Pls watch out for the transmission, i believed it is equipped with a CVT( continuos variable transmission). It is not like d regular transmission. Pls do extensive research on it

I need this very information too. My 05 Toyota matrix makes noise@ slight throttle without leakage anywhere within d exhaust.

Though no catalyst but i just don't like that audible noise.

A mechanic also suggested that introducing a net into that space previously occupied by d catalytic converter will muffle d loud noise.

Am afraid, i wouldn't want anything that would suffocate my engine later.

Pls need advice whether or not to go ahead

I already order this to install in my 06 matrix. I brought out d entire exhaust pipe & discovered that d upstream catalyst pot is empty without catalyst, though b4 then i scanned & got p0420 code.

Though the 2nd catalyst downstream is still intact

There are high quality O2 spacers with mini inbuilt catalyst, those work best & most ordinary spacers nay not work on some vehicles

Car gurus in the house, i need urgent help.

The spark plugs in my car hasn't been replaced for the past 3yrs it landed Nigeria.

The car runs fine without any misfire, but am just worried not to have problem when it's time replace them.

My guess was actually right, i got new plugs ready, but as we speak, the plugs are stuck. I couldn't loose them, I don't want to force them to avoid them breaking.

Pls is there any technique i can use to get them out without causing harm to my engine?

In addition, restoring a vehicles cooling system to factory can sometimes be complicated .

The use of tap water causes corrosion at Aluminum parts, especially at joints with rubber clips, also if the engine had a history of wear, cooler oil might extend bearing life.
If engine had a history of head gasket change without head resurfacing, optimal temps can result in leaks.

Restoring settings is good, but a lot of checks and balances need to be made or vehicle will become undrivable which defeats the aim of any form of preventive maintenance

And which of d O2 sensors will i use it for, downstream or upstream?

I will need to leave the p0128 code pending for nw due to d complexity around eliminating it.

I replaced d air intake filter, cleaned the throttle body with cab cleaner, welds exhaust leaks, already bought original NGK spark plugs but yet to replaced, gas cap not clicking after lock, already ordered a new one but yet to arrive.

I did a scan & d following code popped up: P0420
P0441
P0128.

Which of these is d real culprit & How do i eliminate them?

Pls i need help, i bought this car specifically because of fuel economy.

a list of things could cause your vehicle to throw up this code p0420, ranging from a bad 02 sensor to a bad catalytic converter if it a bad 02 sensor it will give false readings or a faulty 02 sensor wire harness, if it a clogged catalytic converter you should be experiencing loss of power from your car, now for fuel consumption it might be a your vehicle computer not knowing when your vehicle is at optimum temperature causing your vehicle too run rich (to much fuel less air) now this is where the other code p0128 is linked to the p0420, p0128 is indicating thermostat malfunction, u might have a stuck open thermostat not allowing your vehicle get to optimum temperature or ect sensor giving wrong values or it bad

Thank Louiscarz, i will focus more on the thermostat functionality & probably replace it. Temperature sensor too will be checked

I had similar issue with my 1998 camry, the odometer was blank, speedometer wasn't rising & my issue was transmission hardly shift from first gear to 2nd, d tachometer will nearly get to 5000rpm & sometimes i have to release my leg from throttle b4 it will manage to shift, subsequent gears shift pretty fine.

All i did was replacement of the instrument cluster completely & everything came back normal.

The scan was actually d first thing i did before going to d panel to weld.

The car actually drives very well just d fuel consumption is my headache.

Maybe i will need to confirm d functionality of my temperature sensor & probably replace.

I will also replace d plugs & re scan to see if d codes will clear.

Hello everyone.

Pls i need advice, i am considering buying a nissan versa 2007 to 2009 hatchback. When going through the reviews online, i found out that it is equipped with a continuous variable transmission (CVT) which is different from d conventional transmission.

Pls has anyone here used this car before?

If the oil sump filter is clogged, it could prevent d oil pump from delivering enough oil to d engine parts. Firstly, clean d oil sump filter. If that didn't work, then replace d oil pump.

In my Camry 2000, Low hydraulic oil level normally show brake alarm & not engine oil warning. It could vary from car to car though.
