SportsBafana Stun The Super Eagles In Their Own Backyard by Deyvid123(op):
Bafana Bafana secured their maiden victory against the Super Eagles in a competitive match on Saturday night
Two second half goals courtesy of Tokelo Rantie and Percy Tau, saw the South Africans claim a famous 2-0 away victory over Nigeria .
Bafana Bafana had hoped to give their new coach something to smile about as they took on Nigeria in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday evening.
The clash signalled Stuart Baxter’s first game back in charge of the South African national team following the sacking of Shakes Mashaba in December, and the 63-year-old opted for the tried and tested ahead of the clash.
The Briton relied on Rantie to lead the line alongside Sibusiso Vilakazi, with Eric Mathoho chosen to partner Thulani Hlatshwayo at the back.
Meanwhile, Bafana were forced to fend off a Nigerian side who were on the rise under their German tactician, Gernot Rohr.
The Super Eagles looked a side full of potential, and Rohr fielded his strongest XI with an attack which included Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho.
In the build-up to the clash, much was said about Bafana’s lack of preparation and it was apparent as Nigeria began the game brightly, giving their defence a lot to think about.
However, Baxter’s men looked content to soak up the pressure and utilise the counter attack.
Nonetheless, Nigeria had their first shot on goal in the 11th minute. Nigeria’s highl-yrated midfielder Wilfred Ndidi showed great enthusiasm to latch onto a loose ball on the edge of the South African box, but his volley went wide of Itumeleng Khune’s goal.
The South Africans were struggling to contain the pacey Nigerian attack and 22 minutes into the match, the home side had a glorious opportunity to open the scoring.
Oghenekaro Etebo’s made a late surge into the box, which went by undetected by the South African defence, but he failed to test Khune with a shot from close range.
The half time break was quickly approaching and the game was becoming a scrappy affair with both teams guilty of turning over possession far too easily.
Khune would once again have to be alert as he smartly tipped over a Moses Simon attempted cross.
With 41 minutes on the clock, Bafana were almost gifted a goal after South Africa-based Nigerian keeper, Daniel Akpeyi, dropped a Tebogo Langerman cross into the path of Themba Zwane, but the 27-year-old could only watch on as his shot cannoned off the woodwork.
The resumption of the second half in Uyo saw the crowd stunned into absolute silence as Rantie broke the deadlock in the 54th minute. The attacker latched onto a sublime cross from Ramahlwe Mphahlele and squeezed his header past Akpeyi.
The goal seemed to spur South Africa on in response Nigeria threw on Ahmed Musa as they looked to inject some much-needed pace into the attack.
Although, South Africa were not looking the most enterprising of the two sides going forward, they were compact and defensively sound which only contributed to the frustration of the healthy crowd in attendance.
With 20 minutes remaining, South Africa had a brilliant opportunity to kill off the game through Zwane, but once again, the upright came to Nigeria’s rescue.
The Nigerians were growing increasingly frustrated which led to them taking several long-range shots which did little to trouble Khune. Time was running out and Nigeria caused the South African defence a few nervy moments but they stood firm and repelled the danger.
With 10 minutes to go, Baxter threw on Tau and the youngster repaid the coach’s faith in him as he profited from a beautiful through pass by Keagan Dolly, and finished off with aplomb.
Lebogang Manyama had a chance to compound further misery on their opponents, but the Cape Town City forward squandered his effort.

I only want to know how you came to the conclusion that Igbos in diaspora are against biafra. We are all here to learn.

Emeka recently bought two plots of land around Badagry and

Musa(not real name) is in Kaduna, tired of a constant nagging
national anthem from Emeka,
Musa assumes a potentially
dangerous identity and declares a
90 days ultimatum telling the
Emeka's that all of them can leave his domain and disappear to their
Biafra. Failure to do so, they
would be forcefully evicted.

