Hi guys! I live around Yaba and close to Ladipo. I need to change the wheels of a 2005 Toyota Corolla to alloy. Anyone with contacts of a reputable dealer? Budget is N30k. Thanks. |
I know the crisis between the two factions have lingered for so long but do you break your head because of a headache? A whole 2 years? No consideration whatsoever for stakeholders (local players) at the lower rung of the ladder. What plans are in place to chart a better basketball after the 2 years? Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely!! This is just abuse of power, simple. "I'm the head, whatever I say is final" mentality of all our old leaders! |
I have noticed that one of the reasons most Nigerians are not critical thinkers is because of heuristics. In this case they're judging the interviewer because of the interviewee's side of the story. - What if it wasn't the emoji in itself, what if it was the "reaction" to the discourse about remuneration (money)? - What if the interviewer had made up his/her mind at some point during the interview that the interviewee wasn't good enough for the job but only wanted to "formally" end the chat with the usual salary question? - What if the interviewer's a midget and felt insulted by the character representation in the emoji, not necessarily because the interviewee shared a 'happy emoji'? - What if this never happened in the first place? - What if I am the interviewer in this story? - What if the complainant didn't mention the key areas of the conversation where he goofed but chose to make y'all focus on a bad employer who hates emojis?? What if?? |

This story sounds like a Nollywood movie where your step mother, though unassuming, will confess one day as being behind all the issues in your family. |
One of the demands they put on the table when they met Tinubu. The man's modus operandi - buy some few influential people (cohorts) to his side, use them to manipulate and influence thousands of others, while further using his position and connection to impoverish and milk millions. Our politicians are not after the welfare of the nation but themselves and anyone they can use to keep absolute power to themselves. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely! |
Will N50 million or N50 billion buy back the lives snatched away? They keep stealing our money and feign philanthropy. They are bereft of ideas, systems and structure to move us forward...this stolen money is all they have and why they want to continue to keep power to themselves. Buhari always expresses shock, if this one becomes president, his own will be to be donating money up and down after lives are not as a result of their ineptness to fix things.. they only occupy space! Mr Tinubu, as one campaigning for presidency flying agbada from west to north, south to east, what SOLUTION can you proffer to solve this scourge of terrorism in our land? Nigerians, think! Think! Especially the gullible ones on this forum who turn everything to tribal war (I'm Yoruba if anyone cares to know)...the political class is our problem in this country...they're not after selfless service, fixing the nation, or building structures for tomorrow. They're after power and amassing more of our wealth. They are less than 20,000 but tossing the lives of our 200 million people to and fro. Nigerians, think!!! The trends are there for all to see but many of us keep thinking with our stomachs and only sleep with our brains! |
These terrorists will continue to be a step ahead of our old men with aging brains - They'll keep kidnapping and holding their victims hostage, that way, government can't just do some carpet bombing of their location. - That forest is their enclave and nobody from the outside can easily defeat them in gorilla or ground warfare. So only soldiers on a suicide mission will choose this option. - Even if the government doesn't want to negotiate or pay ransom (either because it's not their family members being held, or because they don't want to openly be seen as weak/negotiating with terrorists), ransom payments will continue for those who see it as the only way to get out their families alive. - Some of these leaders in government are apologists, tribalists, and others in the name of 'political opposition' are most likely linked directly or indirectly with these bandits. This cell is already cancerous!! |
Thank God some of us have lived in these developed countries. That those societies have these infrastructure doesn't mean that when they are "copied and pasted" here, the motives are the same! If LCC built 3rd Mailand bridge, they probably would have installed toll points at each end. zainabicy: |
Shameful as usual! And such effrontery! How do you roll out the basic responsibilities of a State government and put now as the JD of a private/ pseudo-government company just to justify money collection? All of a sudden, LCC has become the state government and those Lekki tollgates are tax collection centres. Sadly, a largely uninformed society with charlatan politicians! |
I have been on Nairaland for over a decade, but today is the first time I'm reading from a man who wears my kind of hat! I don't you in person, but you're truly wise and exposed! joey150: |
This is like painting a car with the finest of paints so the aesthetics look good, but the engine is dead! That engine are the workers at that airport!!! |
Our problem in Nigeria is the political class (APC, PDP and co.)!! They have no plans for the progress of the nation but their pockets, families and cohorts. Unfortunately, the gullible who sing their praises are a majority. Second is illiteracy and exposure, which fuels tribalism. People still think it's about one tribe vs the other, and are selling their children children's future to be mortgaged by their own kindred. Lastly is poverty, which makes us drink religion like water and sell our dignity for morsels of bread. To save this country would need a miracle in the same class as Jesus walking on the sea! |
chatinent:Well, I am not arguing about your Nigeria's half-baked journalists submission, but let me give at least 2 reasons why such a seemingly "foolish" question was valid in this case - 1. If the accused had answered in detail with vivid description, his EMOTIONS at that moment would have confirmed if he was remorseful or not. How would a man with conscience describe such a moment without breaking?? Ignoring the question (which he did) or answering it with a simple 'yes' would be a sign of aloofness. 2. If he chose to answer in detail, we would have been to deduce if there was anything amiss. Guess what? The poison story might be untrue. It actually might be his strategy to make himself look 'less' heartless. So in reporting (journalism) or criminal investigations (policing), there's always the need to apply PSYCHOLOGY, which would often prompt these kinds of 'foolish' questioning. |
InternalAuditor:You're obviously an illiterate and I'm not going to trade words with you - I say this with all humility! I have lived in 7 different countries outside of Nigeria so I'm not one of your tribalistic bigots. How can you think my comment was based on your state or where I live? Jeez!!! |
wallstreetnews:In 2021 "picking luggages from a carousel" is what you're celebrating?? A conveyor belt?? This is what people who lived in the Triassic or the Jurassic era should be celebrating. It's such a shame that this is what our leaders have turned us to |

