha bridge and started waging war Southwards! He ransacked the Mid West (Benin and Delta regions), he looted, burned the remains and took our women hostage, raping and generally sowing mayhem.

8.) Awo sent message to him requesting that OJUKWU SHOULD DIRECT HIS WAR EFFORT NORTHWARDS as we will like to remain NEUTRAL. Ojukwu will hear nothing of this.

9.) AWOLOWO was using "WISDOM" while OJUKWU was using "RECKLESSNESS and BRAWN".
One after another, Ojukwu ransacked Western Cities, Edo fell, Akure, Ondo town fell (undefended) until He got to Oore.
This is when Awolowo reasoned that you cannot be attacking and killing my people, while you say we are friends.
NOTE: Yorubas NEVER ATTACKED IGBOS.

During the war up to this point, those who chose to remain in Lagos, were still well protected by their Lagos Host (infact, Lagos was a Federal capital so we considered them "one of us".)

10.) When Ojukwu will not listen to reason, and as typical of most Igbo (and you can see the same herd mentality over here), none of his brethrens were willing to tell him the truth; They chose to bury their heads in the sand.

Awolowo was finally rumbled and roused from his patience and in a SINGLE DISPLAY of MASTERLY STROKE, he brought the Biafran Shenanigan to a HALT IN OORE!

Now, what would the average Igbo leader or person do (let us be honest to ourselves for once, we are still brothers), if your so-called friend is attacking you, killing your people and setting your house on fire, when you have done him no wrong?
We did not wrong the Igbo, they attacked us, just to force us into a war we never wanted to be a part of.

This is the part of "the War History" that Igbo fathers and grand fathers have refused to tell their children.
They have tried to justify their stewpidty and treachery while blaming their fool-hardiness and consequent loss of the war on Yorubas.
For christ sake, its a war, a 3year war we are talking about! In war, ALL IS FAIR!! Thats why its called a W-A-R-R-R wink

So, if you must insult Awolowo for the action he took, you must also acknowledge his patience and reluctance to engage in war while at the same time, you have to salute his acumen and tactical approach at ending a war that had dragged on for over two years, in less than six months.
That is the stuff Yorubas are made-of!
No Gra-Gra, No mouthing, No chest-beating, No self-delusion, No grand-standing, ....Just meticulous planning and precise execution.

Ojukwu and his military tacticians should have known better than to start a war they cant finish, expecting to force an ally's hand into war, wasting the lives of over two million Igbos in what essentially was a show of Gra-Gra ..and attacking the WEST! (Bad Move)

Lastpage!

BTW: The only reason l have gone to great lengths to expose and espouse this here is so that ignorant ones amongst you, whose parents lied to them about how they were almost conquering the whole world grin , ....can try and read-up their history, direct their anger/energy in the right direction and dont make the same mistake again.

Also, remember that Fashola did NOT DEPORT ALL or ORDINARY IGBOS from Lagos, the minuscule quantity he deported (if true) are those who can be considered "Nuisance". No work, No Home, No education, No visible means of sustenance!

I salute my Igbo Brothers! kiss kiss
