![]() NICE ONE AYUSCO, AT LEAST I HAD A GOOD SMILE READING YOUR RENDITION! |
Thats the spirit Manmustwac! |
Hello! Na wah o! We lose again, unfortunately am actually not depondent about the whole bottom of the League thingee, I guess your team is your team, no matter what happens, YOU STAND!, anyway, footballing business!! We have totally lost confidence, I reckoned this was bound to happen ever since we lost the first, then the second League match, changed the fabric/spine of the team; too many light-weight new players! The issues really boil down to too much pressure and the obvious fact that the sporting directors are calling too many shots in terms of tranfers etc, My older brother actually supports Arsenal and he says it(often) and it has become obvious that we are more concerned about making money (i.e. the business side of football) than what happens on the field, Its a shame but thats the situation at present! I dont think we will be the bottom team come January, but if we are, then we are in serious trouble and it will be a relegation struggle to live for. That may actually be the most exciting part of our season this year!! lol!! ![]() I honestly don't think we will have this relegation fight as the smaller teams (even HULL that is 3rd now) will start getting tired & injuries will set in on their smaller squads, (I wonder why we always put too much pressure on ourselves!), My solution: WE HAVE A COUPLE OF PLAYERS IN OUR LOWER TEAM or ON LOAN THAT HAVE BRITISH EXPERIENCE! Like: Tomas Pekhart, Adel Taraabt, Kevin Prince-Boateng, Ricardo Rocha, Andrew Baarcham and even Hossam Ghaly in the sidelines! Maybe we shld just replace the 'foreign guys' for a while and give those with the experience in the sidelines a try, if nothing works, then Bleep it (SORRY FOR THE LINGUA) ;, we are doomed till the change the clowns on the board, Poor Ramos & Poyet! |
Hi Vieira, your error, I NEVER SAID THE MATCH WAS GOOD, IN FACT THE FIRST HALF WAS VERY POOR! Analysis of my players performance individually is not a manifestation of the game, I looked at our players in detail and the contribution to the game, even if the match was a bore, |
Cagey match against Newcastle in the 1st half, The introduction of Giovanni sparked the team to life, players that performed well? Zokora was brilliant, Giovanni has adapted to the English game better than Modric, King was assured with Woodgate, O'Hara was hassling and eventually got the goal, Aaron Lennon is the most improved player in the squad, Pavlyuchenko finally laid aside his 1st goal fears! Bent & Bentley did not even play! Confidence boosting! So to Pompey? The have conceeded 10 goals in 2 matches! They are smarting as hell!!!!!!!! They need to prove themselves on Sunday, and real badly! They have many of our ex-players : Sol Campbell, Noe Pamarot, Jermain Defoe, Younes Kaboul and Sean Davis, they will want to shine, BUT Spurs play better on the road than at White Hart Lane, Thats a plus, I think we will win this, I sincerely think so, PEACE! |
Dunno, but Chris Hughton a former Spurs player, FA Cup 1981 Winner, great defender and former assistant coach under Martin Jol is the Interim Coach of Newcastle at the moment, To be candid, I don't have a good feeling about this, and Obagoal has scored 4 goals in 4 matches against Tottenham, I tire o! But lets wait and see! |
Newcastle VERSUS Tottenham Obafemi always scores against us and he's fit for this game, Two teams in crisis, what do you think the result would be? ![]() |
I love it when I read the yabbies on this thread! I had a good laugh with the 'manmuswank' thingee!!!!! Anyway. We are pathetic! Ha! Didnt watch it though, was not even near a TV actually, I won't give up actually, that will be too fickle, won't jump ship either, OK, so my usual verdict? To many untested players, New team and of course they have put themselves under pressure as usual, Top 4! Top 4! ![]() The result didn't suprise me actually. We actually are worse at White Hart Lane (too much Pressure!) and the players are actually jittery at the moment, Anyways, Vieira a big plus to Arsenal and how you gooners are on Top at the moment, My fear is your thin squad when January comes, but a big high 5 to you guys and oh, Man City too! Who are we playing next? Rather unamused at the moment! lol! ![]() |
