Henry120: There is the white owned and run industry, which includes Denel. It's important we know the facts of your defence industry.
I don't have a problem with Afrikanner APC's, i'm only stating the Igirigi is a not an Ugly APC. How can the leading APC maker in the land be part of 100% white-owned industry when said leading APC maker is owned 100% by government and IS the actual APC industry? Grasping at straws. Now, wait, how does the comparison of people in the industry change the fact that the Igirigi is ugly and that South Africa produces beautiful APCs? |

Henry120: Still 100% white industry. Where are the rest of the 90% of the majority black population? How is a company owned 100% by the government 100% white? Have you given up on comparing vehicles in the same class and now are you comparing vehicles in the class of people? Why? Because your vehicles let you down? |

Henry120: Why should an APC be involved in a beauty contest, is that what it is designed to do?
The Igirigi is finer than the Otokar Cobra, and I consider the Otokar cobra to be a beautiful APC.
The rest of the things I mentioned matter because it was designed to perform those duties. You decided to start a contest. You mentioned the Cobra and insisted on comparisons. I kept telling you that we are concerned about the ugliness of the Igirigi. Now you wanna talk about performance. Who in the previous posts emphasised that? You did. So, if it makes you happy, the Igirigi is ugly, but Henry says that it can perform its duties. And I still insist that the Igirigi is the UGLIEST APC in town - ugly as laid out in that post you feigned confusion on. |

Henry120: I have no problems with the 100% white Afrikanner defence industry. LOL - what are you now comparing the Igirigi to APC's in the "black people" class? Is that how desperate you've become? Wait, Henry...Denel is owned by the government and the people of SA... Soooo....I am glad we agree that you simply love our APCs. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 2:53pm On Nov 05, 2014 |
Henry120: Guy listen,
When comparing to items, you get an item in the same category as the original item you want to compare with.
You don't compare a Car(sedan) and a Lorry, it makes absolutely no sense to do that.
The IGIRIGI is an absolutely beautiful APC, when compared to the Otokar cobra.
This is my position. No, dude. You are the one who wanted to compare items. We said the Igirigi is ugly and you wanted to know what that means. I told you. Now you are going on and on about all things irrelevant. LOL - from "APCs are not designed to be beautiful" to the bolded. Please say you are to be slapped with a dead fish...? Your ..."when compared to" qualification is also a joke, man. Anyway, the Igirigi remains the ugliest APC in town. UGLIEST. |

Henry120: Merely looking at these vehicles, they are in the same class, they have the same ballistics protection, and have seen the same conflicts, are also been used by the same army.
If I were to choose one of the 2 vehicles, i'll pick the IGIRIGI over the Cobra. Both vehicles offer the same thing, but because of Economics, i'll choose the IGIRIGI over the Otokar Cobra for COIN operations. I think I get it now, the Igirigi was "designed" off the Cobra. But their welding let them down, the Nigerians. Now, you are talking about economics and what they supposedly offer. Who in which post was talking about that? Who are you debating with now? What point are you debating? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 2:36pm On Nov 05, 2014 |
Henry120: This is how to compare vehicles.
Photo 1 IGIRIGI
Photo 2 Otokar cobra
What are the now technical details, how have they been used, what conflicts have they seen, how do they look in appearance. Henry, the ugliness of the Igirigi is what we are discussing. How they have been used matters how? Conflicts matter how? All this because the Igirigi is not winning any beauty contests? |

Henry120: How many photos have I posted on this topic? How many are animated, and why did I bring in animation into this discussion?
I want you to answer. Why should I care why you did it and what you THOUGHT you were doing? I care only about the EFFECT of it. And the EFFECT of it is that it proves nothing. It is dreams, as matters stand currently. Animated design? Picture below, dude.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 2:29pm On Nov 05, 2014 |
Henry120: It simply means you shouldn't you bloody dummy.
The vehicle you posted is an 8x8 and heavily armoured. The Igirigi is a 4x4, much in the same class as the Otokar Cobra 1, Cobra 2, and every other LAV in the market. That is what you should make a comparism with.
You claim to have a brain, now use it. You are an id1ot, Henry. Class is irrelevant. How BEAUTY works in APCs is what matters. That's what you asked and that's what I showed you. Even if I'd put up a picture of an APC in the same class as the APC (although that would be an insult to that APC), you still would get the same post. Deal with the post and stop playing for time. The igirigi is ugly in the way I explained in my post. Deal with that and leave the irrelevant stuff for another day. You protested that APCs aren't made to be beautiful and I told you what we mean by beautiful. No reason for confusion. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 2:22pm On Nov 05, 2014 |
Henry120: Does the Igirigi have a V shaped hull or not? Of the things that I listed to explain what "beautiful" means, why ask only about one? Why not ask about dimensions and everything else that I listed by way of example? I've got NO DOUBT in my mind that you read the whole post and that you know what I mean when I say you could say a rifle is beautiful. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 2:21pm On Nov 05, 2014 |
Henry120: You see how daft you are, is the Igirigi and the vehicle you posted above in the same class? Then you are even MORE daft because I was explaining to you what beautiful means. Is the Igirigi is the same class as a rifle? Because I also made that example. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by DieVluit: 2:10pm On Nov 05, 2014 |
Henry120: APC's aren't designed to be beautiful, but the Igirigi is by no means ugly.
It's an LAV with a Stanag level 2 ballistics Protection, which can be upgraded to level 3, a top speed of 110km/H and a 930KM range.
In it's class, it is amongst the best. When we say beautiful, we aren't talking about sleek. Look at the hull of the Igirigi for example. Is it beautiful to you, as in, does it look functional and do parts fit together nicely? Does it look like shape and form work together? Look at the hull of the South African APC, with the V-hull shape and the like. the V-Hull offers protection and you can see it when you look at the APC. You can see that attention was paid to dimension, height, the reduction of roll-overs - beyond ballistic protection. That's beautiful. In the same way that you'd say a rifle is beautiful. The Igirigi is ugly from front to the back.

Frankenstein: The Dutch and English settlers were much in control of things before 1990. The real South Africans were busy blowing up things and rioting. Show me the picture of the first indigenous APC manufactured in South Africa. See, guys, this is why I ignore some posts. The ignorance here it too complex to even unravel. Is there a South African volunteer that wants to deal with this? |

Frankenstein: Russia fled from Osama's boys in Afghanistan. Almighty France and USA. fled from the NVA in the 60’s. Iraqi army fled from ISIS. The Nigerian army never fled from boko haram. We've had our successes and our shortcomings on the war against boko haram. In a conventional warfare, the gallant men of our armed forces will crush the terrorists in just hours. I'm glad you're saying they fled in afghanistan and not in Russia. Yes, the Iraqi army fled from Isis. So, look where they are now. Definitely NOT the best in the middle east or anywhere. Frankenstein: They are Nigeria's first APC designs. No country comes out with topnotch at first trial. Remove foreign aid and Nigeria military will become the best in Africa. That settles it then! The igirigi is ugly. As to why it's ugly, that's a chat for another day. To become the best in africa, the nigerian military will first have to learn to not flee from Boko haram. Basics. |
