I have read about somebody on nairaland here who lived in Siegen, didn't work for almost seven months after arrival but still had good testimony of how he later made money in DE while studying even with good grades in his studies...
I am assuming most Nigerian students are very poor with multitasking because in Nigeria, it is mostly just a narrow approach of studies alone in our universities Mr Analysis. Talk is cheap.. do enter germany make you come experience your own. I cant wait to hear your own wonderful stories |

I tried to end it earlier because I am not use to arguments geared towards trying to win....I am already tired of this topic, it has become less of an intellectual discuss; it has gravitated towards an egocentric discussion of who will win and who is more informed.. Somebody was even telling me how my point is less weighty because I am not yet in Germany....My general advice is lets have an open heart to see beyond our experiences.... Even while still in Nigeria, I assisted my friend with almost 60% of his master's thesis by reason of my exposure in the industry... Lets drop assumptions and pride o...the world has become a global village and somebody in your village can have access to information in Germany that your 3years in Germany has not given to you . Oga I am calling you out because you keep feeling right when you're obviously not and I can't stand it...all I want you to do is to stop misleading people with wrong information for which you're not even sure. stephots10: For the last time. I have few questions for you.
Kindly state what exactly you feel its wrong and should be condemned
1. Is it wrong for German Government to include change of resident title as part of their immigration policy NB: there is strict requirement to achieve that and its not for unskilled job as you claimed earlier
OR
2. Its wrong for people (Nigerians and other Nationalities) to explore that provision of the law owing to their personal endeavor.
Please don't state your opinion as it doesn't represent any fact whatsoever, kindly back up your answer with statement of fact (maybe quote a verified source). I am open to learn and would be glad if you can educate me more.
Regards And I will also refer you back to the immigration law about change of residence type because you clearly don't understand anything. stephots10: Let me quickly say this. I personally would not advice anyone to quit study and started hunting for job.
However, it is obvious that Germany need more working class immigrants especially in those unregulated field to contribute to the economy through payment of tax and social securities. Germany doesn't not run a pension scheme like Nigeria where pension fund is kept aside in a safe, they run a system where the current working populace pay those who have retired and the flow continues like that. As a student you contribute almost nothing to the economy, it's even worse when you keep changing schools and didnt finish the master on time.
In as much as you want to condemn the act, note that the system permit it and in fact has a very smooth path to change your residence status. A friend confirmed that from one of the staff at the Munich foreign office.
So, doing stuff that is totally permitted by the immigration law shouldn't be seen as bad. You're very pathetic. I can see its people like you giving that SOLARPOWER guy misleading information. Tell me which reasonable person with valuable skill would abandon his/her masters when the person can work and school along side and get full time employment afterwards.. The people abandoning their studies end up in unskilled jobs thereby undermining africans as a whole, which is why we must completely condemn the act. There is absolutely no sense in your comment and I'm very sure you don't understand the German immigration law atall. |

The guy in question is EXTREMELY GOOD... He is not even your average student, the only problem is he does not worship certificates like you want to make us do here...
Visa issue is affecting different countries with high population even India the other op was boasting about face the same issues, infact the visa issue in india is worse, I can send you screen shots of my chats with Indian students concerning this.....
Personally, I am an academic person and I already plan to run my studies to at least phd level minimum, so don't think you are talking to somebody who is afraid to study... But in the same light, I will not force this my desire to study on another person, and I will not condemned anybody who do otherwise, I know IT guys in canada and usa working in great companies without college degrees (I mean not even Bsc)hence I refuse to be myopic by viewing career growth in terms of degrees only and concerning the career growth you emphasized... Not everybody is planning on hanging on to working and looking for better pay and better jobs till they retire... Try to see through a lens like starting up your own IT firm, creating innovative and disruptive solutions in the IT world etc, where degree or no degree is inconsequential You're just spewing BS. That advice you gave the guy is terrible, if he can't study he should get a work visa or sit his ass in Nigeria. Buliwyf: Beliefs like this is why it's getting harder and harder to get a student visa into Germany from Nigeria. The government has probably run the numbers and discovered that most Nigerians who come to study do not actually get the qualification they came for and instead abandon it for some low skilled jobs most times. Other nationalities like Indians come in and focus on their studies, finish it and then get higher paying jobs and contribute to the system. God will bless you my brother...all these people keep representing africans badly which is just pathetic. No wonder majority of us end up in degrading jobs and are quick to always shout racism |

Imagine you have about two years to settle down and look for job, anytime you get the job you quit your studies and start working.. sexylassie2: I don't think it is racism, the same way, you won't see a white govt worker in Nigeria, is the same way you won't see blacks as doctors and bank workers in Germany.
This is more than racism but economical power, we blacks should stop the victim mentality, first if all, it is not our country, don't expect equal opportunities, the German govt will first think about the German white citizens before a foreigner, the foreigners are not the one voting in elections but the Germans, if all jobs are given to foreigners do you think the Germans will happy.
In every society, the govt must think about its native first before a foreigner, a native must have economical, political and social power before a foreigner or else it will be disaster, it happens every where.
It is up to foreigners whether blacks, yellow or of any race to find its own path to success in a foreign country. As much as I agree with you, you have to understand that's his opinion which doesn't make it necessarily right or wrong. I asked him that question because of his earlier comment which I found amusing...anyways have a good one |
