Femi Falana claims to be a human right activist, yet we are yet to see the corpse of Elzakzaky or his sick body since the army massacre and it means nothing to falana. Even Coupists in military juntas are seen during trial, why are we yet to see Elzakzaky? Yet the AK47 totting blood lusting Fulani Herdsmen are seemingly being covered by the state! |

Olalekan Adetayo, Abuja Benue State Governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom, on Thursday lamented that the killings currently going on in Agatu Local Government Area of his state is getting out of hand. He said the situation which had led to the death of many people and the destruction of several settlements had deteriorated to the stage that he decided to come and brief the Presidency. Ortom spoke with State House correspondents after meeting Vice President Yemi Osinbajo behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Media reports had it that at least 145 persons had been killed in 25 villages in the local government. The attacks on the communities by herdsmen which started on February 22, 2016, are said to be ongoing. Ortom confirmed that many people have been killed in the attacks while many other people from the affected areas have been turned to refugees. He said he could no longer sit back in the state and watch the ugly events unfolding without seeking help from the Federal Government. The governor said, “There are issues in my state especially the invasion of herdsmen in one of my local governments, Agatu Local Government. “While we are making our own efforts to ensure that we maintain law and order, I thought it was necessary to also brief the Presidency. “We also discussed other issues of interest. I think that the situation in Benue, especially in Agatu is getting out of hand. Source: http://www.punchng.com/benue-killings-out-of-control-says-governor/ |

APC rejected again! |
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Hon. Ahmed Ogembe the winner of the re-run election in Kogi Central senatorial district held on Feb. 20. This is contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Halilu Pai, the Resident Electoral Commissioner and made available to newsmen on Monday in Lokoja. Pai said that Ogembe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 45, 468 votes to beat four other contestants in the election that was earlier declared inconclusive. He attributed the reason for the decision to declare the election inconclusive to `minor error’ during collation. Other candidates who contested the poll were: Sen. Nurudeen Abatemi of the PPA, Mr Moses Wokili of the SDP, Mr Bashir Sani Omolori of MPPP However the commission still maintains its decision to declare the election in Kogi East Senatorial district as inconclusive. The commission is yet to fix a date for the conduct of fresh elections in constituencies where elections were declared inconclusive. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has won the three legislative positions contested at Saturday’s re-run in Taraba. The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Habu Zarma, announced the results at a press briefing on Sunday in Jalingo. Mr. Zarma said that the PDP candidate, Dan-Asabe Hosea, won the Sardauna/Kurmi/Gashaka Federal Constituency with 37,645 votes, while his closest rival, Ibrahim Elsudi of the All Progressives Congress, APC, received 37,609 votes. The commissioner added that the former Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly, Abel Diah of the PDP, also defeated Emmanuel Bongo of the APC for the Mbamnga state constituency with 7,825 votes as against 5,642 votes. He said that Emmanuel Dame of the PDP got the victory for Ardo Kola state constituency with 12,138 votes over Sanusi Janbawaile of the APC who got 11,047 votes. The REC thanked stakeholders for ensuring peaceful election across the affected areas in the state. The Court of Appeal sitting in Yola had in December 2015 nullified the elections in the constituencies and ordered re-run in some polling units across the three local government areas of the state. doublewisdom: ![]() now thats harsh. but he needs to get moving before Nigeria gets zimbabwearized. l am afraid he cares not about the job losses and other ills in the economy. hence his laid back approach ![]() |
Errrrm ...... let nobody come here and tell me how we need to diversify the economy with this our current abysmal power generation and supply. Neither should anybody come here to opine about exportation cause that is also a long term pipe dream. What we need now is AN EXTRA ORDINARY EMERGENCY NATIONAL ECONOMIC RESCUE CONFERENCE just like the Aparo shooter Prof suggested. Here they will brainstorm and come up with temporary and long term way out of this economic quagmire and we all will start the application of the policies arrived at immediately. But will the one way traffic minded General agree Stubbornness is a deadly disease. This is no time to pretend to be rigid. Great leaders are always dynamic and flexible. We will not continue to grumble, as we will rise en masse against the system when the hardship becomes unbearable. People are being sacked daily. Companies that are supposed to do the manufacturing are closing shop daily. Prices of things are skyrocketting daily. The Dollar keeps soaring further away from the Naira like an eagle. etc Buhari swallow your pride, admit you dont know it all and save Nigeria today. If you like continue listening to Lai Mohammed's senseless lies. But if you will, declare this state of emergency on the economy and do the needful, and history will be kind on you. I do not need to remind you how urgent it has become to make this move so as to stop the free tumble of our economy down the rubicon. |
If truely thats what APC demanded, then a repeat of what happened in 1985 has become highly necessary. ![]() |
If story is true, he should be arrested immediately and made to face the full wrath of the law. All this idle annoying-ted MOG being fed with people's sweat and still misbehaving should be beaten into line. Proudly Catholic! No room for senseless deviants! ![]() |

A village in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat has banned single women from using mobile phones, with elders deeming the technology a “nuisance to society”. Members of the Suraj village council in Mehsana, the premier’s home district, passed a resolution in early February outlawing the use of mobile phones for teenage girls and young women. “Community leaders felt that just like liquor, the use of mobile phones by unmarried women was a nuisance to society,” village head Devshi Vankar told AFP, adding that a similar ban would be announced for school-age boys soon. He said mobile phones were distracting unmarried women from carrying out their studies and household chores in the village, which has a population of 2,000. If caught owning or speaking on a mobile phone, the violators will face a 2,100-rupee ($30) fine, according to the council, which is also offering 200 rupees to informers for tip-offs. However, they can talk on their parents’ or relatives’ phones. The ban was imposed at a meeting originally called to discuss the community’s growing alcohol abuse problem. It comes amid a nationwide campaign by Modi to spread the use of technology in rural India. Last year the government launched its “Digital India” initiative to help boost connectivity in India, where nearly a billion people do not have access to the Internet.
