TOPIC: TRIBUTE TO A SON – “IF…” Part 1

BASIC SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 26:1 - 11.

The biography of Rudyard Kipling, like that of any great soul in history, is full of zigzags. He was born in India to a loving set of parents, but his childhood pain began dramatically at the age of six when he was sent to England for his education. His first five years in England were AGONIZING because of the terrible abuse he endured there form his foster mother.
After that period, he was transferred to a school in Devon where he began to shine, becoming the editor of the school’s paper and embarking on his path as a writer, and becoming a major success. Like popular “stopovers or dark chapters” in the biography of the great, he was struck by misfortune once more when the bank where he kept his savings collapsed, leaving him penniless. He moved to America and continued writing and publishing! He again hit a rock-bottom when he became embroiled in a fight with his brother-in-law, which landed him both in court and local paper headlines, forcing his move back to England.

Oh! No wonder Barbara De Angelis penned: “We don’t develop courage by being happy every day. We develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity.” On a trip to America in 1899, Rudyard Kipling’s daughter, Josephine, died of pneumonia at the age of seven, leaving him heartbroken.

The wheel continued to turn however, and in 1907 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his outstanding work. He wrote the popular poem “IF” which we shall consider tomorrow. But the Holy Ghost wants you to know that adversity is a ladder for the great! Isaiah 26:3 (KJV) says: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee:” There can be PERFECT PEACE in that STORM because your MIND (the seat of thoughts like depression, self-pity and heaviness, etc), is ON HIM. PUT YOUR MIND ON HIM!

The Hebrew puts perfect peace as “PEACE, PEACE!” That means EXCESS PEACE which the world cannot explain! Ana Claudia Antunes wrote: “Life keeps throwing me stones. And I keep finding the diamonds.” No matter what is happening, just keep STAYING YOUR MIND ON Him. You will NEVER end up in shame because THE FIRE OF YOUR ENEMIES WILL DEVOUR THEM (See Verse 11)! TOPIC: THE “OVER RIGHTEOUS” VIRUS!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: ECCLESIASTES 7: 11 - 22.

Verse 16 of today’s scripture says: “Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? That scripture is saying: “DO NOT JUDGE OTHERS! Do not think of yourself as BETTER and HIGHER than others! Do not be OVER RIGHTEOUS (righteous over much).

Wow! It is saying: “Do not practise your holiness in a way that you consider others as INFERIOR to you.” Have you not heard of churches or church leaders condemning other churches, even publicly in the name of holiness?

The Bible is saying out loud and clear: “Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise.” It will destroy you because PRIDE GOES BEFORE A FALL! Always remember that you are standing by GRACE! Your church or denomination is not better than others even if you see things in other churches which you hate! JUDGE NOT! The OWNER of the church will PURGE His church in His own way! He will PURGE His pastors in ways more than your wrath, hatred or fleshy competition can produce!

Dear pastor, stop trying to preach to please men by attacking other pastors! Go on your knees and pray for others and watch what the LORD will do! Proverbs 25:16 says: “Hast thou found honey? Eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.” Did you get that?

IF YOU FIND HONEY, if you find something wonderful about your life, family or ministry, DO NOT “OVEREAT” IT, lest you VOMIT it! “OVEREATING” IT means BRAGGING ABOUT IT! It means USING IT TO DENOUNCE OTHERS! The reason is found in Proverbs 25:27 – “It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.” So it is wise NOT TO PRAISE YOURSELF – searching for your own glory! LET OTHERS PRAISE YOU! Men/women who search and announce their own glory are spiritually stupid and have been infected with the “OVER RIGHTEOUS” VIRUS!

Ah! Quickly isolate and quarantine yourself alone with God and be humble, lest you stumble! Pray seriously now!

TOPIC: DEEPER BATTLES (WATERSPOUTS)! DEEPER GRACE!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: PSALM 42: 5 - 11.

Welcome to today’s devotional with the God who is the Master and Controller of the deep; He is in full control of the depths of your life and ministry this year. Sometimes, the ways of God are humanly incomprehensible. Life sometimes responds to us in certain ways we don’t seem to understand.

YOUR VERY PRESENT HELP WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU

Many people give up in life just before their elevation visitation because of the deep nature of their battles. Oh! I am led to repeat this again: Some battles indeed can be very deep. When battles are deep, it means they are bigger than you can handle, when battles are deep, it means you have tried all that is in your power and within your reach, but the battles look insurmountable! Yes! Deep battles mean HUMANLY SPEAKING, NO SOLUTION IS IN SIGHT!
Deep battles can also be used to describe battles that OTHERS AROUND YOU DO NOT SEEM TO SEE, FEEL OR UNDERSTAND!

