Sometimes when these things happen, we feel life is wicked not knowing that God has a far greater blessing waiting at the corner.. |
Because you can still administer the best healthcare in the world and still lose the person. Man still needs to do his best part, and leave the rest to God in prayers. In the realm of men, you need to plant a seed, water it, nurture it, expose it to sunlight, etc. for it to sprout, whether you're spiritual or not. Praying is then trusting God to give the right weather, to give you time to tend to the plant (something might just happen to disrupt your schedule), to not allow your neighbour mistakenly step on the plant and kill it, to not make you contract COVID-19 while on your way to see a friend and be hospitalized and not be around to nurture the plant again, etc. all of which are NOT in your control. So true Christianity is doing the right things possible to man, but trusting the divine God to decide the outcome! Nwaokunkpara: |
I'd rather ask for grace to fight lust everyday than condition my mind that I'm a slave to it. I'll recommend you go read Joyce Meyer's Battlefield of the mind. purples25: |
Lol.. even their sycophants on this forum are secretly lamenting and gnashing their teeth that they didn't get the money ![]() I have a simple question. Why can't government claims be audited? If it says thing cost us this amount, why can't they be transparent with documentary evidence for the public to fact check? In this case now, they said 25 million Nigerians when it may have just been 2,500 APC card-carrying loyalists. |
Anyiamaka:They are simply ashamed to admit their ineptness.. and don't care if they dabaru everything patatpata while living in self denial. In Nigeria, public office holders don't admit they don't know and resign.. they just remain there dishing out all manner of policies (even the ones prostitutes whisper in their ears while on their escapades) all in the name of "...na our turn, na we dey there. If e spoil, another person go fix am.." Backwardness! |
Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The true test of your humility is a "position of power." In Africa, we understand RULERSHIP, not servitude! Look around, schools, offices, government houses, religious houses, you see people jostle for position of power because they literally want to snap their fingers and have people grovel at their feet. Not because they are thinking about the good of ALL. Unfortunately, it's also embedded in our culture; they tell you to respect those in power but don't question their authority, or rather, their ineptness. Well, some of us know better and have been emancipated from this mental slavery! |
budaatum:And the effrontery to say, "I will donate..." We elect people into office in Nigeria and Africa, feed and enrich them with taxpayers' money and furnish their luxurious lifestyles while the citizens wallow in extreme poverty.. this is our definition of leadership! |
Dangote became rich from cement. What exactly is the business Tinubu has always claimed made him rich? |
France just gave this guy a reason to strike sooner or later... You can take this to the bank! |
God has been telling me to forgive, but it's something I've been struggling with. It led to a high BP and I almost died of a heart attack recently, but I asked Him to preserve and forgive me and help me to live a life of forgiveness.. He showed me mercy! |

🤣🤣🤣😂but it looks certainly like a skit to me |
"Alake revealed that the Presidency made the rice available to him for distribution, which will be focused exclusively on supporting the aged in his state." So the elderly in states without ministerial representation under this administration should ...? Nigeria and politics of cohorts, tribalism and na our turn.. How will a nation move forward with this kind of backward thinking? They don't empower people to birth their potential. Their leadership style is to impoverish the citizens, turn them to beggars and when they eventually give crumbs, those people should sing their praises to high heavens. Egyptian taskmaster mentality! Did you realize that Moses was raised and trained in the palace of Pharaoh? I pray that God will send us a deliverer in this nation from the inside, since they continue to oppress all those on the outside.

... most disheartening for me is how people will still come here and say "let's encourage them, they're trying".. bla, bla, bla. " What about those before him who didn't give anything??" Illiteracy, lack of exposure, and mediocrity are killer diseases! When elected then, I read a lot of comments here about how he's such a bubbly person who will bring joy to the sad citizens of Osun state because of his dance moves😂😅🤣🤣... I cannot just digest this level of reasoning |
This same guy that promised us passport by post🤣. I was at the immigration office last month to renew my daughter's p..my people, nothing has changed. Within few minutes of sitting in the waiting area, the touts in uniform were already making all manner of funny moves. And their minister has now come up with another one😂😂🤣 Why are Nigerians like this? You promised to do something in 3 months, you failed and several months down the line, no excuse, no apology, no respect for the people. You just dumped another thing on us as per say you're not accountable to anybody! Na you be Oga... The disregard these people have for their citizens no be here |

