Mukina
Its amazing for a moderator, the only comments you make are not essentially footie related, don't you have any, just any contributions to make apart from monotonous, dreary remarks? Really, am just curious,

, Manmustwac, I didnt say we will finish 16th, I said if we continued like this OR nothing was not done to nip the rot (then), we may finish 16th,

Marked difference, Ah back to the big squad thingee I mentioned yesterday, we have a fairly big squad with limited injuries (Just Woodgate/Dawson/Bale and oh sometimes King), we have adequate cover in most departments, however reports indicate we are trying to get:

i. Brazilian Sandro from Internacional in Brazil (Defensive Midfielder/ Can play Central Defense too)
ii. Kevin Anin from Le Havre in France (Midfielder/LOAN)
iii. Mario Mandzukic from Dinamo Zagreb (Striker)
iv. Also there is talk about Christian Lell from Bayern Munich (Defender),

All in all we are going the right direction with covers all around, Pavlyuchenko, Jenas may leave then.

I hear Fabregas has a Hamstring problem, Hmph? Does Arsenal have enough cover for most roles? Time will tell,

PEACE! grin

Hey!! I see the thread is getting rather interesting, !!!!!!! cool

Good! I have no Arsenal beef which traditionally I should have, (I just love good football!)

They are playing well and so are we, I'll make no noise here except,

Howya Like Me Now! (Listen to Kool Moe Dees song - Howya Like Me now from the 80's, Mukina will not know it tho, she's a lil lass, lol)

Anyway I predicted a very close & interesting season. This was obvious from last season with Middlesbrough & Newcastle getting relegated.

All around, teams have improved vastly. What will eventually matter is the size of the squad, some will filter away come January with injuries and lack of quality back up,

We have a big/quality squad with the likes of Chimbonda, Giovani Dos Santos, Jenas, O'Hara, Cudicini, Bostock, Bentley, Bale, Hutton, Dawson, Woodgate, Kyle Naughton, Kevin Prince Boateng and recently promoted academy players like Jake Livermore, Danny Rose, Dorian Dervte etc getting limited or no play time at all,

Anyway, we play the Carling Cup on Wednesday, we will field some of them them as expected, C.O.Y.S! smiley

We normally get good results against West Ham, they tend to be similar to us in terms of flair and passing ability.

With Zola at the helm they have continued to play attractive football.

However we have less financial distractions and we have better quality all round, we also have more grit which is something that we have always lacked and many teams used to batter us of the field. West Ham also has a thinner squad than us.

We beat them in pre-season and I guess we can beat them again, COYS!! grin

Howya Love me now!!

Less talk, just do the job!

Our team is very balanced at the moment, all we need is another center half and another midfielder,

Have a good weekend YIDDOS! grin

AM BACK, WAS QUITE BUSY OF LATE, MUKINA!!!! LEAVE ME O, Lol!

A lot has happened since the last time I was here, Crouchie's come, Bent is on his way out,

But why do some people think Crouch is not good?? I thought Benitz (as usual) didnt use him well at Liverpool, he was very good for Pompy,

Just wait and see what he'll do with us,

The only issue is our defense at the moment and 1 more defensive midfielder needed.

We need to sell a right back and PLEASE dont sell GIO!! grin

Vieira keen on Spurs move

North London club court controversy as they seek free transfer of ex-Arsenal captain

By Sam Wallace, Football Correspondent

Wednesday, 15 July 2009

Patrick Vieira wants more first-team football than he is getting at his current club Internazionale

Tottenham Hotspur are exploring the possibility of signing the former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira but the deal will only work if they can get the player on a free transfer from his current club Internazionale.

In what would be one of the most controversial transfers of the summer, Vieira, 33, would – if Spurs get their way – arrive at White Hart Lane as a free signing despite having one year left on his contract at Internazionale. The player himself is understood to be keen on the move and simply wants to play first-team football, having not always figured under Jose Mourinho in the last season.

The interest would not have been pursued by Harry Redknapp if the Spurs manager had not been given encouragement from the player himself that he would be prepared to take the inevitable flack from Arsenal fans as well as the scepticism from Spurs. Saving the transfer fee would enable Spurs to pay Vieira more although they are, as ever, eager not to lavish too much money on his wages.

The next move is down to Internazionale and Mourinho, who must decide whether they will allow Spurs to take Vieira off their hands for nothing. The club acquired him three years ago from Juventus for £6.5m when the latter were demoted to Serie B for their part in the Luciano Moggi scandal. Vieira would be offered a one-year deal with an option for a further year.

His legs do not carry him about the pitch as they once did when he was Arsenal captain but Vieira offers what Redknapp has long complained is absent in his Spurs squad. He wants a player of sufficient standing and authority to unify the players and set some examples at the training ground. In Vieira he sees a ready-made leader who would prove valuable in his influence throughout the squad.

Following his woeful performance against Manchester United in the Champions League at Old Trafford last season, there is likely to be a fear among Spurs fans that Vieira's legs have gone. However the Frenchman, who left Arsenal four years ago for £13.75m, is convinced that he has been played out of position by Mourinho – to the left rather than in a central midfield position – and that he can still contribute in his favoured role.

Redknapp has sold Didier Zokora to Seville this summer and would listen to offers for Jermaine Jenas. Ideally he would like to keep Tom Huddlestone. With Wilson Palacios signed from Wigan in January, competition for places in the centre of midfield would be about right should he be able to persuade Vieira to join.

cheesy

Una too think say footballers get so so much alliance to clubs! I am not sure Vieira will join, but remember being a footballer is just like being an accountant, a lawyer or secretary, if something interesting/better or exciting/challenging comes along, WHY NOT!!!