They are deeper than what beyond the human eyes can see! They are deeper than what the deepest thinker or philosopher can fathom/imagine! They are battles that only know where the “SHOE PINCHES.” They are so deep that the ears of even your caring helpers or faithful confidant do not seem to hear your deep cry! Verse 7 of today’s scripture says: “Deep calleth unto deep and “At the noise of Thy waterspouts, all the waves and billows are over me.” Waterspouts have the same characteristics as tornados. Wow! They can destroy and kill. They are associated with severe thunderstorms, and are often accompanied by high winds and seas, large hail, and frequent dangerous lightning.

Waterspouts have long been recognised as serious marine hazards. The cities of Malta tornado in 1555 was the earliest record of deadly waterspout. But hear this again: “Deep calleth at the deep at the noise of thy waterspout: All the waves and Thy billows are gone over me.” Even in the midst of the most dangerous waterspout (life battles), DEEPER GRACE IS RELEASED by your GOD!

That is the level where DEEP NOISY WATERSPOUTS CAN ONLY HEAR THE VOICE OF THE DEEPER VOICE OF GOD! Yes! DEEP TORNADO battles CAN ONLY ANSWER TO DEEP TORNADO GRACE! Oh, I am so encouraged to start dancing now! I prophecy: that battle will NEVER and can NEVER consume you because the DEEPER THE BATTLE, the deeper the Grace.

Every power working to turn my joy to sorrow, expire now in Jesus name.
I am not CURSED but BLESSED! I shall sow and I shall reap! I shall build a house, and I shall dwell in it. I shall plant a vineyard, and shall gather the grapes thereof. Yes Lord, I shall not see DISAPPOINTMENT at the edge of my dancing hour in Jesus name (Pray it for 3 days).

TOPIC: KILLED AT HIS WEDDING RECEPTION: I WILL EAT THE FRUIT OF MY LABOUR!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: DEUTERONOMY
28 : 15 - 33.

In December 2019, there was a wedding in Chino, a city of Los Angeles, California. The wedding ceremony went very well as the couple were joined in holy matrimony to the admiration of all who were present to witness the event. The reception followed thereafter. The 30 year-old groom fixed the reception in his sister’s backyard. Invited guests danced to music played at the reception.

As this went on, two brothers who lived in the neighbourhood showed up uninvited and managed to gate-crash into the party unnoticed. In the early hours of the morning after guests had been asked to leave, the brothers returned to the party, this time with baseball bats in their hands. A witness who spoke to the Los Angeles station KABC, said the brothers were looking for free alcohol. Their request was turned down and they were asked to leave.

An argument followed and a fight broke out that ended up in a back alleyway. In the end, police were called to the scene around 2am. They found 2 victims with minor injuries. Witnesses told the police that a 3rd person involved in the alteration was missing. In the backyard of another home, they found the groom suffering from a blunt force trauma to his head. The officers started life saving efforts on him before he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he died there! This was less than 24 hours after his wedding.

A wedding day which was supposed to be one of the happiest days in a man or woman’s life turned out to be a mourning session for his wife and both families. This man died in his season of joy and he was denied the fruit of all his past labour! …

Today’s scripture, Verse 30 says: “Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.” He was saying, you will labour in vain and will never see your day of harvest! That CURSE shall pass over you! Micah 6:15 is on point: “Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.” Again I declare: GOD FORBID! Pray for 3 days: I shall not LABOUR for others to eat! I shall eat my fruit of my labour and I shall see may prayers answers manifest in Jesus name.

TOPIC: SEASON MANIPULATORS!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: PSALM 116:1 - 9.

A young man was going to get married. He was 32 years of age. His friends decided to organize a bachelor’s eve for him. This was on a Thursday night. The wedding was to hold the Saturday of that week. While they were at the bachelor’s eve, the young man told his friends that he needed to go to his uncle’s house which was a few kilometers away to pick the SUV car that he would use for the wedding ceremony which was just two days away. One of his friends drove him to the uncle’s house.

They both picked the SUV successfully. His friend drove the car they went with while he drove the uncle’s SUV. As they entered the freeway (expressway), armed robbers saw the exotic SUV and followed him. They shot him dead on the spot and took away the SUV. Great sorrow followed his untimely death near his season of manifestation. In today’s Word, the Psalmist spoke glowingly about how God had heard his voice and supplications (prayers). Whatever he prayed for was not stated but he was happy because his prayers had been answered (Verses 1 and 2).

Suddenly however, out of the blue, the sorrows of death encompassed him (Verse 3). Thank God because He
delivered his soul from death, wiped away his tears and stopped his feet from falling (Verse . This will be your testimony! Nothing shall steal your Joy; sorrow shall be far away from you and the plot of the evil one to turn your hour of happiness to sorrow or death shall be shattered in Jesus name. Untimely death and sorrow are terminated today and hereafter in Jesus name.

TOPIC: THE PROFESSOR DIED! I SHALL NOT LABOUR IN VAIN!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: ISAIAH 65: 20-25.

