blank: Nigerian govt should also, put a bond on all Nigerians that want to travel to UK maybe of 5000GBP. Before a tourist will pay 8000GBP to go to UK, them go think am twice. By the time people are not going to UK to shop, no one will tell them to reverse their stupid policy. Na Nigerians dey give them level.Exactly! Lets call their bluff and stop taking such funds out of our own economy! You'll be surprised at the turnaround Nigeria would experience of all those youths starts small scale businesses with such funds and become their own bosses! T |
ooseven: While most white nations are trying hard to eradicate racism, it is indeed very sad to see fellow Africans trying hard to repress the progress of others.Your opinion is appreciated and well taken on board. NEXT!!! |
coogar: ghana, south africa and india were included......Nope, it shouldn't be applied to the U.S for instance because they have no reason to come and settle there in their numbers. Their economy is relatively better. New Zealand, Canada and Australia should not be checked because they are part of the British Kingdom. All other countries with low migration into the UK need not be affected either. It's people like us who scream poverty, yet have money to apply for visas multiple times despite refusal who should face the brunt. If the UK is so bad, why do we want to go there at all cost if not to take advantage of something? That is the logic. We go to the UK claiming to be visitors yet we have our children there, we go for unplanned and uninsured treatments which tab would have to be picked by the British government. Abeg its a no brainer. Nigeria deserves the treatment it receives anywhere in the world! If we can't put our house in order, we should not complain of unfairness if others would stop us from coming to put their houses in a mess too. Na so. |
coogar: desola, UKBA recoups that money from the visa fees they charge nigerians in lagos. isn't the british high commission in lagos the busiest in the world? the fees are non-refundable. common mistakes like forgetting to sign application forms make the application invalid and the fees are eaten! That is not a reasonable excuse my friend. They make that money because Nigerians are stup1d and not because they con Nigerians out of their funds. |
philips70:...and i'm meant to believe you on a faceless forum because you're Mahatma Gandhi? |
eGuerrilla: But, come on, those days are long gone. It is now virtually impossible to arrive off a 747 to a life on benefits in the UK. While I perfectly understand your point about those predestined to occupy low-income groups, I am not sure the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) - which has Vince Cable in the pocket - would agree they need to be regarded as a menace.Today, I read of a Nigerian woman who has now won her fight to stay in the UK after arriving the UK for medical treatment for her kidney illness. Her claim was that she would not get such treatment in Nigeria and may die. Guess what, she has been receiving treatment since she arrived at the expense of the British tax payer. How about the woman who had triplets or was it sextuplets some few years ago, while on holiday (even though she was 9 months pregnant on her arrival). Rather than pay her hospital bills, she resorted to fighting to stay in the UK to care for her newborns as she said she would be unable to do so in Nigeria. These are but a few instances. I am sure that examples of Nigerians taking ill advantage of the UK's free health services abound. Now, tell me, how do such people contribute positively to the UK? |
Area_boy: You are now trollin and have completely lost what you were arguing about. You think so low of Africans probably due to where you live in the UK. shame. If you believe that I am in the UK, then you'll believe anything. I do not think lowly of Africans, I want Africans to take its seat in the pride of nations and stop wasting good money trying to get into countries they are not really wanted! Take pride in yourselves! |
MAYOWAAK: For any Nigerian desperate to migrate to the UK -and will do so illegally- the £3000 bond is a only a small hurdle.fact! However, remember that it is not show me the money and I let you in. There are still hurdles to scale in requirements and meeting the rules. It isn't going to be easy, I tell ya. The UK is trying to make room for its EU citizens. That is their priority and not the wad of cash from Nigerians. It has gone beyond money now but about loosening the noose placed around its neck by the EU. A voluntary noose, though. |
coogar: but that £18k still gets taxed. they pay council tax directly or indirectly and they don't rely on the benefits to get by.No, I don't think Nigerians are worse than the Eastern Europeans, very far from it. I was trying to highlight Britain's headache. See, to understand what is going on here, we need to understand a bit about the EU treaty signed by the UK. As much as the UK would rather have hardworking tax paying Nigerians in its Economy, it is bound to cater to EU citizens first whether they be miscreants or revenue generating. The point here is that the UK must fulfil its obligations under the EU and in order to do so, it has to check the population of its people by going for the jugular of the third word countries. If it does not cut immigration from the countries outside the EU, by the time Romania becomes part of the EU and the Romanians head for the UK, the UK would become severely overpopulated and its infrastructures would be stretched. I'm sure you would hate to see London turn to another Lagos, wouldn't you? Whichever way we choose to see the UK, it is still an attractive destination for foreigners for its economic viability and generous health services. Until the UK gets rid of social welfare, it would continue to b seen as a soft touch for all migrants. |
ALTRUTH: Nairaland is so funny, see how ppl jst make assumptions nd accept dem. I cant stop laughing here in my office.which yeye office? ![]() Afam, abeg go face market! |
eGuerrilla: Vincy understands what makes the economy tick - Britain's "relocated colony" which exists in the very heart of London.Having an influx of economic migrants who can seldom secure an 18k per annum job isn't exactly wise business move, is it? Moreover, the UK has too look out for its EU citizens first before worrying its head about third world countries. They have their own third world EU citizens in Romania and most East European countries to worry about. Why waste time on those who would put hard labour on their free NHS and social benefits. That's what the polish, romanians and other Eastern Europeans are there for. |
