Sagamite: He has my backing too by default but I am definitely not going to big-him-up for some road patchment that looks like a decent 3rd world standard or buying a few 100 buses and call it progress.

My education is solid!

I have come to the conclusion he is visionless if he does not know how to utilise core competences and unique resources to develop a strategy.

What makes Ogun state so competitive to match other places like Kwara, Osun, Anambra, Kogi etc in the Agriculture sector?

The unique resource Ogun State has that can not be imitated and should be exploited is its proximity to the commercial capital.

Amosun should be developing a strategy that makes Ogun state a Lagos State annex. The vision should be: Ogun State is the back and engine room for Lagos. The industrial heartland and ultimate Suburb.

We need to develop about 5 more Ottas in Ogun state where many factories come to reside. Let all the manufacturing come there.

We need to be the place where all the small buinesses and budding entreprenuers that cannot afford the exorbitant Lagos VI/Ikoyi/etc commercial rent find a nice, posh business park to base their head office while being close to the action. Provide them with the technology to work remotely from Lagos conveniently.

We need to develop affluent residential areas where those with money that is (1) not enough to live in affluence in Lagos, (2) Want more space for their money and/or (3) Can't stand the fast pace of Lagos, move to to have a higher quality of life.

We need the place to be where the large scale entertainment sites are located: Amusement parks, theme parks, Nollywood etc. The type of services the up and coming middle-class families in Nigeria would seek at a lower cost as land rent would be cheaper than Lagos and it fits into the consumer purchasing behaviour well.

The strategy would require working extremely closely with Lagos in some cases to build the necessary infrastructure.

We would create more skilled jobs for the locals instead of wasting vast swats of land for agriculture. Agriculture should only be a small sector.
Wow! I see why you suggested yourself as a better alternative. All your postulations couldn't be more valid and right up my street. I have been harping on about the untapped advantages of Lagos and it is very refreshing to see that someone else shares my ideals. I wish I could fault your reasoning but you couldn't be any more right. I concur to your views in its entirety!

Sagamite: Appoint Sagamite to run Sagamu and Ogun State.

But obviously Nigeria is not sane enough to deliver such. So maybe the next best thing is to appoint Sagamite or someone like Sagamite to set the vision and police all arms of government to deliver the vision and align all work to it.

We don't need these visionless people to run a state in Nigeria.

A governor like Amosun whose vision for Ogun state is to be an agricultural state is a joke!
You are not giving him a chance though. What in his past makes you come up with this conclusion? Unlike Jonathan, his past is not so riddled with ineptitude and for that reason, he has my backing for now until he proves otherwise. If you have reasons other than his commendable efforts to gear Ogun towards agriculture, then please put them forward but for now, he gets my backing and I think he should get yours as well. We shouldn't continue to criticise just for the sake of it. Lets make our criticisms constructive and if/when he falls short of expectation, we can castigate him then.

Sagamite: Gbenga Daniel did exactly the same thing this halfwit is doing.

They are both visionless.

By the way, it is blasfemi to be asking the God of Objectivity questions like "your home boy". You have no respect for your Yoruba heritage to insult an Orisha like that. You will need to be taken to a river to give a sacrifice and have your head washed of its sins now. undecided
Nah...I was trying to make reference to the fact that Gbenga is a Sagamite as well (but I think you figured that out as well).

So, if Gbenga was evil and Amosun is a demon, who then in your infinite wisdom do you think would be right for the job? I do see your point about Gbenga though. I was one of the many that hailed him during his first term back then, only for him to turn into the devil's incarnate.

What to do now, eh?

9ja_I_hail: @Bolded Jaru stop your hypocrite my friend. So this thread is no more a place to present reasons for anyone to be disqualified but on this thread you were able to disqualify PointB and went on to justify his disqualification. Man i used to view you as one of the gentle men here but the real you is on display here. Well thanks to PointB for been mature enough to ignore you and your cohort with your charade election.
How come the 's' in Jarus' name is perpetually missing in your posts? Are you trying to be insulting?

Will vote Fashola after Jonathan has gone through with his second tenure. GEJ all the way! The saviour given to Nigeria by God. The man leading us to that promise land flowing with milk and honey; just only If we can cease criticisms and support his policies.
shi.t! This is why I hate democrazy. Stvpid people are always in the majority and they end up imposing their leader on us sane and intelligent minority.

djustice: Are Ogun State people this gullible?

3 bulldozers, a few dozen mini buses, some ten buses, a couple of kms of road construction, some hazardous meat transport tricycles (the meat will be full of contaminants by the time the consumer gets it in those heat boxes), some transformers, a whole town full of demolished structures, and a governor climbing in and out of a pithuh

That is all? This is what ACN calls workhuh?? You people should be ashamed of yourselves. Visit Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and weep. Awon oniyeye!!

FreeGlobe: WTF!!!! Propaganda. Dirty and old Ogun State, one of the ancient states in Nigeria. I understand the type of work the governor there is doing, sending all their thuggish lawmakers to US for jamboree. I see the resident Nairaland hypocrite Gbawe here but I didn't see him in the thread where Fashola and Tinubu were busy sharing all Lagos State properties to themselves. oduduwa clowns and their love for mediocrity. smh
May the mediocrity in those pictures never be recorded in your region. May your region continue growing only at the rate it is currently.

Wow! Inu mi dun gan ni! I am probably one of the happiest people to behold this as I was so fearful that he wasn't really working but of late, I have been reading good things from Amosun. It is like he heard me speak. Well done, baba oni fila gogoro. Owo e a ma roke. Emi to bere ise takun-takun yi lo ma pari e, amin.

If you can look into building lowcost houses and work with Lagos state to reconstruct the roads that lead into both states, I would be the most grateful as that would attract workers from Lagos to take abode in Ogun and commute effectively to Lagos. People ferry along the waterlines would not be a bad idea into Lagos too. Please sir, please tap into Lagos' economy, it's begging for you to.

All the best.
