Not only a 4-4-2. Lukaku lacks the technique to play in tight spaces. By virtue of the fact that smaller teams play with tighter defences against big sides, Lukaku will struggle to score as many if he played for Chelsea. Lukaku cannot play one-twos in triangles and tight spaces. He also has very terrible passes and ball control in tight spaces.

When he has space, he can be lethal. But then again you see his technique let him down time after time.

Given that more teams will play against Chelsea with tighter defences than not, I say that any plans to sign Lukaku should be let go. It won't work. Let not the numbers lure us into a false sense of optimism.

Out of the 3 areas mentioned, it's clear that Morata tops in 2 of them (youth and NT) so [i]even*[/b] if Lukaku is better in professional league goals, he still lose the comparison because it's 1-2.

*notice the italics in 'even'.

In league goals, Lukaku played 222 matches and scored 93. Morata played 100 and scored 25... Lukaku may edge Morata here.

In NT, Lukaku played 49 and scored 14 while Morata played 13 and scored 6.....Morata clearly top here.

Interestingly transfermarkt value them both at 40 million euros...So what's all these talk that Lukaku is better than all Morata's descendants and Morata is uber useless bla bla bla?

The easiest way to compare strikers is to check their goal stats.

Morata has 25 career league goals. Lukaku has over 100.

Lukaku is younger too.

But to answer your question....Morata has a UCL medal, 1 La Liga, 2 Copa Del Rey, 2 Serie A, 2 Copa Italia, UCL tots. Lukaku has just 1 FA Cup and 1 joint UEL top scorer....Who is greater?

In international level, Lukaku has 14 goals after 49 appearances while Morata is played 13, scored 6..that's almost 0.5 goal per game.......Please who is greater?

Lukaku is just a big fish in a small pond. Take that same 'big' fish to a big pond and it will disappear.

Banging 100 goals in West Brom/Everton is not the issue, let him do so in a bigger club. Morata started in Real Madrid, went on loan to another big club (Juventus) and proved himself. Ever wondered why Zidane desperately wants him back to Madrid?

Talking about youth football, in the national team...

Lukaku played 10 matches (from U15 to U21) and scored 2 goals.

Morata played 34 matches (U17 to U21) and scored 29 goals.....abeg who is greater?

So assuming that is what you propose what happens when Robben is back, or when Ribery enters the team? Ribery is old and injured but he is still a much more explosive and creative player much more than Gotze.

If we blame Bayern then what happened to his Germany performances, He usually starts tournaments and underperforms and end up on the bench.

To me Bayern management just bought into the hype of Gotze at 2013 when everyone hyped him as one of great players coming through. Especially since he was bought without any specific coach demanding for his services. Guardiola obviously didnt want him and was forced on him, Ancelotti told him he isnt needed, even Low that try to use him ends up being disapointed. Basically 3 different coaches of 3 different nationalities havent been impressed by Gotze. Its not the first time we are seeing a player explode in his teens and fizzle out.

Bayern Management were in a rush to bag the next great star who could be the next Messi or Ronaldo or probably Gotze wasn't cut out for the pressure at big clubs

I think that we have so far focused on Bamford and Chalobah. Those two are not good enough and will never be good enough.