Sometime ago, I told the story of a professor who was known to one of our pastors. The man had built a very beautiful house; as he was almost moving in to live there, he collapsed in front of the house and died. All the efforts he had put in, became fruitless.

In a related story, a man sent his son to school to read Architecture. On the verge of graduation, the young man died. All his efforts of many years became fruitless! If a man marries a woman and puts in everything necessary to have a child, and children refuse to come, that is a marriage without fruit. Oh, that is another case of fruitless efforts plaguing many marriages today. Today’s scripture says God is against fruitless efforts IN ALL YOU DO! Verse 23a says, they shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble”. Powers that lead to fruitless efforts make one to dissipate energy without results.

By the grace of God, throughout the rest of this year, your life shall produce Good results in the Name above all names. From now on, you will begin to see results of all your efforts. I pray for a restoration of all the years the locusts have eaten from you. That is where the good news lies. God is able to put an end to fruitless efforts and to give us back the wasted years of fruitlessness. Hear the words of Bill Johnson, “Whenever God restores somethıng, He restores it to a place greater than it was before”. He will put an end to fruitless efforts and restore you to a better and greater position in Jesus name.

FROM FRANKFURT TO FRANKFURT: DESTINATION ATTACKERS MUST EXPIRE!

BASIC SCRIPTURES: RUTH 1: 14;
ACTS 1: 15 - 26.

On December 27, 2019, Lufthansa Flight 500 was billed to take off from Frankfurt, Germany to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The flight on a Boeing 747 had taken off at 10.55pm, an hour later than planned. As reported by aviation news website, Simple Flying, after about 4 hours into the flight, the crew discovered that there was a leakage in the emergency Oxygen system.

A representative of Lufthansa told Simple Flying that “the cockpit crew noticed a leakage in the Emergency Oxygen System of the passengers.” As soon as the leakage was detected, the pilots brought the airliner’s altitude down to 14,000 feet where oxygen masks would not have been used in the cabin if the cabin lost pressure. Once the pilots reached the altitude, they decided to fly the 373 passengers on board back to Frankfurt. The flight landed back in Frankfurt at 7.23am local time from where it had taken off after spending over hours in the air. I call it, “Operation FRANKFURT to FRANKFURT Journey! Wow! That flight was Lufthansa’s second experience in less than 2 weeks. Wasted effort!

Wasted resources! On December 17th, 2019 a New York-bound flight from Frankfurt had to make a U-turn over the Atlantic because of an issue with its hydraulics. The plane landed miles away from Frankfurt Airport after 8 hour flight. Similarly, a KLM flight in November 2019 from spending hours in the air before returning
to its original airport. The flight to Mexico ended up being an 11 hour flight from Amsterdam back to Amsterdam. Ah! The Holy Ghost wants, you to know that there are powers called, “DESTINATION ATTACKERS!” Like Orpah and Judas, they will allow you to begin a project, but you will never get to your destination/conclusion! Some projects or dreams are dreams without-an-end in sight (bottomless pit projects).

They waste your money, time and resources and they may even waste your life! These planes took off but returned to base! The pilots’ actions are commendable but in spiritual warfare, it is not permitted! You are not permitted to return to your past! God’s agenda for you is from GLORY TO GLORY! Some people dream of seeing themselves in their villages. That stands for serious satanic demotion/setback! Reject it!

Some university graduates dream of seeing themselves in their primary schools instead of dreaming of great scientific or breakthrough secrets for their future. Your hour has come! …

TOPIC: OH MY PAST! YOU CANNOT HAUNT ME!

BASIC SCRIPTURES: EXODUS 2: 11 - 22; ROMANS 8: 28.

It was Katherine Anne Porter, a writer and activist who penned: “The past is never where you think you left it.” She was married/divorced four times and battled with a disease! lndeed, her past was a handful! Many times, you think you have perfect control over the past and you leave it confined somewhere, only to have it re-emerge in an unexpected place or at an unexpected time.

Many times when you think you have buried a past mistake/mistakes forever, it tends to rise again in thoughts or used by enemies to haunt you. That was the case of Moses! He killed an Egyptian and thought it was forgotten forever! But one of his fellow Jews resurrected that past event and it turned Moses into a WANTED MAN! Indeed, the past is never where you think you left it! The Holy Ghost wants you to accept your past and the consequences because whether good or bad, GOD WILL TURN IT ALL TOGETHER FOR YOUR GOOD! Even if your past was full of horrible mistakes, Romans 8:28 will show up for you!

Even if your past was full of disgrace, failure and mess, Romans 8: 28 will show up for you because NONE OF US IS PERFECT in this IMPERFECT and BROKEN PLANET! You are not inferior to anybody! So refuse to be ashamed of your past!

