fantabulous08: Good evening people!
Please, what do you think about conditional or probational admission with or without funding at the point of visa interview?
I’m scared that the word CONDITIONAL might appear on my I-20 and most likely give the VO a wrong impression, leading to a denial. The word "conditional" won't appear on your i-20, it only appears on your offer letter. |

Moshkom: Students loans don’t really and mostly sounds well to VOs. Reason being, “How you go take pay am back as a student” and “no be say auto work dey for you immediately after Sch”. Like, “guy don’t come in our Country and because liability”, “na una type go finish school Japa dey hustle because una need to pay outstanding debts”.
You get boss? I have reservations with this answer! In fact international student loans sound more reasonable than "my uncle/aunt is sponsoring me" because at least the loan company is not fictitious, it is well known, the company won't back out from sponsoring when you get your visa, the loan repayments are spread out for several years hence flexible, plus some student loans give moratorium for few months up till a year after graduation. Also, a lot of international MBA students in top business schools majorly have to finance their program with student loans like prodigy/mpower and most of them get approved because V.Os understand that not only is it quite hard to land a full-ride scholarship for MBA, the ROI in the long run will be way higher than the initial loan. So like someone mentioned, it all depends on the person's profile and how the person can defend repaying the loan. |

JaySterling: They have records of everything. And whatever you fill in your application, their database will search for anything matching it with other profiles.
For example, a guy in my area travelled to US in 2018 with visiting visa and he did not return
The address he filled in his application was their family house address
His younger brother recently got denied of an F1 visa. He used the same family house address in his application unknowingly. When they pulled up his profile, his brothers profile came up too. Since they both had same address.
The VO told him that his brother travelled on a visiting VISA which was valid for 6 months and didn’t return. The younger brother was shocked how they knew because he didn’t mention it in his application that he had a relative in USA.
The VO denied his F1 visa based on 2 things -Withholding pertinent information from DS-160 application form. (not revealing he has a relative in USA) -No strong ties (he might abscond like the brother)
If I would advise you, in the place of parent, fill in your uncle or something else
Think about this, what of orphans wey no get parents nko? What would dey fill in that place??
This is to let you know that, that field of parents on DS-160 form is totally irrelevant. And you can put anything there.
Your GRE and GPA is okay, don’t let your bro’s case jeopardize your study dream.
Which uni did you finish from ? I honestly do not think the field of parents is totally irrelevant, except of course you aren't close to your parents. What happens if you want your parent to be present at your graduation? What happens if you probably get married or give birth and you want your parent to come visiting? Anyway, except you won't want your parent to come visiting under any circumstance then you should think twice about your decision. |

I need clarity because my Letter of Good Standing only states that I am a registered student and have passed at least one exam of the qualification. I am unsure if WES will consider this positively or not. Thanks Please clarify if you took all the 4 exams i.e BA1 to BA4. That information is important. |

RealTrump: 1. Stop putting blame on Trump adminstration. US Visas has always been laced with uncertainty. Canada n Australia hv always had a much clearer path for stay after schooling. So telling people that Canada is better than US... that's old news. U just came in last year, why didn't u go to Canada instead of US?
2. You paid a lot of money to school there. You hv a huge burden to succeed. And it is natural that any news that relates to bad immigration creates a huge burden for u. But I think u are beginning to pass your personal burden on other members of the group. To your credit, u had expressly said that people who are forking out a chunk of money should look elsewhere. Thumbs up.
3. Don't let these guys push u around. They don't have the man power to run that country and can NEVER shut the door on immigrants.
I know that as Nigerians we have personally ridiculed ourselves alot more than d whites ridiculed us.
Yes, maybe Nigeria is a shit hole. But Nigeria is that shit hole that can determine whether u will wake up n still be the world power tomorrow.
Nigerians should stop all these inferiority complex and start embracing the substantial amount of power we wield in the world politics. Americans hv d data, they know we too useful to them but in their immediate economy n on their grip on world power. Most of their African venture capital dollars is tied up in Nigeria, u really think they are stupid enough to close d doors?
The same country that banned u yesterday, basically appeased u with a check of $40M a week later n called it "humanitarian aid." That should tell u how important u are.
US has never been a place for non stem students. Aside this, relax, they can push us around but they can't push u too far...they hv a lot to lose too. UK tried but they came back begging with their tail between their legs. Also don't forget it's an election year, a lot of things will be political. Media houses probably don't like d guy n they will paint up stories. If u see d free money in assistantship, grab it!
Personally I have no qualms with Canada, I even applied to 3 schools there...but I don't just think I can tolerate any more cold.
It's a bumpy ride ahead, but hang on, nothing lasts forever. Really who are you! I wish I could like this post more than once, most objective post I have read here in a while. Thumbs up. |

Phrank1222: Hello Team,
Trust you are good.
I am new here and got a couple of questions to ask for persons that applied for masters or studying finance or accounting related courses in USA
I will like to find out the following: 1. How long the admission process takes 2. Was GRE or GMAT waived for you? I was told commercial courses don’t need them 3. If 2 is yes, What is the school like and list then them? From your personal experience I.e. for anyone currently studying there.
This is to guide my decision, pls help a brethren I believe commercial courses need GRE preferably GMAT the most, how else are the schools going to guage your quantitative abilities? To the best of my knowledge, it is majorly art courses that get aptitude test waivers. Well any school can decide to waive tests for applicants just to solicit more applications (very few would do that), but for you to attend reputable business schools, your GMAT/GRE has to be solid. |

larrytopsy: Please what is the difference between this entry level vacancy and the frontline in-betweeners vacancy? I got two invites for Lagos and Ibadan. I had 2.1. The time is different. Lagos was 11:00am whole Ibadan was 11:30-5:30. Pls guys, what is the difference? Frontline internship is like the least, deals with graduate tellers, DSAs and all and min requirement is 2:2 while inbetweeners internship is for people with 2:1 but are yet to serve, or intend going for masters in months- a year time and are not more than 23. Entry level is the main recruitment where you go to training school and all before entering the bank. If you have 2:1, finished nysc and meet up with min requirements and all then you can do entry level, if you intend going for masters in a year time or your nysc is pending till further notice but you have 2:1 and you are 23 then inbetweeners but if you have 2:2 and you are 24 then frontline internship. Thats all I know to the best of my knowledge and I stand to be corrected, I hope I have answered you. |

AlexisM16: Any dress code for final interview? Those that have had their final interview please come answer me o
What is the dress code? I don't own a suit o
Besides that, where does this final interview take place? Head office at VI? Are you a guy? If yes then a suit and tie is necessary however if you are a girl you can wear a calm coloured blazer and pants/skirt. Whichever way, a suit is the most preferable for panel/final interview because you would be surprised you are the only 'suitless one' |
