NYSC should be scrapped or at the very least completely reviewed, join the Facebook page dedicated to this cause, and spread the word in all online communities, (a full fledged website is in progress and should be ready in a week or two), Let your voice be heard, Like the people of Egypt, let us gather our numbers in online communities , then when the numbers become large enough , physical peaceful protests can commence even bills can be presented to the incoming National assembly,

As a suggestion, let us use our number and our intellect as youths to push for this change peacefully. let us remember the change that came about (and is still going on) in the arab world started with discussions like this on the net (facebook, twitter etc). They were able to circulate information round without the govt being able to do anything about it before it was  transformed to physical protest after the number had grew tremendously.

Let us start from the issue of NYSC, we all agreed it has outlived its usefulness, let us push for it to be scraped or southerners be made to serve in the south and northerner in the north. Let us start by creating a forum or a web page where people can sign on to if they support this move (i'm sure we have capable youths here who can help with that). when the number start to grow, our parents (who are keeping quiet after their children are butchered) and the media will not be able to ignore it and it will ultimately turn to a physical protest that govt will not have option but to take action on.

You have made several valid points, We have created the Facebook page, join, spread the word share you opinions and spread the word, the website is already being designed, we must stop the madness NOW, else like thay did other times, it will be pushed under the rug and forgotten, until there are another round of killings, Then we start the whole process again,
NYSC is a nothing more than a purposeless money-making venture for certain individuals, we must put an end to it,

sorry if i sound like an extremly realistic pessimistic person but for me funding is still a major issue and any attempt on any project without substaitial funding WILL flop,

@ grafikdon, I agree that setting up an animation/vfx studio will be a solution but again, how will u raise your funding? seeing that in Naija, most of the better projects are ads/commercials etc, Whose gonna sponsor a studio while still giving them creative license??,
@ AdamuW, Really appreciate ur effort on the Abuja forum thingy, wish i could have been there, But i appreciate there's a cost of running these things thats hard to meet as an individual
( Personal Example: some years ago i had a website called 3dnigeria.com, had all the prominent members of this forum on it, but the cost and time of editing and maintaining it was too much to handle and yet another good project broke done---yet another case of poor synergy? )

In order to bring together the relatively few "experienced" hands in naija ; they'll need to be paid and committed,  Realistically, i for one will rather be home working on my small scale-but-not-spectacular indivdual project AND getting paid than on some ground-breaking Endeavour that will see me starving during it's course (am just saying----)

Besides that, most of the accomplished CG and VFX guys i know, tend to want to be "man-alone" aka "SOLO" so that in the end, when the project is done,  it will be their name only in bright lights,  Am sure everyone of us has some small ground-breaking project we have been working on , or dreamt of creating for a number of years,
The Harsh Reality, U cant do it alone,  Those projects will die