Those you admire and envy have their hidden battles! You must agree that “the past is never dead. It’s not even past” (William Faulkner. Yes! The past is not locked away; not dead, gone or buried forever. The past is always with us! Indeed, it remains present all around you, looking for ways to haunt you or to make you mature. Ah! But God can use your past to make you wiser or more mature! Your past can also become your bouquet of wisdom or your everlasting wound of self-pity! The choice is yours but never forget that NO ACTION OF YOUR PAST TOOK YOUR GOD BY SURPRISE! He saw your past before it arrived and He has the PERFECT ANTIDOTE for it even before you were born!

Refuse to condemn or downgrade yourself! Refuse to join others to downgrade yourself. Those who mock your past will be alive to see your MIRACLE FUTURE! Look unto the LORD and His Word. TOPIC: THE THREE HOURS THAT SHOOK THE EARTH!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 27: 45 - 54.

Welcome to today’s devotional! Sometimes in life, before a major breakthrough, there will be a major breakdown. Yes, sometimes, before a major testimony, there will be a season of tears. Such is life and that is the story of my life! Most breakthroughs I have seen in my life have always come after a major crisis. And what the Holy Ghost wants you to know is that, no matter the present darkness you may be experiencing right now, light will soon break forth, and when light shows up concerning any area of your life, darkness will bow (John 1:5).

Before God created the earth, there was darkness upon the face of the deep (Gen. 1:2). It was that darkness that provoked the LIGHT (Gen. 1:3). God can do anything with darkness! He can turn it to light. He can squeeze it to dawn or create something beautiful. That’s why you should not be afraid of that darkness (UNSURE FUTURE) confronting you. The term DARKNESS” in this context connotes challenges, difficulties, problems. pain, hurt, tears and battles of life in general. But why does God allow darkness to surface sometimes? Because He does not want the devil to know His next plan!

Darkness is God’s raw material to remould and remake your destiny. God uses darkness to recreate and re-write your story. Yes! He hid His plan concerning Jesus from the devil (1 Cor. 2:9) and He will blindfold your haters concerning your elevation this year! Vs. 45 of today’s scripture says: NOW from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. Wow! Did you get that? From 12noon to 3pm, darkness covered the whole earth, yes what was supposed to be a HOT AFTERNOON became THICK DARKNESS! I call it “The 3 Hours That Shook the Earth” because GOD HID HIS PLANS OF THE NEW CREATION HE WAS ABOUT TO BEGIN! Yes!

Fear moves you from faith and when that happens, your HEDGE IS IMMEDIATELY BROKEN!! There are people who are afraid of ending their lives in shame/disgrace!
Some are afraid of ending up in sickness, poverty or DEMOTION! Some people are afraid of car/plane crashes, divorce, rise and fall, evil lurking in darkness, betrayals (afraid to fall or marry), etc; but the Holy Ghost wants you to be reminded that WHATEVER YOU FEAR WILL EVENTUALLY HAPPEN TO YOU! FEAR NOTHING BUT GOD! Listen: WHEN YOU FEAR ANYTHING YOU MAKE THAT THING OR PERSON YOUR IDOL and that idol breaks your HEDGE OF PROTECTION because whatever is not of faith is a SIN (Romans 14: 23)! TOPIC: FROM CHILD ABUSE VICTIM TO A LAWYER: MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 5: 38-48.

A female Facebook user in Nigeria took to social media and made this statement, “Your life is what you make of it”. She then went on to tell the story of her life. According to the story, she was abandoned by her mother at the age of 7 months, Her father and stepmother were left to take care of her. Her stepmother (now late), subjected her to all manner of maltreatnment.

Many times, she underwent starvation. COUNT! he would go without food, not Just for hours, but several times for days until she saw death staring her in the face. On one occasion, she was so hungry that she had to eat the leftover food of their dog which she was supposed to discard (throw away). As God would have it, their neighbor’s son caught her eating the dog’s leftover food. The young man told his mother what had happened. That evening, the boy’s mother invited her for questioning to ascertain if what her son had told her was true.

She was so terrified that she begged the woman not to tell her stepmother, because if she did, she would be beaten severely. When the woman learnt of her plight, she promised to give her food everyday, a promise she kept until they changed accommodation, without the knowledge of her stepmum. Apart from starvation, she underwent capital punishment. She said she was flogged mercilessly several times until she fainted. Her stepmum applied pepper on different parts of her body including her private part, eyes, armpits and neck.

She was sometimes abandoned in one of the toilets in the house for hours without food. She was forced to pray often for death, which never came. Despite all she went through, something good went for her; she was brilliant and cherished education.

She knew within her that a sure way out of her many troubles was for her to become successful in her academics. And she did. Today, she is a proud and beautiful lawyer. She is living her life devoid of all that she went through in her childhood days.

