Politics › Re: Igbo Group In Lagos Writes Fashola, Complains About Marginalisation by Desola(f): 2:37am On Dec 28, 2014 |
smartigo: This letter would have carried more sincere intention than it seems now. More like exploring all available means to blackmail the government of the day for political reasons.
Some requests are off the hook. Like asking for the definition of Nigeria using just a state to deny it's people some privileges they enjoy which at the federal level they aren't enjoying. These benefits will come by integration; be part of the people, identify with their culture, life styles and not taunt them about how their lives would have been hellish without you.
The fact you could write this letter, it clearly shows the freedom of expression you enjoy in the first place. See yourself as Lagosian and not igbo in Lagos.
Until then,ur intention will be seen as an act of domination. It is an indirect threat to say if you don't give us these things, we will vote for Jimi Agbaje. With that stup1d ondo man wearing IBO garb recently, I won't be surprised if they succumb to some of their greedy, incomprehensible demands. |

9jacrip: Tinubu needs to be reined in really.
Something better be in the offing before these things get out of hands. Seems you all are finally waking up. If Tinubu can install an Ondo man as the governor of Lagos, his thirty something year old daughter installing an IBO woman as iya loja and his ijebu wife as senator of Lagos state why then do you question him why he appointed an IBO man as commissioner? He is telling you that Lagos is free for all. While I love my Yoruba people and open to them being part of the government of Lagos, I fear that allowing Tinubu an unchecked authority to determine our destiny in Lagos is very dangerous more so as we are still in a federal system. If we were in a regional system then by all means let an iragbiji man rule Lagos so long we are all working for the betterment of the Yoruba race but in a unitary government, allowing anyone from any state take positions which should ordinarily be for an indigenous person gives all sorts of bastards especially those from the east to demand what isn't naturally in their capacity to demand. Tinubu not being a true Lagosian will never know where the shoe really pinches. I'm afraid that eventually tinubu will placate these ingrates and there won't be much we can do about it because we have reposed in him, too much power. |

Nigerians should stop this humility 5hit and vote for someone with a good track record! Don't vote for Buhari only because he said he has no dollar to give or because he said he has only a few cows or that he has at least a million naira in his account but because his record speaks for him. Judge him on his performances in the different offices he held! If you fall for all these bus rides gimmick then you are still making the same mistake you made when you fell for Jonathan's "I had no shoes" sop story. Ask critical questions next time! Don't fall for shopping centre selfies o. That is not humility and humility isn't what rules a nation!
Stop being so effing sentimental! Vote Buhari because Buhari is the best! |

joedrae: Good one but I won't agree with you that this is hypocrisy.
Reasons: if you have worked hard for a while or came from a wealthy family and can afford one or two cars and you can drive them to wherever you are going, I see no reason why you'll jump buses. I still jump buses too but Mehn! It's nor sweet at all. Osinbajo did this inorder to speak to and hear from the people @ the grassroot. If he chooses to ride in his cars, he can't get that. And it's not as if he's riding in a BRT since he was announced as GMB's running mate.
Then as per humility, I must say he is very humble, I've attended his church on the island a number of times and this "big fish" stands outside after the service to say "thank you for coming to church", he shakes everyone that comes to his side apart from during the Ebola season sha. Well, I'm not sold. Jonathan was deemed to be humble before he turned into a beast once he took the seatbof the presidency. Oyedeope is so humble yet he is perhaps the richest pastor on earth and dines with the most corrupt president. Adeboye is so humble that he owns jets and again dines with corruption. Kumuyi is so humble but fraternises with Fayose. All these so called god of men don't fool me. I will only support you based on your antecedents and not by this sop stories of humility. Buhari on the other hand has proved himself and that is the only reason he will get my vote and not because he is a modern day slave master a-la- man of god or should I say god of men. I don't care too much for Osinbajo (while I don't have much against him either) but for Buhari, I will give my undiluted support. |

While I'm wholeheartedly in support of Buhari's candidacy, I will not fail to call a spade a spade.
In as much as I believe that at this time, leading up to the elections in Februrary; all political partis should release all arsenal in their possession to campaign in order to win the elections, what Osinbajo has done here is pure hypocrisy for the reason that he has not engaged with the public in this manner before now. Usually in saner climes, we see politicians riding on public transport or riding bikes on normal days and not only when it's leading up to elelections.
If I were one of the passengers on that bus, I would have asked him when the last time he rode on the bus was.
Nevertheless, I'm in support of ousting the current incompetent government.
Sai Buhari! |

2prexios: Yes you are absolutely right.
Oshin is what happens when you radiate in spite of tanning effect of the sun. On the other hand, Osi is when someone become pale and lack luster after sunburn.
Oshin is to appear beautiful after staying in hot climate, while Osi it to appear poor afterwards.
So the Yoruba will say, o ti si, to mean he has lost the sheen of the skin. I don't think your explanation applies to this name. Ijebu people please teach this person o, I don tire. |
Politics › Re: Please What's The Meaning Of Osibanjo? by Desola(f): 5:45pm On Dec 21, 2014 |
2prexios: May God bless your wit. Oshin is the same as osi, it means one who has become exposed to the sun and become sheen by it. To be darkened by the sun. Meanwhile, an ancient Yoruba empress endowed us the term: you can feel it in Ogun laka aye, Oshin mole. This has once been royal title with Yoruba, before they switch to Oba. Remember the folktale 'Igbin p'abuke Oshin, Oba da igbin l'ola' Oshin and Osi have different pronunciation though. |

Until they've been investigated and confirmed they they don't have ulterior motives , they should be watched and they should remain suspects. Are they not Nigerians like you? If Ibos are allowed to move into lagos unhindered then Hausa and others should be allowed the same feedom of movement without discrimination. sandijey: Well since this boko haram thing started I have been so scared of all this muslim people. Anybody I see with that cap or hijab is a potential suspect. We all need to be vigilant. Even all this aboki wey dey guard gate and sell sweet. Many of them are boko haram who ran from the north. If u stay close to idi-araba u will see buses trooping in everyday from the north. Everybody needs to be vigilant and ask questions.
There is a mosque close to my house. We all noticed how the imam packs so many hausa guys in d mosque. They sleep there. The landlords in d area held a meeting and then went to meet the imam and asked him if he knows this people he is harbouring .imam said no that because they are muslims he accepted them to be staying in d mosque and they are all from the north. He was duly informed that he should take note of them very well. That he might be harbouring a boko haram member and if police should come, he will also be arrested.
I think any area that has high concentration of Muslims especially hausas should be very vigilant and please nobody should insult me of being bias or bigotry. Its d situation we find ourselves and we should all be duly prepared. I saw what happened in idi-araba when yorubas and hausas were fighting. Its not something I wanna discuss here but when it happens, a muslim will give u up..... Never knew that foolishness could be so chronic. Now mix ignorance with it and you get a lethal weapon in the hand of the Stup1d! |

If jonathan's real intention is to break Nigeria them i'm afraid that he will not achieve it until he bombs Lagos.
That is the deal breaker right there and that is the reason he will leave it to last because it will be the decider.
It only takes a bomb on third mainland bridge. Break that link bridge and Nigerians know you mean business or go to MMIA.
I pray he never succeeds but what do we expect when we rest on our laurels thanking God that the bombings were not happening in the south acting as though the Northern lives are worthless. We seemed to have been numb to the fact tgat the more territories these evil urchins take, the more confidence they get to bomb Lagos. |
