@op Plz note that the Northern Nigerians are more loyal to their Islamic family and their constitution anywhere in the world than Nigeria and her constitution. The one Nigeria is just because of oil money from the south |
Why is it that its only the money aspects of the OLD Testament that the Nigerian pentecostal churches are always after. What about the blood sacrifice; the ram for the sin sacrifice the turtle doves for the burnt offerings; incents .. etc I know someone will say Jesus as paid for those things I listed above. .. which is right based on the New testament. So are the pastors saying that Jesus only died to end only the blood sacrifice of the law and excluding the financial aspects of the law. This is not Biblical. JESUS came 2 fulfil and end the law. Every thing in the law including the animal blood sacrifice; the traditions and the financial aspects of the law... ok So those SACRIFICIAL OFFERING; TITHES; FIRST FRUIT OFFERING etc are all part of the old testament. .. The only one the new testament church did is free and willing giving/offerings. |
The fact that GEJ is a slow poke doesn't mean we need a more evil devil called APC 2 come and talk nonsense. .. This is a sign that APC is a big failure waiting to happen. |
If the men will get 72 virgins girls in paradise so what will the female get ? |
@Yosmen The believe of respecting the anointing in your pastor life is a big fat lie from Nigerian church. As a matured and well behaved person you need to respect every man u meet in life wether he is a pastor or not. |
The next thing you will hear is that you will hear the governor and the pastors will tell you its the Devils that is stopping that state from progressing. Delta state economy is over 80% based on oil from SHell and Chevron. Spdc (shell) has already sold all their fields and Chevron has started following same. So u guys don't wake up u shall cry later in hunger |
@Lobeez Jesus was dedicated in Luke 2 vs 21-24 |
Lol @ op Its not compulsory to take your car or anything to church for dedication expect your child based on the Bible teaching but you know Nigerian churches are very very religious and traditional even having a way of doing things that churches in the western world don't even practices. do you know the common one now is the papa & mama stuff reigning .... |
I believe in a country like Nigeria investment should be a personal thing because when it fails no law will help you recover your fund. |
@op the truth is that Qatar is very United against poverty and committed but Nigeria is very divided and not committed against poverty only lip service |
why is that the average Nigeria n man sees constructive criticism as a witch hurt. from pastors to Iman to politicians now to coaches. ... why... it wasn't only olise that did that analysis even kuffour and d south Africa guys all said same. keshi is a genius and should take constructive criticism as one of the ladders to remain on top for a longer time. |
Christianity is not about your tradition; culture nor your temperaments tradition: I must not live my life like an American nor an israelis to b a born again Christian culture : I must not wear suit and tie or dress like a yoruba man to be saved temperaments: I must not talk calm like kumuyi or adeboye nor should I speak Queens English like oyakilome or big big grammar like okotie to make heaven. irrespective of my tradition; culture and temperament if I invite jesus into my heart confess and believe he is the son of God I am saved. but take note if I want to be part of a particular local church congregation I must abide to their tradition; culture and temperament in order to be a member. if not you will be called a rebellious Christian. although this will not stop you from making heaven but for peace sake please go to a church or congregation that you can fit into their tradition; culture and temperament. |
when a lady comes across a well to do young man who ask her hand in marriage; all the words you be hearing from her mouth is LOVE LOVE LOVE. Love is blind; I love him so much; Thank you God for bring Him to me etc but when a financially struggling young man meets that same lady for marriage; she will tell him that she wants to pray about it; I will like to think about it; let me talk to my mother first; let me inform the pastor etc. So I think; Ladies are after the money first before love... I think having Money as a young man increases your chances of marrying the most decent; beautiful lady in town or ones church. Let me get ur view abt this. |
thanks brothers & sisters for your replies... I think its high time we study the bible for our selves and stop letting the Mr Pastor ( Bishop; Rev. etc) explain to us whats suit their thinking and not the Bible. Even Jesus said to the rich man if u want to follow me; Go and sell ur properties and follow me ; please dont get me wrong ooo am not saying that the pastor should be naked ooo.. But is it only pastor pastor etc collecting the money into his bank accounts... while there are millions of church members who cant even eat etc. and he tells them to live by faith that their rewards is in heaven; they shouldnt mind worldly things... Helping the poor is the main gospel of Jesus and the apostles... More comments are welcome |
I came across a scripture in the Bible that shows me why church members are suffering after paying their tithes; but the pastors are rich buying private jets; exotic cars etcs. I call it "GIVING A-MISS" Before last week; i was told by Nigerian pastors that bring 100% of your tithe (which is 10% of your income) to the church (Pastor) according to Malachi 3 vs 10. No problem; but the question that was always boiling in my mind is; SHOULD THE PASTOR ONLY COLLECT THE 100% of the tithe ?most pastors will tell u that just give it; whatever the church (Pastor) does with it is not your concern. But I found this in the same Bible: Deuteronomy Chapter 14 vs 22-29; especially vs 28-29 (below) 28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates: 29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest. So; from the above passage; we are met (not the pastor to do it for us); to take some percentage of our tithe to the Orphanage homes; the old peoples homes; give to the beggers on the street; then give the other remaining percentage to the church ( Levite who is the pastor). I think is one of the reasons why church members are not blessed by God after tithing because they are not obeying the Tithe law according to the Bible but are obeying the pastors voice (esp. Nigerian pastor) that will collect the 100% while the poor are suffering around them. Nairaland christians what do you think ![]() ![]() |
