GraciousWords: This post below may help. You don't need to worry about it if you are applying and decide to leave your passport with TLS/VAC rather than keeping your passport with you after biometrics. The process seems to be quicker when you don't keep your passport but submit it along with your application and biometrics.
https://www.nairaland.com/6969367/general-uk-visa-enquiries-part/40#111418998 Thanks. And I've already paid for that "Keep your passport" service. I hope they change their minds when I plead with them. |

GraciousWords: Update on keep my passport application:
Thank God with me. Collection mail received 28 Mar. Biometrics 11 Jan.
UKVI this morning - "decision has been made" and escalation shows decision mail was sent....but to address updated by TLS ....which contains a one letter error (according to UKVI). UKVI promisedto resend decision mail, which thankfully they did a few hours later.
Admin Error at both TLS and UKVI in my opinion since the escalations, paid mails and original application all have the correct email address. All is well, that ends well.
Unless absolutely necessary, avoid "keep my passport"! Congrats, but I don't understand the write-up |

Hello, everyone. I booked an appointment at TLS for the 31st. Now I can't make it due to personal reasons. If I make amendments, will there be any effects. I also requested for a refund for one the services I paid for in error. Would that be affected? |

Has anyone who applied for a refund been refunded? Did it take the 4 weeks as stated, or more or less? |

giselle237: Hi Keep passport option = you holding onto your passport during the time it will take UKVI to decide on your application. Per the outcome of their decision, you will then be contacted by TLS. You would be asked to submit the passport . TLS then sends to UKVI for the visa and when done will contact you again for pickup. In essence, when one pays for keep passprt, you hold onto passport and wait till whenever TLS will contact yu… You will then need to take the passport back to TLS. To be frank, since it was introduced it has been a headache… most ppl have been here complaining on how TLS wastes so much time to contact them to bring the passprt. This is minus the time one has wasted in waiting for UKVI to make decision. As per refund- you can send a message now to them through their link and see if u will be replied in time and/or fight for refund when your mom goes for biometrics Thank you very much for your reply. I think I will apply for a refund. However, what is the regular waiting time now. I read that it could take up to six weeks. Is that correct? Also, has anyone actually been refunded before? |

Oggg: keep passport is to keep passport with yourself not with TLS. This is about 27k. Self service means uploading the documnts urslf while assisted service means TLS will do the uploadimg for u. Self service is free. Assisted service is about 12k naira. U dnt need tb test for visit visa. So what did u pay for? I paid for assisted service, courier return and also for them to hold my mum’s passport. But I want to understand if paying N27k for them to hold the passport is worth it. Would it be faster or slower? If it is not so much of a good idea, can I get a refund on that particular service? |

Ray7878: So once you have paid the visa fees and IHS fees you would be redirected to the TLS Website. That’s where you choose which service that you want. You can choose a self service, assisted service etc.
Self service (You get to upload everything by yourself, stuffs like Bank statements, payslips, sponsors letters, accommodations etc or whatever is on your checklist)..
Assisted service (You would print off all your documents in A4 size and take it there for them to check over for you).
See the screenshot below. Thanks for your reply. I didn't see self-service, so I booked a slot at TLS. I paid for them to keep my passport until the notification from the UKVI. Is that alright or not? Plus, do I need to do a tuberculosis test, as I'm applying for a visit visa? |

Ray7878: So they have made a decision right? I have said it many times I learn a lot reading on here. Those that keep their passport wait longer, because TLS would not email to contact them to bring their passports once UKVI had made a decision.
Those that didn’t keep their passports can at least turn up at TLS after 15WD of being told by UKVI that a decision had already been made, but those who held on to their passports can only hope/pray and wait for the TLS email. Because what can they do if they go to TLS? By keeping passport, do you mean holding on to it, or leaving it with TLS? |

Ray7878: Once you have uploaded all your stuff, the only things you need would be your passport, photocopy of your passport and your checklist. How do I upload myself? I'm helping my mum with her visit visa process, and we are at the point of booking an appointment with TLS |

davidsmithdwhit: Hello..does having a Hungarian visa with one entry allow me visit Germany and other schegen states too? The visa is a 3month official trip.
And if it's possible to enter other Schengen states, is it as well possible to settle in the state of entry? And maybe extend the visa period while living and working there too? You can travel to other Schengen countries, but then, what visa you have determines what you can do, to an extent |

Amy456: you cannot get an admission for bsc with only neco/waec. Check The embassy website/Anabin You can, but it will be conditional admission, where the university presents you some others things to do before they give you a spot at the university proper. So you can apply |

Seriki222: Good morning, please, 1. when is the appropriate time to apply for german health insurance: after visa interview or after visa approval email? 2. How long does it take to receive visa approval email after interview? 3. What is the type of health insurance required by an international student to travel to Germany? 4. How long does it take to receive health insurance papers from the date application is submitted? Thank you. 1. After your interview, as they may tell you to send it when you're given the approval mail. 2. Normally anywhere from 4-6 weeks. Could be more, could be less. 3&4. Your blocked account provider can help with this. |

Ancrath: My advice would be to send an email to the embassy and attach your admission letter. If you have a letter of presence from your institution, you can attach it as well.
I did that and received appointment date in less than a week. That could work as well, but it was said on their website that they're booked out for summer. But go ahead and take that step of faith |

Please am I to print out my admission letter or request the school to send it via post?
How much in naira is 75Euros Yes, the waiting time is one year, but some people get it in less than that time The university will send you the letter via email Not sure, should about N35k |