It's bad parenting 100%. That's the foundation! Guess what? The school is just a building made of people, of which are parents! The structures you put in place in schools to discourage all manner of vices are supposed to be put up by parents, or at least those who understand parenting i.e. caring for children. So everything will always still fall back to parenting! My kids attend a private school in Lagos and they come home to tell me how ill-mannered some children of the expatriates behave (probably mirroring how their parents treat their Nigerian house-helps). It's the failure of parents to start of their kids right, then assuming that a school system will fix them. They'd rather influence other kids negatively in the school Japan has probably the best educational system in the world because they teach values, manners, respect, honour, etc. at home to their growing kids before ever sending them off to school! |
Policing is not by just quantity, it's quality. Our leaders in all government agencies are 35 years behind their counterparts in developed societies. They put the lives of innocent Nigerians in the front line in the name of giving them jobs, and mentally vitiate them till they become crooks with guns! Nigeria police is brute force and harassments with AK47s; modern day policing is about good pay, psychology, intel, street-smart, technology and sophisticated weaponry. Nigeria, I pray for your deliverance! |

Trading words with your person is what will bring me to that low level. Please permit me to ignore you from this point. Thank you! Jerryherd: |
How does wearing trousers as a woman make you a sinner? Christians in the house please enlighten me |
Lol! One of the best Centres during his time but It doesn't always work like that. Basketball is a technical sport, just being tall doesn't mean it's easy peasy Sundaypaul12345: |
See the mentality of people! Someone who uses political office/power to establish loyal subjects at the detriment of a population that runs into millions! Political office is about fairness and service to the population, not building an army of select-few loyalists. Using your position to set up systems, policies and structures that will benefit the populace and create equal opportunity for all to rise, NOT just buying people over, building your cohorts with the aim of keeping power to yourself. Worse are people who run after these politicians and say "...bless me, I don't care how others feel or if you don't do the right thing...just bless me baba" Jerryherd: |
Woe is he that puts his trust in the arm of flesh...see worshippers of men...all because of position and power! Fear not the one who can kill the flesh, but the Almighty who can not only kill the flesh, but also cast the soul in hell! People of Nigeria, our politicians are self-centered opportunists who are after what benefits them...their cohorts and bootlickers! They don't give a hoot about the people they were elected to serve...Nigeria, which way? |
Na who create Sir Sebright? decrownprince: |
Unfortunately, you want to address the outcome, not the cause...and that's the same route most people here will advise you to ply. The onus is on you, if you really care for this brother of yours, to trace the root cause - not because you're looking for who to blame, but because your solution will come from there, not Nairaland! |
Just look at them. Heartless human beings who feel that political office is about becoming gods and enriching their families and cohorts. When will true technocrats who value integrity, their names, selfless service and the fear of God take over this nation? |
A potential terrorist that could be camouflaging to win the hearts and trust of people before he strikes big time. Isn't this a common script? |
I can bet these people must think no Nigerian has seen the movie "Argo" |
You're twisting and turning brov...my point is, he doesn't play for the American basketball team so what's "congratulations to USA"?! shogsman: |