When God's got your back! |
But no policy stopping government officials from going abroad for medical treatment? Why are our rulers ike this? |
The commercial buses in Lagos (nicknamed Danfo) are not road worthy.. most of the drivers take all manner of unholy drinks before they hit the roads. They are completely unprofessional, don't know most traffic rules/never obey them and put "money must be made" before the safety of passengers. If this is the reality in Lagos, I don't know how other states are. So my question is, how can this kind of people ensure safety of passengers on our roads with this CNG initiative? Secondly, does the government truly care about her citizens safety on the roads? My reasons are not far fetched - in Lagos, vehicle inspectors don't stop Danfo buses but harass the living day out of private car owners. How are the drivers/owners of these rickety vehicles untouchable by government/law enforcement? Another question is, why is it that those in leadership, up to our local government councils, don't take commercial buses in Lagos? I'm not even sure they take BRT buses that they always roll out with such pomp and pageantry. Why?? Can someone on Nairaland help me to understand abeg. Is it different in other states? Is this a general leadership style in the country? |
The beef started at the last world cup finals between the two countries...and it will forever be used for banter. This one na normal gyration things...you sing songs every time about your journey and history. Kriss216: |
I hope it won't have another anticlimactic ending, as typical of all Nollywood movies I've seen? |
This should be on marble, so that we can reference accordingly when the hunter becomes the hunted. Most people are supporting this government because of tribe yet are suffering in silence. Posterity will one day knock on the doors of your home to deliver the parcel of karma! Note, I am Yorùbá yet #realistic and #NOTtribalistic A major problem of this country is self-serving and corrupt leadership elected into power by their gullible and impoverished followers! Ukeme8: |

Until we as Nigerians will begin to use our brains and see that the war is between them and us - politicians and the masses; selfish leaders and impoverished followers; self-serving politicians and technocrats! Shouldn't Labour be focused on asking our leaders to reduce their cost of governance? A sitting Senator takes home #30million+ home monthly in allowances. Mr. Labour, what is the minimum wage of an average Senator? When you find out, let me know if that sits well with you. Otherwise, you're just a puppet of the same government trying to amuse the mass audience |
In my humble opinion, I would have wanted Labour to insist on government cutting their cost of governance instead of this minimum wage thing. Even if the minimum wage becomes 500k+, which will be detrimental to the economy, it's just ludicrous that a senator earns N30million+ monthly in allowances. How on earth did we get here?? Can we ask that the minimum wage for Senators be N350k in total emoluments monthly plus other national benefits like free healthcare for their families in any hospital in the country, free accommodation in their local government, pensions, free bus rides in public transports ONLY, etc? Let's make governance unattractive to politicians, but enticing to technocrats who want to serve!! |
What about the BRT buses and trains I mentioned? My point is simply how government officials inaugurate projects, in this case the transport sector, and they themselves don't use them because they feel a class above the people they rule. It's in every sector. And this has nothing to do with APC, PDP or LP cause you resorted to an insult instead of rational thinking... I won't be doing myself any good trading words with your ilk who would rather insult people than engage in critical thinking. You're an obvious bye product of our failed leadership as a country so I'll rather sympathize with you SonofLagos: |
Yet, no government official will take these rides.. just like BRT buses and trains. They do a show to launch but can't bring themselves down to journey with the same masses who brought them into power |
I'm not just some religious bigot here. Please learn..my points are - God, who's omnipresent (meaning He dwells in a timeless realm) knew Lookman would score 3 goals and win MOTM. I didn't say God made him the hero of the day because he serves God. As far as you and I know, the lad might even be atheist! - All the 22+ players on the day couldn't have scored because of course this is football, there can only be one match winner!! So when the players were coming out of the dugout, who on earth could have predicted accurately that Lookman would score a hat trick and win it for Atalanta? No man, but God! - That Lookman was the hero on the day didn't mean God hates others. There are times and seasons for every man..in different ways and facets of life. Most of the players might never achieve this same feat but would go on to have successes in other areas where Lookman might not even come close, family, health, wealth, etc. - That an event has happened on earth didn't mean God approved of it, even if He permitted it to happen. So my point here is from the latter - permission. It's not about God approving of Lookman because he was the only one who prayed and fasted before the match, lol...like I said in my first point, Lookman might not even give two whoops in hades about God. However, He, God, knew about what was going to happen to Lookman that night, when no one else did and He PERMITTED it! - And lastly, the reason I can say it in a positive tone in relation to God is because it's a good thing to achieve and not a negative thing [like being successful at a $billion robbery operation] - both are "success" stories in different lights So bro, abeg remove my profile from that religious group you had in mind!! assholemods: |
I had this same feeling watching the match again..seeing the two teams file out, I said Ademola doesn't know he's got a date with destiny..at the most,he just wanted a win but God had bigger plans! ElevationD: |
