Thank you for reaching out. Let me provide responses below.

1. Are this role contract or permanent staff roles? Note: the recruitment process didn’t involve any outsourcing team, it was directly between the bank P&C and the candidates
The roles are Full time roles and not contract. You are employed directly by the Bank and you enjoy all the full benefits the bank provides.

2. What position do these above roles occupies in hierarchical working order of Stanbic bank? ( Since those that went to training school are given the rank of (ABO)

I think I explained this earlier. The head of the branch is the BSM (Branch Service Manager). Next in command is TLCS (Team Lead Customer Service). Not all branches have TLCS. Infact, many branches don't have it. After this is Asset Custodian. Next is ATM Custodian then CSO (Client Service Officer). In branches where there is no TLCS, if the BSM is on leave, they may grant the Asset partial rights to stand in. If Asset goes on leave, ATM custodian steps in.

At the end of the day, many of these roles are just mere titles. What matters is your grade in the bank. BTA 1, 2, ABO, BO, SBO, AM, MM, DM, etc. An Asset custodian may be an ABO. TLCS are mostly SBOs Some BSMs are SBOs and AMs

I dont know if i have been able to answer your question. If i haven't, please re-word the question so i can answer to the best of my ability.

3. Are they also considered the same as Support staff as seen in Access Bank? Not professional banker like those that went to training school?
Note: Support staffs in access bank don’t get converted, and only those who got into the bank as interns gets the chance to be converted after passing exams, interviews and training school hurdles etc

They are full time staff or professional staff if i am to borrow your language. Like i said, they are entitled to full benefits of the bank.

4. When converted to full staff from the above roles, does it mean that, the successful candidates will also be trained in the bank training school just like the Graduate trainees that resumes as ABO?

I do not understand the question. They are already full time staff. They are not converting into anything. They don't go to training school like Graduate trainees. They learn on the Job. The bank also schedules other many professional and career trainings for them in the course of their employment. I hope this clarifies? If it doesn't, please let me know.

5. If Question 4 is Yes, will the converted staff be able to make it to the apex of banking careers, like becoming General Manager/ Regional managers and probably CEOs or they have a different career path in the bank that’s different from those that enters the bank as ABO?

I know the Head of one of a major dept in the bank personally (i don't want to mention his name here). He started out as a cleaner in the bank. Go and read the story of Sim Tshabalala who is the joint Chief Executive of the Standard Bank Group and Chief Executive of Standard Bank South Africa (Stanbic IBTC is a member of the standard bank group).

So, regardless of how you joined the bank, you can become the CE.

6. what range of salary should a CSO/ATM/Asset custodian candidates without any banking experience be expecting when fully employed. I hope this isn’t a personal question?

The salary range as i know it used to be 180k for BTA 1grade who are newbies who joined the bank without experience (Not graduate trainees o)

BTA 2 is 254k if you are BT 2 and you get promoted to ABO, your salary climbs to about 400. Meanwhile, Graduate trainees who become ABO get 350k.

please note that these salaries i mentioned are NET pay. That is your take home pay. The money that enters your account after all statutory deductions.

You just replace the experiences with just 1year experience
Created them with my Microsoft word

Then go to google search for each jobs in Lagos
Like Administrative Assistant jobs in Lagos
It will show you jobs and google jobs
Go to alerts then set it on
So anytime any admin job in Lagos is posted google will send an alert to your Email and you apply
Do the same for the other jobs you want too

I started job hunting in april
And I have gotten like 10jobs
Chose one of 80k
Dumped it for 120
Now I am on 185k per month
Might stay with this for a year before I move on

Banks are only concerned with your age and class of degree. If you bring a poly degree, contract staff. Uni degree, full staff. Mostly 2.1 and above (some do 2.2), maximum of 26yrs. Go through their recruitment processes successfully and they’ll most likely employ you. Most banks do not outsource recruitment of their core staff. They spend money to train you, feed you and even pay you stipends during the training. Why should they outsource that?

Go to their career page and apply when you are done with your NYSC. The process is same across banks.

I see entry level position opening and i wanna apply but i wonder if banks hire a person with no background in banking for an entry level position... I`m still within the graduate trainee age bracket tho and also done with nysc, applied for many of their GT but have never been invited for any their tests

For a GT role, i am afraid this is not possible.
For experienced hire, there is a possibility.
Please check Stanbic career portal. there are a couple of roles there (CSO's, ATM Custodian) that require 0-2 years experience.
You could give it a shot.

GTB - More than 200K

Wema Bank - More than 180K

First Bank - More than 180K

Access Bank - 250K excluding a car loan (the car loan seems mandatory these days).

StanbicIBTC - More than 250K

Ecobank - More than 220K for management trainee and > 150K for graduate trainee

Zenith Bank - Less than 150K but more than 100K (if only you have professional certification. If not, you're a contract staff even if you pass through training school).

UBA - 80K for a year. After confirmation, it increases to 150K thereabouts.

Sterling - More than 180K

Union Bank - More than 200K

Those are all I can remember.

P.S. These salaries are after training school and are gross not net earnings. Also, graduate trainees not contract staff.

Know your Workforce, Dragnet and GMAT and getting a bank job won't be difficult.



Hopefully, you get what you desire. But regarding the bold, it's not by course, engineers these days are more at an advantage due to their adroitness on the numerical aspect for passing aptitude tests. Anyone regardless of his/her course of study can get a job in the bank provided basic requirements are fulfilled. Moreover, anyone can become an accountant without studying accounting or related disciplines.

i would likem to ask if banks still pay Graduate Trainees up to this kinda amount even in 2022...cause i`ve been trying to pursue a career in it

A lot has really happened to me on this unemployment wahala since i finished service last year. I initially got a job as a credit officer in a microfinance bank, omooo i won diee for that work cos i didn't know it entails me walking around the whole state just to get customers to take loan and if i didn't meet stipulated target, my salary might get delayed. 2 month into the job, i had already had to resign cos of the hazard the job posed, imagine a young guy like me harassing a 70yr old men & women cos of default, it even got to the point I had accident but God saved me shaa, naso i leave the work ooo. 5 months later after sapa nearly killed me, i got another job in a Medical Lab working as a laboratory officer, i worked there for 6 months and i had to resign this month cos the pay was small and my employer wasn't ready to increase it, imagine graduate collecting 20K monthly ooo , i enjoyed the job just that the money can't solve anything at all, i had to accept the job cos i didn't wanted to sit at home doing nothing but the pay was too small...Now I'm currently searching for job, i have a BSc in Microbiology and i don't mind working anywhere as far as the pay is okay...my Phone number is 07043010958.