She refused to be chained to her PAST! Rather, she chose to embrace positivity, forgiveness, kindness, peace and love. We all have a PAST and we all have struggles! Many, if not all, have one ugly story or the other to tell about their past or present life. You must never allow the past to drown your tomorrow because your life is your message to the world. You must make sure its inspiring!

The young lady of today’s story became a lawyer out of her ugly past. She refused the negative! Close with Alan Moore: “The past can’t hurt you anymore, not unless you let it.” Put your ugly past behind you; forgive those who have hurt you or despitifully used you as seen in today’s scripture and make your life count! Gen. 4: 13 reminds us: “And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.” Wow! Oh, the wisdom of God! God made sure that Cain EXPERIENCED SLOW DEATH! His punishment was greater than he could bear! That means GRACE was withdrawn from him for life! It was better for him to have died than lived! Listen: Nobody offends you and goes free! They will go through battles that will make them call for, and wish for death, but DEATH WILL NOT COME!

That is why VENGEANCE BELONGS TO GOD! He knows how to serve REVENGE TO YOUR HATERS than you can do in a million years! God kept CAIN ALIVE in order for him to see raw pain and in order for him to reap agony before his final departure from planet earth. Ah! Many times God will not kill your enemies. He will make sure they see your glory before they depart from this earth. Remember Psalm 23: 5: – “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.” ABEL’S CUP RAN OVER! CAIN saw ABEL’S glory because he suddenly discovered that DIVINE SPECIAL FAVOUR (his reason for envying Abel) was real on the earth and yet it could not locate him!

Your haters will live to see you RISE! They will live to see their evil plans fall like a pack of cards! Cain killed Abel in order to win God’s special favour! But he lost it! Oh, thank you LORD! Gen 4:25 says: “And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: “For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.” So CAIN lived to see SETH who replaced ABEL! THAT WAS HOW ABEL’S CUP RAN OVER! It was SETH who became like the 2nd ABEL!

So you can imagine the AGONY OF CAIN in seeing that God passed over him and chose SETH! It was SETH’s generation that began to call upon the name of the LORD again as in the days of ABEL! Oh, glory to God! Open your mouth now and begin to praise and worship the LORD!

TOPIC: THE GBR STUDY: THE COST OF HEAVEN!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
JOHN 3:1 -16.

There is a question in the mind of many Americans, and that is: How much does it cost to live comfortably? In an attempt by Americans to answer this question, they often use a rule of thumb called the 50/30/20 rule of budgeting. This rule says that half of your income (50%) should go to necessities, 20% to savings and investments and 30% to splurges (extravagant spending) and fun.

In order to answer this same question, GoBanking Rates.com (GBR), an American company that operates an extensive network of financial web properties, did a study on how much is needed to live comfortably in each of America’s 50 largest metropolis based on the cost of living in each city. It used Zillow (an online real estate database company with headquarters in Washington) to calculate housing costs in each city and Sperling Best Places (a website that offers information about cities) to estimate other necessities like transportation, groceries and health care. The result was mindboggling. To give a few instances, they came up with the following results.

To Iive in Atlanta, you need per annum an average income of $51, 701; if you are a home owner S88,607$ and if you have to pay rent, S88,151: Austin (Texas) $63,717; Boston $62,021. At the end of the day, the study concluded that the average income of a worker in each of the major cities in the United States will make it impossible to live comfortably in these 50 cities without making cuts. The summary of this is that you must cut costs to live comfortably in these cities. Whereas to live comfortably in cities across America comes at different costs, the good news is that for those who want to make heaven their home at the end of their sojourn here on earth, the rate is the same.

The fact is that it does not even cost money to live in heaven; all that it costs is just a change of heart and lifestyle. The journey to living in heaven begins with a life of total surrender to Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. Today’s scripture says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (Verse 5). The terms are as simple as that. Secondly, living in heaven comes with a life of commitment to holy living. Heaven will not admit the unholy. “And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie; but they which are written in the Book of Life” (Rev 21:27).

Apostle Paul wrote this to the Corinthians: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Cor. 6:9-10). Heaven is a city that is incomparable to none here on earth. The streets are paved with gold: and there is neither day nor night. Depression, hardship, Coronavinus, Ebola, HIV, diabetes, etc, (Sickness and diseases), natural disasters, accidents and any other thing contrary to human existence are not found therein.

It is a place where you can never become “ONCE UPON A TIME.” It is place where DEMOTION sees you and flees! Remember Ecclesiastes 6:2 and the evil disease – yesterday’s devotional? It is a disease in which you LABOUR FOR STRANGERS! Reject it! So when you are blessed but not established, that blessing can be REVERSED at any time by STRANGERS! The difference between ESAU and JACOB in Genesis 27: 36-37 was that ESAU took the “SECOND-HAND” BLESSING! He was blessed by his father, but not ESTABLISHED! Ah! I reject RESERVED or “second-hand” BLESSINGS! Ah! To be established means, “THEY SHALL SURELY GATHER,” but all who gather against you SHALL FALL for your sake! When you get to a point when demons describe “THAT you as UNTOUCHABLE ONE,” then you have experienced ESTABLISHMENT. May that be your experience from today in Jesus name! Pray seriously now!