makapella: u baitch....f.uck youDon't be tetchy! All you need do now is just get the 3k or hop on to the US. ![]() |
coogar: what's this doofus on about? why is your reply unrelated to my statement? are you smoking your own pubes?Ah! Coogar, you're still here. Good! |
I've lost track of the sensible ones a la Coogar and eguerilla. The miscreants have now taken over. I suppose it's to the dogs now, eh? Well, I should have known it would come down to this since the chief clown graced this thread from the inception of the thread. |
philips70: [b]Can you prove any of your assertions? I don't believe you. You are Nigerian, aren't you? ![]() |
eGuerrilla: It is the Hausa who say "perhaps" prevents the white man from telling a lie - they understood English chicanery all too well.Ministerial responsibility. Indeed, she may have to ultimately resign if it all goes belly up and affects the economy negatively (a la decline in visa application fees revenue) but it would ultimately reflect badly against Cameron. It's called Ministerial Responsibility. |
TheBookWorm: I do not even know why anyone would want to move to the UK when you have better places in the US where you can feel comfortableConfused much! One corner of your mouth is lamenting the influx of other Nigerians into your Utopia while the other is wondering why the US was not their first choice. Do you wanna take time out to sync your cognitive faculties with your fingers and return to make another attempt at making sense? |
eGuerrilla: Even Cameron is dead set against it.Can a cabinet minister make a policy which is against its party's manifesto? If Cameron hadnt agreed to it, Theresa nor the immigration minister would not have the audacity to implement it. |
eGuerrilla: For refusing to accept its reduced status in the annals of world affairs, UKaria gets everything it deserves, in my opinionSee, it's ingrates like this that we speak of. Same mentality the ibos exhibit against Lagos. |
coogar: MPs won't approve it. vince cable was on TV yesterday and he said the move is racist! the policy to let high risk migrants pay a bond and the notorious ads asking illegal immigrants to leave are all racist moves according to mr. cable. in this age of political correctness, theresa may won't survive the outrage!. Vince Cable of Lib Dem? That party lost the plot a long time ago and is probably rumbling to remain relevant. Truth be told though, that country cannot continue to be run as it is. Immigration needs to be checked at all cost. |
TheBookWorm: And I am glad that the US has such a tight policy. We do not need any troublesome Nigerians sullying our good name here. You're that ibo guys that believe all Nigerians in the UK to be Yorubas and now fear that the stringent requirement by the UK would now mean that you will be seeing a lot of Yoruba "leeches" in your specially carved ibo annex called The U.S, right? Hahaha...clowns abound on this effing forum, I swear! You just gotta love them! |
ALTRUTH: We own some of dem.E.g? |
dridowu: Am 100% sure guys go hussle and pay dat £3k , i doubt if dos dat pay will return bak to 9ja as wen d visa is due. I doubt that it would be as easy as pay a bond and the door would be left ajar for you to enter. The rules and requirement would still need to be met and the guarantor (most likely a UK resident) would be held liable should the visitor abscond I'm sure. |
Afam4eva: Those people tried going to the US or Canada but were not issued a visa, so they copted for the UK. Getting a US visa is not moi moi especially if the applicant cannot present themselves like is coming with peckam brought ups.Lol, says the boy who's never left his uncle's Alaba shop. It's okay, you're in Lagos, the famous Lagos your whole region see as their UK. That is one mean feat you have achieved boy! |
TheBookWorm: I guess more Nigerians will be attempting to come to the United States now, since the Brits have made it harder for them to come to the US.You bet! See your brother, Afam's bucket list above. Nigerians are coming for you, warts and all! |
Afam4eva: So you also have a problem with English. Were you not the one that called yourself backward? Abi do you think every African is like you. Here in Africa, we're progressive people who are simply being Africans. You better move down eher before peckam consumes you. Ajegunle will be a good start. I know a guy who returned from London and started buying tubers of yam from the North and selling in Lagos. Today, he's a millionaire. If he can do it so can you.You amuse me on end. Your senility is second to none! Only in a Nigerian forum can you see a circus clown moderating intellectuals. How is Jonathan for an instance, eh? |
Afam4eva: Sorry to burst you bubble but there are nice places across the Atlantic. I'm thinking of going for the Rio Olympics where i will be serenaded by beatiful Brazillian chikalas in Copa cabana beach. The Waikiki beach in Hawaii is a place i'll like to visit. Guadalajara is on my mind. The Carribean also on my mind. America and Canada on my plans. There are many beautiful countries the world over that i will love to visit except that country where you call home. The united Kingdom is the owner place i won't wish for my worst enemy to visit.I like the way your ill exposed behind try to take on those whom you know are intellectually above you. You are very ambitious. I like that. P.s: which country across the Atlantic have you visited at all? |
Afam4eva: Africans are not backward but i don't know about you. Since you live in peckam, i won't hold my breadth on that one.By that virtue you have inadvertently conceded that Africans are indeed backward. What was your argument again, buba? |
Afam4eva: You must see London as heaven. It's because of people like you that the white man sees Africans as backward people. Why don't you join coogar in his job as the chief nanny of the newly born royal baby. God bless the Desola. Are Africans not backward? |
Afam4eva: If you had not schooled in peckam, you would have understood that there's a difference between a country and a state or region. As long as Nigeria remains one, we muct inter-live, inter-marry and inter do everything together. To think i even thought you were living in Isale-eko. I no know say you dey peckam dey hussle. May God see you true.May you and your generation never cross the Atlantic let alone study in Peckham oooo.... |
