I have read about somebody on nairaland here who lived in Siegen, didn't work for almost seven months after arrival but still had good testimony of how he later made money in DE while studying even with good grades in his studies...

I am assuming most Nigerian students are very poor with multitasking because in Nigeria, it is mostly just a narrow approach of studies alone in our universities

Hi I would recommend LinkedIn learning. If you can't afford the subscription, youtube is also a great place. All you need is the drive and commitment. There's really no time frame to master anything. Just begin

Hi there, I like to speak for my profession which is IT. I would suggest UI/UX, infrastructure services, data analytics. These are very relevant in the German market right now. You really don't need to know programming for these but if you can learn it aswell. There are tons of free materials online to guide you especially LinkedIn and youtube.

1. Is it wrong for German Government to include change of resident title as part of their immigration policy NB: there is strict requirement to achieve that and its not for unskilled job as you claimed earlier

Let me quickly say this. I personally would not advice anyone to quit study and started hunting for job.

However, it is obvious that Germany need more working class immigrants especially in those unregulated field to contribute to the economy through payment of tax and social securities. Germany doesn't not run a pension scheme like Nigeria where pension fund is kept aside in a safe, they run a system where the current working populace pay those who have retired and the flow continues like that. As a student you contribute almost nothing to the economy, it's even worse when you keep changing schools and didnt finish the master on time.

In as much as you want to condemn the act, note that the system permit it and in fact has a very smooth path to change your residence status. A friend confirmed that from one of the staff at the Munich foreign office.

So, doing stuff that is totally permitted by the immigration law shouldn't be seen as bad.

Tell me which reasonable person with valuable skill would abandon his/her masters when the person can work and school along side and get full time employment afterwards.. Not everybody is planning on hanging on to working and looking for better pay and better jobs till they retire... Try to see through a lens like starting up your own IT firm, creating innovative and disruptive solutions in the IT world etc, where degree or no degree is inconsequential

Beliefs like this is why it's getting harder and harder to get a student visa into Germany from Nigeria. The government has probably run the numbers and discovered that most Nigerians who come to study do not actually get the qualification they came for and instead abandon it for some low skilled jobs most times. Other nationalities like Indians come in and focus on their studies, finish it and then get higher paying jobs and contribute to the system.

Who told you everybody that enters Germany with student visa go there for schooling...Considering all tie options available, student visa still remains the best.. Imagine you have about two years to settle down and look for job, anytime you get the job you quit your studies and start working.. Unlike entering Germany with 6 months job hunt visa where you would be under serious pressure to get a job within that short period.

This is very misleading please. If I'm not mistaken, you're not even in Germany. You need to stay off from whoever is giving you all these wrong information....nawa for you ooo

Go to Cologne. The better city the better for you. Forget fancy names you can learn anything in IT on your own. Meanwhile what are you proficient in right now?

I don't think it is racism, the same way, you won't see a white govt worker in Nigeria, is the same way you won't see blacks as doctors and bank workers in Germany.

This is more than racism but economical power, we blacks should stop the victim mentality, first if all, it is not our country, don't expect equal opportunities, the German govt will first think about the German white citizens before a foreigner, the foreigners are not the one voting in elections but the Germans, if all jobs are given to foreigners do you think the Germans will happy.

In every society, the govt must think about its native first before a foreigner, a native must have economical, political and social power before a foreigner or else it will be disaster, it happens every where.