Welcome to today’s devotional. Deuteronomy 28:9 says: “The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto Himself, as He hath sworn unto thee…” Note the word, “ESTABLISH.” Psalm 7:9 screams this: “Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just…” Note: ESTABLISH THE JUST! See Psalm 90:17 – “And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish Thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish Thou it.”

That should be your prayer DAILY: “LORD GOD, establish Thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish Thou it.” So what does establishment mean? Note this: God BLESSING you is different from God ESTABLISHING you! You can be blessed without being established! MOVE FROM BLESSING TO ESTABLISHMENT! The word, “ESTABLISHED” actually means (paraphrased): 1. To be taken to a point where you can enjoy the fruit of your labour. It is a place where you don’t just labour for others or strangers!

See Ecclesiastes 6:.2 -“A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.” INSULT! TOPIC: HIS WIFE WOULD HAVE FILED FOR A DIVORCE!

JOB 3: 1 - 13

Many men go through various life battles and betrayal! I remember Billy Graham once said: “Comfort and prosperity have never enriched the world as much as adversity has. However, the Holy Ghost is using a popular story you know to speak a word of COURAGE to you today! Remember the man who had everything a modern billionaire can have: Money, money, money, big money, a good name, properties, investments, health, and a beautiful family. But then, Mr.TO & FRO” (Satan the accuser) went to God and asked for permission to mess with HIS LIFE!

That man is papa Job! Tragedy struck and Job lost his wealth. Next, storm took the lives of all his children. Then, a debilitating disease that left his whole body covered with painful boils came in to finally kill him (or that was what the devil first thought). Did Job have a bad moment and think of himself as a failure? Oh yeah! Not only that, his own wife told him that he was a loser and according to a couple of Bible versions, she even suggested that he should curse God (and lose his relationship with Him forever) and die. She was saying (paraphrased): “GO TO HELL! HEAVEN IS NOT REAL! GOD IS FAKE!”

If she were a modern wife, she would have probably filed for divorce and asked for alimony, loss of income, etc… Yes! She would have gotten the divorce and then gone partying every weekend with her friends while Job died of his horrible illness without anybody to take care of him. Oh, the agony of Job 3. It is the chapter where JOB CURSED THE DAY HE WAS BORN! It was like he regretted ever being born! HAVE YOU BEEN THERE? Sounds familiar! We all go through such stuff and I have been there many times!

Then Horace once opined: Adversity reveals genius, prosperity conceals it.” Thomas Carlyle then noted: “Adversity is the diamond dust Heaven polishes its jewels With.” Yes! Those mocking you will be alive to see your DOUBLE PORTION like Job (Job 42: 10)! Oh! I hope Job’s wife saw the LATTER END of the man she wanted to divorce! Wow! Refuse to give up now! Your latter end is FAME; not SHAME!

TOPIC: THE EGG, THE COFFEE BEANS AND THE POTATO!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:
1 SAMUEL 1:6, 19-28

A little boy named John lived in a beautiful home with his parents. One day, his father found him crying and asked if something was wrong. John said meekly, “I have so many problems in life, and talked about his ‘problems’. John’s father patiently listened to him. Then he brought a bowl and placed a potato, and egg and some coffee beans in it. He asked John to touch and feel the ingredients in the bowl, and say what he felt about them.

John described how he felt about each of them on touching them. The father smiled and asked John to place them all in three different bowls, pour water in them and boil them. He then boiled them all. After a few minutes, the father turned off the stove and placed all the bowls on the counter to cool them down. When they had cooled down, John’s father asked him to touch them once again and feel the egg, potato, and coffee beans. John had a different answer this time. He said, “the potato’s skin is easier to peel as it has turned very soft, the egg has hardened, and there is a fresh coffee aroma coming from the beans.”

Listening to John, his father smiled and told him how the potato, egg, and coffee beans reacted to adverse situations. The potato had become soft, the egg had turned out very strong, and the coffee beans had changed their form completely during their testing time in the boiling water. And what the Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is that NO BATTLE IS ALLOWED BY YOUR GOD TO CONSUME YOU! No! Afflictions are allowed to LlFT YOUR STAR! How you react to your seasons of trials and pain is what determines the outcome of your battles! Problems are a part of life. They can make you hard as the egg or soft as the potato, etc. Battles can make us bitter or better!