Honestly, I would love to agree with you and rejoice that youre a Man City Fan, but this is just bullocks!I dont beleive you one bit. Why wasnt this thread put up like 2 years ago When the sheiks and the Brazilians were'nt there??Sorry, PS. Give QPR a few years, we will have many Nigerians in Blue & White real soon. Many just move with the trend, argue at will and have absolutely NO clue what support is, Why arent you a supporter of Leyton Oreint, Dagenham & Redbridge, MK Dons (former Wimbeldon) or Oxford United in the lower Leagues? Sometimes (in fact most times) am actually glad my team (Spurs) have very few supporters in Nigeria. I dont wanna hang out with shallow people, that have no idea about the beautiful game! PITIFUL! ![]() |
Unfortunately Vieira, you aren't very astute with Tottenham Hotspur. We are very very, and I mean very comfortable in terms of finances. We actually made a profit with our transfers, Bought players: 66.7m, Sold players: 77.1m, we have always been shrewd with our financial dealings so we don't really gamble like LEEDS did (which I hope will come back to the Premiership some day), We are also the team that showed others the way: How? We were the first team in Britain to be floated on the Stock Market, and we also showed all other teams the way to be global when we signed Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa after the duo were part of the Argentine Team that won the world cup in 1978 (coincedentally that was when when I started supporting Tottenham). I loved both of them, especially Ricky Villa with his Long locks & skill and my support was finally re-affirmed when a certain Nigerian, YES a certain Nigerian Called John Chidozie that played with Segun Odegbami etc in the 80s signed for US. So Vieira, you are mistaken if you think our spending will eventually kill us. PS. Arsenal has a lot of debt from the building of that stadium, that is why you guys are also cautious with spending at the moment. Ha , NOW!! We won last night! Good game, we hustled , That was very important, Frazier Campbell played brilliantly when we was introduced in the 2nd half. That is why I reckon he should start against Wigan and give maybe Pavlyuchenko time to assess the game from the bench, though Bent may actually be rested cos he's played every game this season, Lets hope we play good! Cheers all! |
Hey Xsay, hi! I dont even think about relegation and even if we are, I'll still support Spurs, they way ave always By the way Juande Ramos spoke in English for the first time during the Press Conference for the match today, actually he's been berated about that and allowing Gus Poyet do the talking unlike Capello or Rafa Benitez that speak english. Enjoy the match guys! |
Hey Manmustwac, glad youre sounding so optimistic, we need this often, MEANWHILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our team list for tonite game is without Corluka & Pavlyuchenko (cup-tied) and Modric (knee), This may be good as the blend will feature less of the newer players, I reckon the team will be: Gomes Gunter - - Woodgate - - King - - Bale Bentley - - Zokora - - Jenas Giovanni OR Lennon Campbell - - Bent LETS HOPE!!! |
WE NEED TO BEAT WISLA KRAKOW, AND WE MUST BEAT THEM WELL TO GET A MOVE ON FOR SUNDAY AGAINST WIGAN ![]() |
yommys01:I think you wanted to say ', FOR NOT BEING BIASED', Why should I be, cos I love my team to death and not speak the truth? and rather argue on a public forum about how good or unlucky or unprepared we are ![]() We are in shambles, PERIOD! Only a win and a win real soon can save us from continued disarry and riddicle!! This will mean a mediocre season! Actually, we had a similar thing 2005/06 when we eventually came 5th (but we won 1 / lost 3 then and had 3 points), So fortunes will still change, MOS DEF! However, I don't think ave ever been so downcast about our team as I am presently! ![]() |
