Demarketing and demystifying the group will do nada, cultism is making waves across the country especially in rural areas. Not many of them are on nairaland.
So no efforts should be made at all or what's your position? De-marketing shouldn't be on NL alone. It can done anywhere. You tend to negate every point aimed at demystifying the cults groups and to me, not good at all. Whether it will work or not, let's even give it a try. And surely it is working because many are coming out to expose the ills and scares they've gone through because of it.

It started someday, it will end someday when the uselessness is exposed to its core. Until then we will keep preaching #saynotocultism. Many people never believed that apartheid will end but it did. Abacha turned himself to a demi-god but where is he today? Hitler never believed he would lose but he did.

Edmund Burke nailed it when he said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Do we fold our hands and say nothing will change, no. We keep pressing on. Shalom matey.

i am coming to that, cultism in Nigeria cannot be STOPPED, but can be contained. I started a program last year were i visit secondary schools at elelenwo, rumuokoro and had discussion with the students on the snares and dangers of cultism. I need more hands as soon as schools resumes next year. At least we have to start somewhere.
De-marketing and demystifying the groups is one of the fastest method that will surely help.

Those of us that have been scorched already should warn our young ones of the dangers inherent.

Nobody suppose enter bush abeg. Gain no dey am.

You don't need to engage him. You will only invite to create more nuisance.

What's your own suggestion on stopping this menace?

Considering the ideaologies behind the formation of this cult groups, i wouldn't outrightly condemn cultism. Any intelligent person who carefully listens to the orientations of some cult groups would detect, brilliance, intelligence and well arrange diction and semantic. A little thinking will tell you that sane minds are behind all these. Behind a monster, there is an intelligent designer. Most of this designers are people held in high esteem in the society. Some are occupying political offices, some are great pastors, some are lawyers and judges and some are in the academics. I got to know of this facts when a powerful figure in the country paid us a visit in the creek and shouted, Aro mates!
More like Frankenstein's monster? Right?

We need to call evil, evil. If something has changed the ideologies it formed, then it behooves of those behind the "intelligent & brilliance" to denounce it wholeheartedly. Every year-in, year-out, these frats/groups still holds conventions making it seem interesting to the innocent onlooker whereas it is not.

I'm sure you and CharleyGold will remember or likely know of this incident in Rivers State late 90s/early 00s. (I've always refrained from giving an account because some of the stories are well-known and may make it easy to id me. I will not say the name of the school too). An undergraduate not up to 200 level buried a rival alive to show his readiness to take over the reins of the campus' leadership.

How does that relate to intelligence and brilliance? I'm not trying to undermine your school of thought, not at all. But how does that relate to an ideology based on premeditated murder? That someone is a pastor, political office holder does not reduce the effects of a problem. For one cultist that escapes this crazy demon eating the youths up, 99 go down for it.

Let's all #saynotocultism with our open voices. (I'm hurt already). cry embarassed

This FIFA award has proved itself to be a scam. How can a man lead that Bayern team and not win the best. Even the best goalkeeper is not in the best eleven.
Bros I understand your submission although at it from another angle. Klopp helped Liverpool clinch something they have been looking for 30 years and fresh from the back of UCL trophy. Please give the man a medal. He deserves it too. Also note that judges vote for these these awards.

Same as Mbappe.
Mbappe is not cool-headed. He needs to watch it else managers wouldn't want an egoistic personality into the dressing room. CR7 was an exception.

The recent one is actually a sanity issue. He created the account to showcase his childishness on many topics on this forum. Somehow he found his way here. He likes saying ridiculous things and enjoys being quoted. He is actually enjoying himself here, the best treatment is act as if he doesn't exist.
Best thing is to ignore. No fool likes to be ignored. Ignoring people is the most painful for those with complex issues and one attribute of any with complex issue is attention. Starve them of attention and see them whine.

Was about telling him the same thing. I think we need to add that moniker you quoted to the list of people to ignore. There's something fishy about these derailers. They appear all at once and exhibit the same stupid attitude.