They can make you acidic or full of sweet aroma for living. No wonder William Ward wrote: Adversities causes some men to break down; others to BREAK RECORDS.” May your pain and adversities, cause you to break records! TOPIC : “GO CRAZY” (PURSUE) AFTER THE BLESSING!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 27: 30 - 46

Ecclesiastes 7: 11 says: “Wisdom is as good as an inheritance, and, profitable to them that see the sun.” Wisdom here represents the grace/covenant of Good! The Bible says it is as good as an INHERITANCE! Wow! An inheritance could be a house, a car, an estate, little or much cash, businesses, etc. So what the HOLY GHOST is saying to you is this: IF YOU HAVE WISDOM (GRACE and FAVOUR from God), then you are as good having houses, cars, riches, estates, properties, etc.
What makes a man rich is not LABOUR but FAVOUR. So if you put a FAVOURED or COVENANTED man or woman in a dry desert, that DESERT will blossom! This is because all it takes is the PRESENCE of God. We also call that PRESENCE His WISDOM or “THE BLESSING” See Genesis 27:41 – “And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, “The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob. Note the underlined: THE BLESSING! Not BLESSINGS! JUST THE BLESSING! That BLESSING when it comes upon a woman or a man is what ATTRACTS other blessings called INHERITANCE! Remember that JACOB had to get the physical inheritance from his father!

He ran away EMPTY – to his uncle because his brother (ESAU) wanted to kill him. HE LEFT HOME WITHOUT LANDS, CATTLE, CASH, ETC. He was even cheated by his uncle who wasted 14 years of his life (today scripture), yet he still became who he was created to be! The secret is: HE LEFT HOME WITH THE BLESSING and that blessing or that WISDOM SPECIAL FAOUR is what has made him one of the most powerful nations on earth ISRAEL. Genesis 28:4 calls it: “the blessing of Abraham.” Proverbs 10:22 says: “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it.” It is the BLESSING of the LORD that makes you RICH.

TOPIC: THE GOVERNOR” CAME OUT OF A DESPISED VILLAGE!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: PHILIPPIANS 2: 1 -11

The great George Eliot once noted: “Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.” Remember that it was a little boy’s bread and fish that was used to feed the multitude; not the bakery company of a billionaire! Matthew 2:6 says: “And thou Bethlehem in the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. Did you get that? Jesus of Nazareth, THE GOVERNOR OF THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH, was born in Bethlehem – Judah which was the SMALLEST (THE LEAST) PROVINCE in Judah!

He was not born in a BLAZING URBAN LIMELIGHT! Wow! God can do great things from small things and that will be the story of your life, family and ministry! I remember also 1 Kings 19: 12 & 13b: “And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice…And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Eliiah?” So, the LORD was not in the FIRE or the EARTHQUAKE but He Only spoke when the STILL SMALL VOICE showed up! Fear not! SMALL THINGS ARE HIS RAW MATERIALS to your destiny throne! No matter where you are now, it is small compared to where God is takıng you to – GREATER DAYS ARE STILL AHEAD!

Oh, the Small things! Do you know that one person’s sin can affect an Entire church or family? It was Miriam that delayed the whole congregation for 7 days (Numbers 12:14-15). Note Vs. 15 -“And Miriam was shut out for seven days: and the people journeyed not until Miriam was brought in again.” THE PEOPLE REMAINED in the same place because of ONE PERSON – Miriam! Remember that it was the sin of ACHAN that brought DEFEAT and SHAME to Israel (Joshua 13). A little child in your family can be the root cause of your unending battles. Even past Sins IMPROPERLY CONFESSED AND repented from can be the cause of some delays!

It was not a millionaire that fed Elijah in a season of economic distress in Israel! God used a poor little WIDOW! TOPIC: THE GOD OF SMALL THINGS! THE CONTROLLER OF LITTLE THINGS!

BASIC SCRIPTURE:

PROVERBS 3: 1 - 10.

The LORD has been speaking to someone in this 3rd quarter of the year on tearing away DISCOURAGEMENT due to perceived delays or SMALL/SLOW progress! Remember that Caroline Wozniacki said: “On grass, it can be the small things that decide a match.” There are two ways you can respond to slow or delayed progress! First, this reality should prompt a deep dependence on the sovereignty of God.
You can’t control or manipulate the little things or small things or little progress, but GOD CAN! Delays or chance events or random circumstances aren’t chance or random at all in the light of God’s perfect work in your life! NOTHING JUST HAPPENS! Your sovereign God is at work, willing and working according to His good pleasure in order to complete the good work He started long ago before you were born (Phil 1:6; 2:13).

There’s no doubt that your final product is going to look far different from the events around your life now! You may feel like a pinball (tennis ball) at times bouncing from one little thing to the next without clarity on exactly where you are heading to, but because JEHOVAH is sovereign and because He is good, you can trust Him with all of your heart, and not lean on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5).