manmustwac:Manmustwac, you love your team right? Then be honest with yourself and smell the coffee, WE ARE PLAYING CRAP! Blunt truth, Its not that we are deplorable/useless, but be blunt, we arent playing like 2 seasons ago and Juande Ramos still hasnt found the right mix? Apologising to the haters? What is your definition of a hater? Someone that makes fun of you when your team is playing badly and is bottom of the League after spending so much OR an Arsenal fan that has 'rageful rivalry' from way back? ![]() Hannibal you are right, we should have sold Berbatov lots earlier, The board was just looking for ways to UP his transfer fee (which they did), but at the detriment of who?? The team of course!! NO TIME TO GEL!!!! Corluka and Pavyluchenko barely know each other! I have no reservations that we will definitely improve, but what I dislike (as usual) is the publicity we always give ourselves! This creates 'THE BEEF'!!!!!!!! Manmustwac, that is why we always have the backlash when we lose and then your so called 'haters' can't wait to have a field day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey also try and chill with A-40. He apologised for calling you a 'Mo-fo' in the past, we all get heated at times! Vieira my guy, you are definitely having a field day abi? Don't worry I understand how it is and am used to the tongue lashing (Its not easy wearing a spurs shirt on the streets of Lagos)!! Anyway ( Phew!!) The worst has happened my fellow Lilywhites, what can be more terrible?? Its definitely upwards from here after the UEFA cup match on Thursday, a win will definitely spur us for the Wigan match, but be careful ave seen Wigan play!!! Its gonna be tough and we play horrible at the Lane, any opinions yet? |
OK OK!! Didn't go to work yesterday as I was a bit down, stayed up (when I should be resting) to watch the match, Verdict?? 1. We are seriously short of confidence, really , really, we need shrinks to bring this back, and I think it's been there for a while and once the first game was lost POOF!!! We become Lily-Livered. 2. We have as usual put too much pressure on ourselves by thinking of breaking into the top 4! Yes its achievable, but we need to shut up and divert all the attention from this. Like I mentioned, Villa are a very organised team, but do you hear any noise from them? 3. Too many new players, also under immense pressure to perform!! Compare the Chelsea game to this one and its always the easier games (in quote) that we succumb to this Pressure. 4. NO team leader! Ledley King on the pitch is different from Dawson, We require a total solution to that problem fast and real fast, cos I see no one motivating the lot. Its like they all have their heads down from the start of each game. Hutton should come back soon so that Dawson plays from the bench. Corluka was poor yesterday too, but I wont judge him from one match. Ideal back: Hutton/Gunter-Woodgate-King/Corluka-Bale, I wonder actually, why didnt they play Gunter as right back and put Corluka in the middle with Woodgate and Bale? 5. Huddlestone to me is the LAZIEST player in our team! He's technically gifted and has a good right foot, but he's damn too lazy! Luka Modric is also too lightweight, so with big physical teams like Villa , you are bound to struggle. Aaron Lennon was by far the best player last night (after a season of criticism), Gomes saved us a 3 point blank times in the first half, his horror show is an overall reflection of the ailment in our squad. No confidence! 6. VERDICT: Actually , the fact that we are rock bottom may serve as good tonic, am not saying we are gonna win anything, but we definitely will not be staying at the bottom for too long, we have a completely NEW team. Too many faces! Can u imagine that none of the players that scored for us (4-4) on our 125th anniversary against Villa last season are not with us anymore (Berbatov, Chimbonda, Keane, Kaboul), this is a reflection of our overall naivety of our squad, we need time to gel & play like a team for once without sinking our heads in sand! |
Hey A-40, I hope so too, but remember Aston Villa are a very balanced side, the only thing is that they arent also playing that well too! Just hope my team gels! |
England Performed gloriously last night! WOW!! Good team effort tooo!!! ![]() |
Sorry Manmustwac, U-17 not under 21!!! Not with Mikel's /Siasia's team, but with Late Coach Yomi Tella's team! ![]() He was in the Nigerian side that won the tourney, |
Hi Manmustwac! Christantus Macaulay was the Nigerian Striker with Mikel etc at the U-21 championships a couple of years back. They were beaten by Messi's Argentina then. He was Nigeria's top goal scorer and moved to Hamburg after the tourney, though many clubs showed interest in him after. He is tall, lanky with speed and dribbling skills. Actually Spurs were interested in him then, so its no suprise they might be interested again! PEACE!!! ![]() |
