I really pray Peter Obi becomes the next president of Nigeria because if not, with the level of suffering in Nigeria now the next 4 years(with this other currupt politician) people might just be dropping dead on the road while walking/working due to hunger.

I’d suggest you should take a lit time out and study the origin of the scriptures, and apply only your common sense before you begin.

I've heard you sir/Ma. When you are ready for the truth you'll find it.

I'd suggest you should take a lit time out and study your scriptures pray for understanding though before you begin.

I don’t think he was called “jesus” when he was alive, go check his real name in Hebrew.

Doesn't matter. He created the languages remember! Also if you as a human can even allow people give you a nickname and you graciously respond to that nickname when a friend calls you that, how much more Jesus Christ who is far more loving, gracious, kind and sees our heart anytime we call that name and know we are talking about him.

In the last couple of months there has been a very disturbing trend that has spread across social media through most of the Nigerian internet comedians.
This trend is the use of the Lord's names name in vain. If you are a very attentive person you will notice the voice they include in their videos screaming 'Jesus' all in a bid to make the video funnier.
How ignorant can people pretend to be when the know the consequences (that those who do this will die) of their actions but still go ahead to do this without fear.
This comedians will feel hurt emotionally if a friend makes fun of their surname(fathers name) in anyway and would never tolerate anyone making jest of their precious mother's name but they boldly use the name of the Lord who has given them breath as a thing of comedy all in a bit to make money.
Another thing to note is that even the Muslims or any other religion will never try this but those who profess to be Christians, go to church on Sundays and have pastors who even pray for them without reprimanding them go ahead to commit this sin boldly.
Well, I am here to remind you and not to judge you because you have already been judged by your words and you know the consequences of your spoken words and it's either you repent from this or be prepared for whatever comes as a result. Shalom.

Also did you know that one of the reasons YouTube removed the dislike button was because Joe bidden's white house speech videos got more dislikes than likes? undecided

Made up my mind never to fight for another man's disagreements. If the president has an issue with another country's president or people then he should send his family members or go himself and trash the issue and not send innocent young men to their deaths and when the problem is finally settled both presidential families shake hands while the others mourn their dead without any gain or benefits.

Mrsoft3:

Ok o let's use the bible since you have started.

The name of the Lord by the angel is Emmanuel..
There is Jesus and there is Jesus the christ. A name that has been made to be a strong tower can never be used any how, there is a Gabriel Jesus, there is a Jesus navas.

Let us be very sincere with ourselves. Only God can judge, if the Lord makes a name to be a strong tower, then there is a system used to access it.

Sorry I'm just responding to this now, it's been a very busy day at work.

Back to the topic... Are you saying that the commandment 'thou shalt not use the name of the Lord your God in vain' was referencing to a name that's 'accessed through a system'? I'm confused here!

Your contribution in there being other people with the name Jesus is very true to some people but they are very few. But I can assure you that in this case when one decides that God's command is not clear enough for him/her then his/her conscience will do the job he's trying to escape from. 100% of Nigerian Christians who use the name of Jesus in vain knows deep in their conscience that the Jesus they called is Jesus the Christ and they can only try to convince themselves otherwise. Remember God searches the heart and even our thoughts are like words to Him.

PlayerMeji:
Oga, who told you he was judging. He was simply highlighting the issue of using the Lord's name in vain even if it was for a joke.

The issue of always jumping to 'judge no one because one is not God' is hugely misinterpreted to mean no one has the right to condemn the other person's actions even when they are wrong.

What the gentleman above said is that there should be some sort of respect to the name like Muslims will say SAW whenever they mention any prophet

I'm glad someone sees my point. Thank you

Who told u they are using in vain?who are u to judge the utterances of people u hardly know?why not leave judgement to God,oga preacher?

It would be fair if you actually read what was written there to understand and not just to reply. Telling someone he has done or doing wrong is not judging them. The attitude of always referring to reprimand as judgments is why our society keeps getting farther away from God, and to correct you if you care to listen
1st Corinthians 2:15.
The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.
John 7:24
Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment

Health / WHO: Countries Should Not Require Proof Of Vaccine For International Travel. by dhardline(m): 3:36pm On Jan 22, 2022
All Embassies in and out of Nigeria should take note. I wonder why this is not making news headlines.

The tenth meeting of the Emergency Committee convened by the WHO Director-General under the International Health Regulations (2005) (IHR) regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic took place on Thursday 13 January 2022 from 12:00 to 17:00 Geneva time

6. MODIFIED: Lift or ease international traffic bans as they do not provide added value and continue to contribute to the economic and social stress experienced by States Parties. The failure of travel restrictions introduced after the detection and reporting of Omicron variant to limit international spread of Omicron demonstrates the ineffectiveness of such measures over time. Travel measures (e.g. masking, testing, isolation/quarantine, and vaccination) should be based on risk assessments and avoid placing the financial burden on international travellers in accordance with Article 40 of the IHR.

7. EXTENDED: Do NOT require proof of vaccination against COVID-19 for international travel as the only pathway or condition permitting international travel given limited global access and inequitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. State Parties should consider a risk-based approach to the facilitation of international travel by lifting or modifying measures, such as testing and/or quarantine requirements, when appropriate, in accordance with the WHO guidance.

This is a very good precedence and I believe Nigeria should follow suit and enact laws that will forbid public figures from displaying certain forms of characters, attitudes and modes of life. For example I was very disappointed by the billboards that had Ebuka of big brother with his tattoos on full display. Every child who sees it will aspire to also do the same which is wrong. If you want a tattoo get it for yourself, don't display it for us to copy.
