School kids died because, the principal of the school did not take the basic safety precautions despite been fully aware that the area is an active insurgency zone.

The army cannot be everywhere at the same time, their are more than 3,000 secondary schools in the state.

Security is everybody's business whether you school in chibok or pretoria.

If your military flees and abandons equipment, it is laughable that you expect that a principal could've or should've saved lives.

We have shown you that the pictures are fake based on the varying positions of the bump on the one guy's forehead. Why don't you address that directly?

As for the Shekau in the deathbed, no one said that was Shekau other than your military and there is no way you can compare that person's face to that in any video. That guy is Shekau only because the military "says so".

Your evidence is refutable because these are dead people that your military presented and said "This man says he is Shekau and we have killed him". No one other than your military tagged the dead men Shekau.

The video plays for 44 minutes. Preparing for and recording the video took longer. No way that a government or Media other than Nigeria's would fail to respond either during or after the event if something like this happened outside of Nigeria.

The "dead" and injured "Shekaus" were shown to the world by the military, so those pictures don't count.

Major bomb blast in Yobe a few hours ago. Close to 50 kids dead. This is not a nice story, but all blame goes to the Nigerian military, which has failed in its duty to protect against these type of happenings.

The Shekau in the vids here is the Shekau the world knows and the Shekau the world knows is not dead. So you killed Bashir and not Shekau.

Let's start here - what proof do you have that this is NOT Nigerian territory? You have no grounds for denying what I say.

And then on a balance of probabilities, what is the likelihood that this is Nigeria, vs Cameroon, Chad, Niger etc? How on earth could BH organise residents of towns in these countries without their media and governments reporting on it? Either during or after the recording. Impossible. That would have been a SIGNIFICANT development in the whole thing.

This is Nigeria.

Even if this were to have been staged (the actual shouting of support by residents), fact is they were able to round them up and set up a full production, which probably took longer that the final 44 minutes that's the duration of the video.

This was done on Nigerian territory, so it proves that he had all the time in the world to record the video and do whatever it is that he wanted to do. How is this possible? How is it possible that a group that is "being hunted" can set up a full production on location in Nigeria?

It is possible because there was no one to stop them. This confirms EVERYTHING.

Kano (Nigeria) (AFP) - A new Boko Haram video obtained by AFP on Sunday shows militants on an armoured vehicle parading down a road in an unidentified town they apparently control and the group's leader Abubakar Shekau preaching to locals.

It was not possible to tell whether the footage was staged for propaganda purposes, especially scenes of residents cheering Islamist fighters.

The message appeared to be aimed at reinforcing Shekau’s claim that he has created a caliphate within Nigeria.

In the 44-minute video, Boko Haram voices support for other so-called caliphates, including the one proclaimed in Iraq and Syria by the Islamic State (IS) group.

Shekau, who is pictured in closeup shots with rare clarity, again dismisses government claims about ceasefire talks.

- 'Living in a caliphate' -

The video, which was delivered through the same channels as past messages, shows armed men lined along a well-paved road, with three pick-up trucks bristling with heavy weapons also visible.

Black, crested flags associated with the Islamist group are also shown.

Later, an armoured vehicle rolls down the road lined with both fighters and individuals who appear to be residents of the town.

Boko Haram has released a series of videos showing similar military hardware, equipment it says was stolen from the Nigerian military. Such claims have been impossible to verify.

No women or girls are seen on the street or anywhere else in the footage.

Most of the message is taken up by a sermon from Shekau, delivered indoors but apparently played on a speaker to locals assembled outside.

"We have indeed established an Islamic caliphate," he said, restating a claim he first made in August.

The images of the sermon include unusually clear closeups of the Nigerian militant leader.

- 'Support for Islamic brethren' -

Shekau has previously expressed solidarity with other jihadi groups and leaders.

In the latest video, he seemed to associate territory under his control with a wider, global caliphate, but did not submit to the authority of any other jihadi leader.

“To everyone living in Islamic Caliphate, we convey our greetings,” he said, specifically mentioning “brethren” in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Shishan (an Islamist term for Chechnya), Yemen, Somalia and “the Caliphate in Iraq and Syria.”

A graphic shown later includes a picture the IS group's leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as well as a portion of the message his group issued on July 1 proclaiming a caliphate in Iraq and Syria.

Iraq on Sunday was investigating whether Baghdadi was killed in air strikes by US-led coalition warplanes.

- 'There is no truce' -

Nigeria maintains it is still negotiating with Boko Haram envoys in neighbouring Chad and that a disputed October 17 ceasefire declaration remains viable.

Violence has however continued and the Islamists are believed to control more than two dozen towns and villages in the northeast.

"There is no truce between me and Nigerian tyrants," Shekau said, dismissing the credibility of Danladi Amhadu, the purported rebel negotiator.

"This person Danladi... if he thinks he can, let him show his face. By Allah, we will kill him," the Islamist leader said.
