If the traffic offense is high they should impound the vehicle for 3 months and give it back to the owner after paying N10k for security... 3 months without your car is enough punishment

I am also waiting for an answer to this because I have read the new electoral act, I didn't see where it was stated candidates must resign 30 days prior to primary election or congress.

you read to respond and not to understand.

Take care cause I can't continue to repeat myself. If you believe corruption is stopping Nigeria, good luck with and go get the Jesus Christ without corruption in him to fix Nigeria.

The crown prince of Dubai is one of the richest person on earth but he still managed to change the fortunes of his country. It's vision.

Saudi Arabia kingdom swim in corruption and yet they develop their place.

Gaddafi turned the fortunes of Libya around and he was still corrupt.

Vision develops a nation. Nigeria leaders lack vision
You are suppose to be my friend. This is exactly what I tell people. Corruption is not the problem of Nigeria but lack of creativity and problem-solving skills.

Before you pass any judgement here

Try to watch the video of the said girls interview and that of the accused woman and her husband

You will agree with me after that the girl was lying

She said she got pregnant in Lagos

But it was confirmed that she joined the family in Lagos by January and gave birth by June 11

And the pregnancy entered 12 months.

The girl just want to destroy the family

Why did she run away to go write waec without breastfeeding her baby

I fear nairaland people, they can pass judgment without listen to both sides of the story

The girl should be arrested for neglecting her new born baby
Yes, some people are just judging the couple with emotions instead of reality. Even the girl confirmed that the family was taking good care of her the first time. The person I pity most is the man. At times you may help someone and fall into trouble. The girls behaviour looks wayward.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Dubai Becomes World's First 100% Paperless Government (Photos) by dheaven: 6:08am On Dec 15, 2021
backbencher:
As usual many Nairalanders are saying ' Nigeria bad' and ' Why aren't we like the UAE'?

The simple answer why we cannot be like the UAE is because we don't have the money to do it.

The UAE produces 2.4 million barrels of crude oil a day. It also has 15 million people counting the expats

Nigeria produces less than 1.5 million barrels of crude a day, and has over 200 million people

That means that at the end of the day, the UAE has the money and the means to do whatever it wants. Nigeria does not have that capability because they are too many of us for the oil money to go around easily. Even if we shared the money equally ( If we shared our 2020 budget among each and every Nigerian, each one of is would get just 20000 naira)

If we want to be like the UAE then we have to tell 190 million Nigerians that they are no longer Nigerians and spend the oil money on the remainder.

Harsh fact but if we want to surpass the UAE, because the UAE at the end of the day is relying on oil and will be broke the day oil runs out, Nigeria must take the path to industrial development and to become an.exporter of industrial goods and services.

That is where Buhari has failed. Even if Buhari was a 'good' leader, he would still leave Nigeria poor because for Nigeria to be rich and prosperous we have to stop thinking that selling raw materials and crude oil and sharing the money ' equitably' is the way to go. That's not how strong nations grow.

Strong nations grow by using their available raw materials and goods and people to produce products the world needs
I wanted to say a lazy man always complains of his tools. But you made a valid point at the end.

Nigerians always messing with crime scenes and DNA evidence! Evacuating without protective gears, no gloves, crude evacuation of body! I know these guys are just doing what they can to help, but this should have been done properly to preserve evidence and perpetrators' fingerprints. Naija police can't trace calls, track phones, no street CCTV cameras, no dashboard cams... police investigation in Nigeria is hardly evidence based! Nigeria is just too underdeveloped to be called a developing country!
6th world country for now.

Business / Re: About 99.4% Of Bank Accounts Contain Less Than N500,000 - NDIC by dheaven: 7:04pm On Oct 31, 2021
Asour:

If you don't believe the NDIC, who do we believe?
Me & you?

Look at it this way, there are ~79.3m active bank accounts in Nigeria (2019, per statists.com).
If 99.4% are =<500k, it means that 0.60% are above that number.

Well, 0.6% of 79.3m is about 475,800. Pushing this numbers up a bit to 1% of 80m account = 800,000.
Is it hard to think of that only about ~ 800,000 accounts (not people) have > 500k? Shouldn't be.
I mean this is a Nigeria where affording a fairly used washing machine puts you in the easy middle class. A 2017 Honda CR-V (Tokunbo)? You have arrived to all your neighbours.

Most Nigerians aren't rich. We'll know when we are.
You brought it down to a lay man understanding. That's very good. Meaning about 800,000 bank accounts still have above 500k in their accounts. Some accounts may be reading in millions and billions. Anywhere in the world it's just a few people that are millionaire's.

Not paying the bride price means you are not married to her yet and she can cheat or marry any other person of her choice without you having the right to complain. What you have done now is just a get together party which anyone can for his or her friend. That N1k bride price is far more valued than the N10million you spent on the party you just did.