Dapo(maybe it is me, maybe it is not) is falling for a pretty
intelligent damsel whom he is yet
to tell how he feels about her. He
is worried that he as a Nigerian

nice write up, kudos to you but the problem with our unity is that it feels forced, people are no longer patriotic. Nigeria has outgrown this current political template so, therein lies the need to come together and decide if we want to continue or go our separate ways.
A lot is wrong in our country and it isn't just bad leadership, which you find everywhere in the world. FIFA was made up of corrupt individuals but yet FIFA ran smoothly for years without hitches every now and then, why? cos they had the right system in place.
The NASS in midst of recession and borrowings increased her budget to 125billion and were expecting applauds for disclosing this fact, meanwhile most states can't even pay her workers their salaries.
There is need for massive restructuring in this country, we always take a step forward and 3 backwards, in the end regressing.
I'm no pro-biafra but our leaders are always quick to make reference to the USA, how multi-ethnic and diverse groups can live together but in the US nobody is holding a gun to anyone's head and chanting "unity is a must".
The time has come for people to decide their fates, if a group wants out, it's all fine and good since this is enshrined in the UN convention. But if we must continue as a country then we must come together and decide how we want to continue.

Dapo's case is small, love they
say can break barriers, although
who knows how much a Biafran
pound would exchange for when the time for dowry ever comes.
For it is often said that the dowry
to marry from that region in
Nigerian Naira can make a young
man hug a transformer, how
much more would it be in Biafran pounds. Just hope by then Dapo
won't tell the Oba of Lagos(that
one that told Emeka to jump into
the Lagoon) to allow him dive into
the water when he is told to bring
3 billion Biafran pounds which would be about #300 million
Nigerian Naira before he can
marry their beautiful Abian
princess. That is if they even
agree to allow him after the
second civil war that led to a separation.

nigeria could change the naira again...it worked very well in the civil war..

nigeria will lobby against you internationaly to piss you off....

thinking that nigerians are afraid of the international community is foolishness.....better dont try it....

what you could have is more autonomy, but dividing nigera will not work without a war....

restructuring is a pipe dream too...their are too many that profit from nigeria the way it is now....your biggest challenge would be getting those wans to agree with you....

xcolanto:
Buhari's apc government has divided Nigerians along religious, tribal and political lines the most than any other government in the history of Nigeria. His acts ever since coming into government has created panic, insecurity and uncertainties not only to the citizens but to the international communities alike. Is it his selection of members of his government being from a particular region, tribe or religious beliefs or his 5% to 97% statement? Is it his appointments reflecting his ethnic bias or his loopsided fight against corruption targeted mostly at the southern part of the country? Did we not witnesses his disdain for the minority shitte Muslims which under his watch thousands were killed including children and women? Something not seen or heard off even in war like situations? Have we not seen his undemocratic response to peaceful protests from IPOB, #freezarky to BBOG, clamping down on them and hounding them like dogs and baboons in a jungle?

Yet people foolishly ask questions on why are the voices for secession, referendum, restructuring, zoning and all other applications to break up this fraudulent contraception is louder than ever? Well incase you missed the memo! Read this post again angry
though the Apc govt has succeeded in dividing the country along religious, political lines but guess what, Nigerians are uniting along the "hunger" line. so come 2019 Apc are in for a shocker.

macaranta:
I'm very neutral on this issue.. But the following questions needs logical unbiased answers;
1 . how did boko haram feed 300 girls for 3years in a war torn Sambisa forest with soldiers and MNJTF swarming the area regularly.
2.When did they recieve such beautiful ankara clothes was it before or after their release?
2a.If before, did BH have enough tailors and materials to sew clothes for 300 girls and more recently for that matter because the clothes look new.
2b.If after, at what point did tailors carefully measure those girls(the clothes are a perfect fit) and completed the sewing. Keep in mind that the average Nigerian tailor will take weeks to even complete a single dress. So were the girls taken elsewhere for this purpose as apparently they moved from the camp to a waiting mi-17 NAF helicopter waiting on standby enroute Abuja.
3.Can an independent investigative journalist be granted access to those girls to carry out some interview and cross examination of purported waec candidates before their kidnap.
4.Can waec release an independent statement of their batch of application for the exam, given that chibok school and waec should have records of its students wanting to write waec. Can they validate that these girls indeed registered for the exams?
5.How much was paid to get those girls released and which account was it paid to in whose name and which bank? Or was it paid in cash?
6.so many other fishy details I don't have time listing out...

However, i pray this story is legit. If this is the case, then welcome back to the girls, I wish them a speedy reintegration into society.
I see a lot of sense in this write up.For their release, the govt released some captured terrorist.
