Seun: Here is a simple question for you. Which solution to the problem of hunger and unclothedness does “James” consider to be more effective? (a) a prayer or prophetic declaration (“receive clothes and receive food in Jesus name!”), or (b) actually giving the needy person food to eat and clothes to wear? when the need is material we are suppose to give according to option (b) above, in herdsmen and other troublers of the nation cases' we need prayer. The bible also tells us that "the effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much". I go with daddy GO here. The weapons of our warfare are not canal but spiritual. Lest we fall short of the law. |

Politics › Re: Fashola Inspects 450 MW Azura Independent Power Plant In Benin (Photos) by Desyner: 8:28am On Feb 04, 2018 |
PapaBrowne: Fashola has nothing to do with AZura please. AZura is a private project started in 2013 and was already more than 60% completed by 2015. If there is any politician that should be given credit for AZura, it is Governor Obaseki and maybe Oshiomhole to some extent.
Let me explain. AZura raised $1billion to build the power plant in 2012. The company that was the lead facilitator for the finance is Afrinvest. Afrinvest belongs to Governor Obaseki. All this happened 4 years before he became governor. Now he is governor, he is building the N200 billion Benin Industrial Park in the same location as AZura and the goal is for AZura to provide the industries at the park with with 24 hr electricity. He is also building Gelegele seaport where the products manufactured at the park would shipped out to the rest of the world.
This is the guy that should get the credit if any politician should. It’s an entirely private project.
It’s like saying The minister of petroleum should take the credit for Dangote’s refinery. @the bold, even the Azura site says it was started in 2016. I checked it after my post. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why I Refused To Speak Out On Killings In Nigeria — Pastor Adeboye by Desyner: 7:12am On Feb 04, 2018 |
Seun: Yes, this is a very wrong and counter-productive statement. Even the writer of the book of James in the Bible didn’t believe that. He wrote: “If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
In other words, prayer without action is totally unhelpful. This means an activist is infinitely better than a prayer warrior. Pastor Adeboye is completely wrong, according to the book of James. You are quoting that scripure out of context. The "works" being talked about here are the actions that we take as a result of faith that's true. You quoted James 2:15-17 but further reading to verse 23 reveals that the works being talked about is that taken to validate our faith and not the "work done for God to bless". |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why I Refused To Speak Out On Killings In Nigeria — Pastor Adeboye by Desyner: 6:59am On Feb 04, 2018 |
frosbel2: Since Adeboye hears from God directly, and it must be obvious that he prays without season together with his so called prayer warriors, and yet the Fulani herdsmen go on killing with no sign of abating, this is sure sign that Pastor Adeboyes prayers are NOT EFFECTIVE.
Furthermore, Adeboye has the clout to influence politicians, yet he keeps mute about this grave matter and advises people to pray instead of defending themselves.
This goes to show that he is Fake, another Fake so called man of God. Stop trying to equate Babalawos to Pastors. Even he prays, the people being prayed for have a responsibility to pray themselves. |

Dhazkid: “Similarly, the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) has so far recorded over 280,000 beneficiaries in 21 states, while about 300,000 Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP) micro-credit, interest-free loans have been disbursed nationwide. “In the same vein, in 2017, the N-power scheme, which is targeted at providing jobs for unemployed young graduates, started its physical verification process for the 2017 applicants. In 2018, more beneficiaries are expected to be added to about 200,000 young graduates currently employed under the scheme.”
he said Noting that a total of N900 billion was appropriated for the SIPs in 2016 and 2017; he said that N500 billion was appropriated in 2016 and N400 billion appropriated in 2017. He however, said that the total amount released was N110 billion for 2016 and 2017, while the total expenditure was N109 billion. |
Politics › Re: Upils Get 246 Million Buhari’s Meals, Says Presidency by Desyner: 4:28pm On Feb 03, 2018 |
He added “Below is a breakdown of the N109 billion released between October 2016 and November 2017 for the SIPs, namely: GEEP, CCT, NHGSFP, N-power, and general expenditure. “The GEEP expenditure was N11,700,200,466, while the CCT gulped N5,235,401,087. “In the same vein, between October 2016 and November 2017, N22,370,719,017 was expended for the Home-grown School Feeding Programme (HGSFP); while N69,731,256,122 was expended on N-power, which is the Job Creation component of the SIP, during the same period.” he said
So all these were achieved with N109B and Jonathan shared $2B (N700B) to win election. I hope PDP is watching and see why Buhari and the Fulani gang may get away with all their atrocities. |

So we are still sharing billions in Nigeria when we lack refineries. Anything that favours the southern part is relegated to the background IFO the ones that favours poor people. This is how Aregbe started paying 13th month salary and doing free food when the earning was high, today he can't pay same workers regularly talkless of 13th month salary. |