And, when you don’t understand all the events around your life and ministry at times, you can rest in the fact that somehow, in some way, your OMNISCIENT CREATOR is going to make a way where there seems to be no way (Proverbs 3:5-6). If you can’t take care of the small details, GOD can! I call Him, THE GOD OF THE SMALL DETAILS! He is the God of the SLOW TIMES and the God of the FAST TIMES! In today’s challenging times, BIGGER OR FASTER is not always better! In fact, sometimes, it’s often the baby steps that put us on the path to delivering a truly compete live advantage!

The real secret of getting ahead in life, ministry, family or career etc, is to refocus your attention on the small details that, if disregarded, can CRASH YOUR DESTINY or relationships! Today’s Word says IN Verse 18: IN everything give thanks: FOR this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

You should give thanks IN everything -good or bad. That doesn’t mean you need to give thanks FOR everything. You don’t need to give thanks FOR that bad day of betrayal. Or FOR that bad relationship. Today’s 1st scripture Vs. 14 says: “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth It, that men should fear before Him.” So the Holy Ghost wants you to know that since it was JEHOVAH GOD who created you, His destiny and ORIGINAL PURPOSE for you shall be FOREVER! Forever means that even before you were born, God already had your AGENDA!

NOTHING CAN BE TAKEN OUT OF IT OR TAKEN FROM IT! Your battles cannot change it! Your trials cannot take anything away from it. This should encourage you today! Charles spurgeon noted: Trials teach us what we are. They dig up the soil and let us see what we are made of. Yes! God will NEVER allow any battle or trial in your life which will not PROMOTE that His FOREVER (eternal) AGENDA in your life! God can allow a difficulty in your life/ministry and also plan your VICTORY SO THAT MEN WILL FEAR BEFORE HIM.

Sometimes, God in His own infinite love and wisdom He has for us, allows trials and tribulation in our lives to show us who our true friends really are. What you will discover later on in life is that people who pretend to be your friends when things are doing well in your life are just mere imposters masquerading as friends. NO Sooner you start facing difficult situations in your life than they will vanish into thin air especially when you need them the most.

Yes, everyone can be your friend when things are going well in your life. It’s during those trials you go through that you realize that God is the only Friend you can trust; who will never leave you nor forsake you. TOPIC: GOD IS BIGGER THAN YOUR ANXIETY! LOOK UP!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: PSALM 121:1 - 8.

Where you look to for help each time a trial comes across your way determines how far you will go in life! When one door of happiness closes, another opens! But often, we look long at the closed door that we don’t see the open door! If things go wrong and sometimes they really do, don’t go with them. When things go wrong, look up to the hills from whence cometh your help (Psalm 121-today’s scripture) because: If you want to be distressed, look within!

If you want to be dismayed, look ahead! If you want to disgraced, look down! But if you want to be delivered, look up! Yes! When things go wrong, look up! Trust God for another promotion this year! Trust God for a life partner. Trust God for financial Favour in that business/career! You will not lack this year! If you look up, there will be the cry of a baby in your marriage this year! If you look up, your ministry will move from oblivion to limelight! Looking around and looking across will attract shame!

GOD IS BIGGER THAN YOUR ANXIETY! COME CLOSER AND CHECK

Remember: Joseph got a 2-year extension in prison when he looked up to a man for his deliverance! Did the man not forget him? THE ZETAS: GIVE THEM DAILY BULLETS!

BASIC SCRIPTURE: EXODUS 3:10 - 20.

Los Zetas is a Mexican criminal syndicate regarded as one of the most dangerous of the country’s drug cartels. Not too long ago, Mexico’s president said he would like to fight drugs cartels in his country with “hugs and not bullets”. Shortly after that decision, 23 People were killed in December 2019 when the small town of VILLA Union in the border state of Coahuila was invaded in a weekend gun battle.

This dastardly act was carried out by Cartel del Noreste, an offshoot of the Zetas, in an attempt to reassign this claim over that territory. Concerned about this, communities made it clear to government that the zetas must be fought with BULLETS AND NOT HUGS. A retired police officer who refused to disclose his name out of fear told journalists this, “You can’t give a hug and not expect to receive a bullet in return; the only way to fight them off, is to prevent them returning to our towns and ruling them is with bullets.” Wow! I call it OPERATION FIRE FOR FIRE; BULLETS FOR BULLETS!

In today’s scriptural reading, God told Moses to gather the elders of Israel to go to Pharaoh to negotiate the freedom of the children of Israel – Vs. 18. However, God gave Moses a shocker! He told him in very clear terms, “And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not key you go, no, not by a mighty hand” (verse 19). God told Moses that negotiating with Pharaoh would be a waste of time, and that the language Pharaoh understood was BRUTAL FORCE! And truly, Pharaoh did not allow Israel to go despite all the miracles of God he saw! Their freedom came only when God handled Pharaoh with force!