Hey Guys, we also have Spurs players in the English team also so I don't favour any country actually!! Just watch the game and see how our guys perform! Shikena! |
![]() PLEASE WHAT SORTA LAME THREAD IS THIS ![]() WHAT DISCUSS DO YOU HOPE TO GET FROM THIS? DON'T REALLY GET IT! ![]() |
Hi Manmustwac! Our Internationals?? Bale & Gunter - Wales Zokora - Ivory Coast Modric & Corluka - Croatia Giovani - Mexico Jenas & Bentley - England Pavlyuchenko - Russia I reckon thats the list, PS, Huddlestone played for the U-21s against Portugal which they won 2-0, O'Hara was in the squad, but didnt play |
KO, ! I think it will be better if you face your Arse-nul thread and stop harrassing us in this gentlemanly/civilised thread!! ![]() |
Running our mouths?? You actually have to be optimistic, however, I wasnt so sure actually, We played very well in Pre-season in 2006/2007 and we crumbled with Martin Jol so I didnt base our successes on tour with the Premiership! We have always been deficient in the middle/the back and our keeper was also quite suspect. What we have finally done end of transfer window is: Got a much better Goalkeeper/Improved (slightly) the defence & midfield with the purchase of Corluka, but now the strikers?? Pavlyuchenko is a good forward , untested in the Premiership though, ; Frazier Campbell he seems a good acquisition for the 1 year loan, Really: Our deficient areas have been patched (not healed completely), I just hope the strike force of Bent/Pavlyuchenko/Frazier gel with Gio/Modric/Bentley! |
Good morning fellas!! Hey finally the saga is OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Berbatov has been sold to Man Utd for 30.75m pounds (lil bit more than what we wanted) and guess what Frazier campbell is coming to White Hart Lane on a 1 year loan, ![]() So who loses? We gain actually, we now have 30.75m/Corluka (who can play defence & also be a defensive Midfielder)/Pavluychenko/Frazier Campbell too! ![]() So the Le-sulk saga is OVER!! ![]() Our squad now has 2 strikers and one versatile defender/Midfilder which we desparately needed!! Let the new games begin, !!! |
Hey! Have you heard about Man City's 34m Pounds move for Berbatov?? Oh my God, we may win here! The Scenerio: We want 30m - Man Utd wants to pay max 28m - City wants to pay 34m, what happens? Berba-sulk will refuse City - we will insist coz we want 34m - Berba-unhappy will stay in London (NO!) or move to City! Man Utd lose! Petrov (his friend) is being used as intermidiary, wonder what will happen at the deadline! I have no qualms, just let Le-sulk go! |
Its alright Mukina, just the term 'FOOLISH' that you used! ![]() Moderator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Ha Xsay! We definitely dont need such a long wish list!! However, rumours are flying that Frazier Campbell will be part of the Berba-to-Utd transfer deal, Lets wait and see as it progresses! Interesting I Must Say! |
THANK YOU XSAY! AM VERY VERY GLAD CORLUKA HAS JOINED US, HE CAN PLAY RIGHT ACROSS OUR BACK-LINE! NOW HOW ABOUT A HOLDING MIDFIELDER TO MAKE MY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Mukina2, you're supposed to be a moderator! Your language leaves a lot to be desired! Guess its your youth speaking, Anyway we got the point at the right time, played Zokora in midfield, Put Gunter at right back, Bale at Left back, Zokora was very influential in the middle , he hackled the guys in blue and Gomes 'The Octopus' was brilliant, Good way to curb our slide before the international break, Last day of transfer window: Berba-sulk goes; Corluka comes; Verloso too and we begin the season! |
WELL I SUPPORT THE LILYWHITES AND AM NOT SO SURE WHERE THIS SAGA IS HEADING, ACTUALLY I WANT US TO SELL HIM (ALTHOUGH I'LL HONESTLY PREFER HE GOES TO THE CONTINENT), HE'S ACTUALLY DISTRUPTIVE TO OUR DRESSING ROOM ATMOSPHERE, MORE SO WE'VE LOST TWICE ALREADY!! DUNNO WHERE IT IS HEADING ACTUALLY, I AM ACTUALLY MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE NEW MIGUEL VELOSO RUMOUR OR THE ASHAVIN ONE! WISH BERBA-SULK THE BEST IN HIS CAREER, JUST AS I DID ROBBIE KEANE (WHO BY THE WAY IS GETTING INTO TORRES' WAY!) LOL!! HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND! |

Honestly, I would love to agree with you and rejoice that youre a Man City Fan, but this is just bullocks!