its simply lagos stress... how many busstops do u have btw ur place of wk & ur house? |
@chiudo Please I dont knw much abt accounting o... but i heard abt some soft skills like pearch tree; SAP etc. I will advice u to choose which area u want to bcom an expert on first. do u want to b a banker; cashier; investment broker; Private equity analyst; corporate accountant etc after that u can now go and look for a mentor in the area that u have chosen... the mentor should able to take u 4rm there. PLEASE NOTE:- DONT EVER BEG UR MENTOR FOR MONEY!!!! hope this help |
I just want to write this article as a source of inspiration esp. to graduates whose parents cant afford over 2.5M naira to send them to do their Msc abroad. From my experience in Nigeria I have found that medium scales companies dont rely on your certificates. all they want is someone that can do the job. someone that can help them complete the project. I read engineering in school; i found that during my first yr after NYSC; that when ever an opportunity shows up; the employer has 2 things to ask:- (1) if u re a fresh graduate; can we see ur Msc certificate ( mostly Oversea Msc) (2) if u re not a fresh graduate; how many yr work experience do you have? what & what projects have u done b4? finally are u sure u can do this job? Based on the above question; I came to a conclusion that:- since my parents cant send me Oversea for my Mscs; cant i go for the second option ![]() So here begins my career testimony:- After deciding to go for the second option; which is to become experienced/ skilled person; the first step that I took was to streamlined my passion to one area of my engineering profession. I found out almost all the new engineers over there are JACK OF ALL TRADE; they can do all things mentality...; thats not the mind set of the professionals. The second step; I took was to look for a MENTOR. I prayerfully search for one. it took me alot of time; to locate one but I make sure I locate one. You see; jst as a son will suffer without the guidance from his father; so are many fresh graduate suffering today. My Mentor was the one that taught me on how to write a CV that no employer in my field can resist. He taught me also of the importance of SKILL acquisition etc etc... The third step: Based on my Mentors advice; I enrolled in an engineering skill training program based in Lagos; after the training; men my eyes were opened. i could see why I was unemployable before. I could see why many millions of graduates are roaming the streets. Do you know that after the training program or skill acquisition program; i saw a vacancy with a small scale firm; they were looking for 2 engineers. over a hundred of us submitted CVs but few were called for the interview; and I happened to be among the few. All the questions I was asked centered around those skills which I have gotten from that training school. That was how I landed my first job in Lagos on Dec. 2006. repeating the same process; from getting more experienced mentors to sending myself on advance courses; by God grace I have worked in more 6 companies till date. I am currently in my 7th company ( a billion dollar worth firm) as a senior engineer. LESSONS:- (1) The fact that you cant go to overseas for your Msc; doesnt mean you cant work in the multi-nationals (2) Just try and locate your passion; streamline yourself to a profession that you want to be come an expert in (3) locate a mentor in that profession that you have choose (4) Please Please GO FOR SKILL ACQUISITION; send your self on training programs/ courses. some are cheap like min. 20-50k naira. this is the most important Thanks for reading hope this inspire someone. please dont mind my spellings. I am not an english student oo... cheers |
assuming people like Abacha etc invest their looted fund into Nigeria; I think we would have much better than this. |
if the policeman join to beat the boys; then there`s no need to arrest the villagers. we have to be very careful with this case oo; if not; pocket picker & robbers with toy gun & knifes will b robbing people on the street on day light; and no body will come out. every one will fold their hand and watch; because if we mobilize and go after the robbers; we will b arrested. I think; the Lucky of a guy should b the one to b arrested; because he was the one that made others to believe that the UNIPORT boys were thieves.. |
same will the Boko Haram do to the North; if they finally succeed |
even the prostitute on the street; if u ask her the type of man she is hoping; she will still answer u GOD FEARING ![]() |
insider job |
u see ; there re 2 things thats important here; (1) Good money management (2) Environmental condition let him develop good money management; I think he is not doing bad in the UK; but the environment maybe his problem; jst ignore those whites with their big cars or big pay; dont forget u dont have same culture. an average white man only saves money for himself & family (nuclear). but the average Nigerian man in the UK; saves money for himself; families (extended & nuclear); relatives; sometimes even his village kingsmen... This is one reason why the money we earn abroad are not always enough for us. and some other things under Environmental condition; is dat u will spend more in Nigeria compare to the UK; if u want to get same quality of life. from ur children school to NEPA to Security to bad roads to etc.... so Please I will advice u stay there and dont even think abt coming to Nigeria at all unless 4 visit. |
